Hillary Lindsey is easily one of the finest songwriters in Nashville today, as well as one of the most decorated. She's got a Grammy Award (Best Country Song, 2006 - "Jesus, Take the Wheel"), along with several nominations, including Song of the Year nominations. She's received nominations from both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards in 2011 for "Coming Home" from the film Country Strong. She's achieved twelve #1 hits as a writer.
She's a frequent collaborator with Carrie Underwood, having cowritten on 23 singles and album tracks of hers, 8 of which were cut for Underwood's Blown Away. Seven of Lindsey's 12 #1s are from Carrie Underwood singles -- "Jesus, Take the Wheel", "Wasted", "So Small", "Last Name", "Just A Dream", "Two Black Cadillacs", and "See You Again".
Her other five #1s include Martina McBride's "Blessed", Gary Allan's "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)", Sara Evans' "A Little Bit Stronger", Lady Antebellum's "American Honey", and her most recent #1, Tim McGraw's "Shotgun Rider".

Hillary is easily my favorite Carrie collaborator, and one of Nashville's finest.
I wish Carrie had recorded Hillary's demo of "The Clown" for an album.

I love her songwriting on Carrie songs, especially "Good in Goodbye".
I also love her song "Say Goodbye" which was recorded by Katharine McPhee.

The song she did on Shakira's last album was pretty meh to me, I think because they apparently gave her what was originally a dance song and had her shoehorn it into a country song to squeeze a Blake Shelton duet on the album. The work she's done with country artists has been much stronger
