Off topic: I've been searching, does anyone know where the Grammy discussion is? It's in our recently-added Award Shows & Televised Events forum: 2015 GRAMMYs

I read the other day that Carrie is due in April, which is right around the time of The ACM Awards. I'm guessing she won't be there, which makes me wonder if we'll ever get a live performance of this on an awards show. :(

Perhaps she announced it a little bit early because she knew she'd be doing promo for the Greatest Hits album and she wanted to be the one to reveal it, rather than tabloids gossiping about it once she started to show a bit.

^She said she was pregnant while doing the Sunday Night Football shoots in an interview or something. By doing the math April is 10 months later. Pretty sure that's too long. I think that date is inaccurate.

A pregnancy is considered full-term and a baby can be safely delivered after 36 weeks (9 months). A full pregnancy is actually 40 weeks - or 10 months.

Carrie's commented on this in an interview that Typo posted in the Carrie GH thread a week or two ago. She said she definitely wants to, but doesn't for sure know if she's going to be able to go since it will be so close to when she's giving birth. Basically, it'll all be determined by when she actually pops. If it's mid-March, then there's a chance. If it's closer to April, then it's unlikely. Either way, she'd have just given birth, so if she isn't there, I won't be upset or chastise her over it.
There will be a TV performance of LTG at some point. Just because it isn't at the ACMs doesn't spell disaster. Probably in June at the CMT Awards when she's making her return to the scene. We already have a ton of summer festival tour dates from her, so she's clearly planning on coming back to the spotlight this summer.
I should put a disclaimer in the opening post that reads "no melodrama" just to see if it'll actually work. It's a Carrie thread, so that's doubtful, but one could fantastize!

This is a pretty great song, hope it does well for her. She looks great in the video.

She will also surely get a CMA nod or two and get to perform, so she could perform it there. I mean, what else would she perform at that point?

She will also surely get a CMA nod or two and get to perform, so she could perform it there. I mean, what else would she perform at that point? By November, it's likely she'll have a brand new album out or about to come out. She's hinted many times she plans to release a new album later this year. So by the time the CMAs roll around, she'll likely be promoting the lead single from that project.

Debuts with flying colors on the Billboard chart this evening at #52 and it garnered 15 adds one week ahead of the add date on MB. Look for "Little Toy Guns" to be the most added song next week by a wide margin (going out on a limb there, hey ).

I'll say. Up nine to #43. Carrie Underwood will definitely be in the top 40 next week.

Assuming a 15-20 week chart run for this standout tune, that would ensure a new single in July and a new CD around Halloween give or take a week or two.

This one has really grown on me. I heard it on the radio this afternoon and it sounded really good. Those guitar riffs are really cool, and the production just really has a good driving feel/beat to it.

This has grown on me quite a lot, really enjoying it now. Fingers crossed it'll be another #1 for Carrie in country airplay and help the sales of her Greatest Hits album. Off to a great start so far! Also just looked at Carrie's track record for country so far and damn, didn't realise how amazing it was.

Finally heard this on the radio this afternoon, and all I can say is as good as it is on my computer speakers and my iPhone, its fabulous in the car while driving. Can't quite pinpoint exactly why, it just is - just like "Blown Away" and "Two Black Cadillacs" were.

4. CARRIE UNDERWOOD/Little Toy Guns (19/Arista) +930 points LTG was the 4th top point gainer for the week of Feb 22 according to mediabase. It looks like this song won't have any problem climbing the charts. I don't think anyone on here predicted it would have a hard time on the charts. Carrie is an A-lister, so her songs go screaming up the charts at a much accelerated pace.

Just heard this for the first time & already like it much better than Something In The Water. When SITW first came out, I absolutely loved it & thought it was my favorite Carrie single ever. Unfortunately, it didn't wear well for me and the sustained (shouty) notes (when she sings stronger, oy) in the chorus really got to me after a while, to the point that I would change the station when it came on. If the chorus were different, I would still love it, because I love the tempo, beat, subject matter, and the verses are really moving and amazing.
But back to this song; it has a smaller section of loud/powerful, sustained notes as well, but it doesn't bother me at this point. We'll see how it goes, but overall, I do like this a lot. Not surprised at all it's racing up the charts.

It is a very sad day in this country when someone singing about their faith is considered "polarizing".
Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, and countless others were practically required to sing traditional Gospel tunes because of the demand but also because they loved singing them.
Is Something In the Water really that much different than Jesus Take the Wheel, or Temporary Home? Is it a surprise? Or is it just who Carrie Underwood is?
I guess I hope this song does well, but I'm never too worried about Carrie. She knows who she is as an artist and she will put out quality music for years to come.
I guess you can tell from this post I haven't heard this yet.

And in today's world (compared to the time of Elvis and Sam Cooke) there are a lot more people listening to music who don't believe what Carrie's song in the message is.

I guess you can tell from this post I haven't heard this yet. I do not get why some are so upset about SITW and assume THE reason it missed the top (despite great sales) in a very minor way and think the reason it is 'polarizing' is because she is singing about her faith.Country songs are full of faith references. My two favorite Carrie songs of all time are faith based- JTTW and Temporary Home. But just like mylifeback above-I liked the song at first then rapidly grew weary of it because it was shouty/screechy at times and a mess in production, IMO-too loud and disjointed. And even though radio has no problem playing many of Carrie's singles that are more pop than Country perhaps radio just decided this really had little country sound about it, despite its subject matter. If she wasn't Carrie and the song didn't sell as well as it did, I doubt SITW would have even scored top 30. Back on topic- Toy Guns has a nice sound to it and will do well. I still like more restrained Carrie in sound; but this is a good song-very radio friendly, different and interesting. I'm not thinking this will miss #1.
