And is it me or is this something Rihanna could easily release? I immediately thought of Rihanna from the verses, but the chorus and production approach are more evoking of Ellie's work than anyone else.

Snatch that Ginger Ellie! I'm loving the whole vibe to the song.

A lot of her songs are on the bland side to me, which I never understood because she has such an interesting voice, but this was instant. Great pop song. Max Martin and co. are on fire right now.

LMLYD was such a perfect winter song and this is suited well for fall. Not my favorite song of hers but it's still a nice pop song.

I don't care for this at all and I might even say that it's my least favorite single from her.

This is a bop! I prefer the chorus with "you think you know somebody", though. The instrumental kind of reminds me of Outside at bits, and the way she sings in the chorus reminds me of Talking Body. Kept going to sing "if you love me ri-iight.."

Eh, lots of songs get late-week iHeart deals and don't get that many by Tuesday - I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks 100 like "Drag Me Down" did, though. (For the record, I think there are something like 64 iHeart stations on the pop panel.)

This just keeps growing. There's piles upon piles of hooks in this. Each half of the chorus, as well as the instrumental without "you think you know..." , the drum syncopation, the "Aha-aha-aha..", and that's before everything that's done with the vocal production. It's very subversively massive.
People are quick to call some of her singing personalityless or unremarkable at times, but her airy tone really sets her apart. There's a real ethereal quality to her voice.

I love it! While its not my favorite song from her, its still a solid single. Its certainly been in my head all day!
I think its a better lead single than Burn and Anything Could Happen. I suspect it will perform better than either of them. Its nice to see that they finally got a solid lead single for her.

I like this song! Not my favorite of hers by any means, but a great pop single for the fall.

Her first single I've enjoyed since "Anything Could Happen" and my favorite since "Lights".

After hearing this every hour this sounds better and better. I started out not really sure how to feel about it, but now I find it catchy. This is very good, but not one of Ellie's best songs.

I love this! And I've barely paid her any attention over the years. The single cover is hot too.

I'm okay with this! The bridge is amazing, and I'm happy there's a bit of her trademark voice-as-instrument going on in the background here and there. This will be massive live, though I wonder how the vocal will translate.
I think there are bigger and better songs on the album.

Ellie was on 92.3 AMP in NYC this morning and said that this song is NOT about any one particular person or experience. Oh...

Ellie was on 92.3 AMP in NYC this morning and said that this song is NOT about any one particular person or experience. Oh... Of course she's going to say that. We all know it is though. Her saying it isn't about him lets her look unbothered, but she knows Don't is about her, and as a songwriter, she would obviously retaliate. Too many references to not be.

I have to be honest that I'm surprised that the track was digitally released today. I mean, Polydor/Interscope could have waited a couple of more hours until midnight in each country to release it, but I guess that they were looking for sales instead of chart placements. Also, the fact that the track came out alongside the pre-order of the album was a clever idea to benefit it too. Oh! And I like the audio wasn't posted on her YouTube/VEVO channel as well.
Anyway, as a side note, I updated the OP with the artwork and the Spotify link and I will add the music video when it comes out.

This is instant, however the burn rate also sounds really high for it. I can see it getting old quick.

I caught this while I was on my way to school - for some reason I thought this was coming out next week so I was caught off guard - and by the end of the bridge had almost run off the road. When a song has you breaking traffic laws even through static...yeah I'm here for this. Speaking of the road... Ellie was on 92.3 AMP in NYC this morning and said that this song is NOT about any one particular person or experience. Oh... Wasn't this the song she said was about when she was on the road, drunk/off the rails etc? This is definitely a response to Don't (don't mess with my love/you don't mess with love you mess with the truth) but it's not unbelievable that she might have mixed in a few other experiences. Then again, maybe her whole time with Ed is her drunk/off the rails phase, which would be an interesting twist to their story.

The verses are FIRE! The chorus is pretty meh, but THOSE f**king VERSES! Yah, pretty much. I was REALLY feeling the first verse of this until that underwhelming chorus came in and I was like "ohhhh... OK". Personally, I only *love* one song by Ellie Goulding, "Lights"... besides that, I generally don't get her appeal. But anyway, this should be a hit for her. She's clearly on a winning streak right now

The production sounds like a mix of "Outside" and "Am I Wrong" or something.
