"Juntos (Together)" is a song from Juanes, which was produced by Juan Luis Guerra and it's part of the McFarland USA soundtrack.

Looks like we're on the same team :) The song reminds me off his early work, which is definitely a good thing!

This is really good... Anyone else think it's an old recording? From his voice to the production it's such a far sound from his latest recordings...

Juanes is a larger than life figure and a very principled guy, a thing I like. A Colombian from MedellΓn, Colombia and of Basque origin, he is a rebellious soul insisting on taking part in a peace concert in Cuba in 2009, and doesn't care that Americans and American-Cubans hate him for his guts. He is also a humanist supporting demining operations for many years now. Plus he insists to sing in Spanish, not English. Perhaps Juanes is not that famous in the States. But for commercial success, give it to J. Balvin, interestingly enough also from MedellΓn, Colombia, exactly like Juanes and to American born Prince Royce from the Bronx. USA demography is changing and Latin population increasing quickly, so Latin artists will become more and more prominent... Witness? The success of J. Balvin with " Tranquila" in 2012 and with " Ay vamos" in 2014. Also one should not ignore the enormous hit " Darte un Beso" a success for Prince Royce in 2013, a success he repeated all over in Brazil in 2014 when he sang with Brazilian superstar Michel TelΓ³ " Te Dar um Beijo" in a Portuguese version of his hit. Some still refuse to listen to Spanish saying they don't understand what they are singing about. But it is just a matter of time. In future Billboard Hot 100 will show more and more Latin acts for sure. "Bailando" by Enrique Iglesias was an immense hit although it was anglicized by Sean Paul of Jamaican origin. But then we had the Cuban singers Descemer Bueno and by the Cuban trio Gente De Zona who continued singing in Spanish on it. Seamos uno, andemos el mundo / No hay nada que no podamos juntos We are one, we walk the world / There is nothing that we can not do together

It's not a bad song, unfortunate that it's associated with yet another white savior movie. I'm also not crazy that they used a Colombian artist for a movie about kids of Mexican heritage, but it's Disney, so I doubt they really cared.

I was planning to watch the Grammys anyway. But now that Juanes is on it, all the more reason not to miss the show.
