Hopefully less of an attempt at "bro" than Headlights, which could have been a throwaway Jason Aldean tune (and not even good Aldean).
While I think Montgomery Gentry's consistent radio days are *probably* behind them, they could very well have a revival the way things seem to be shifting at radio right now. They just need the right song.
The title alone seems promising.

See phil1996, I told you there would be another single released before the album drops. :) The title seems like a MG title. Could be along the lines of "One In Every Crowd" or "Hell Yeah", or (what I'm hoping for) something along the lines of "Something To Be Proud Of" or "Back When I Knew It All".

Seems...safe. I enjoyed it. Might be just what they need.

So this is weird... I was flipping through Country Weekly and they did one of those "Fill In The Blank" things with Eddie Montgomery, the question was "I would love to do a duet with..." and Eddie answered, "I was in a duo for so long, I'm just excited about the solo thing now" What the hell they can't be breaking up can they? They just announced their new song!

Sounds like he could be joking/being sarcastic.
Any link or full picture for a better description?

^ New album out in a couple months, new single that could do halfway decent, tour dates, don't think they're breaking up. At least not in the near future. If they do, maybe next year.

Didn't Eddie just get a divorce? Is it possible he was referencing that? (It's also possible I'm making this up.)

Give Eddie a Break-- He had the big C -- Getting back can be tough but when they get it together maybe they can challenge FGL for the duo of the year again.

This song's kinda lame IMO. Same old "we're badass, love fishing, go to church on Sunday, raise hell on Saturday night" song that was all the rage pre-bro country. It's honeslty a retread of "Backwoods", "Headlights" and dozens of other songs.
They're probably not getting a hit anytime soon, so why not record songs like "Something to be Proud Of"? I'll pass.

They're probably not getting a hit anytime soon, so why not record songs like "Something to be Proud Of"? I'll pass. Because Blaster (whether you think it's a lost cause or not) truly believe they can get one of their artists song into the top 20 or at least top 30. Therefore, radio-friendly and safe fodder is, unfortunately, the best recipe. I too want another "Something To Be Proud Of" or even something as cleverly written as "Speed", though to be honest those are plenty radio-friendly as well IMO. Simply put I haven't loved anything they've put out since "Back When I Knew It All".

Getting back can be tough but when they get it together maybe they can challenge FGL for the duo of the year again. They'll be lucky at this point to even score another nomination in that category with all the up-and-coming duos these past couple years, and I can say with confidence that they will never win that award again. They only even won it one time in their career when they first started out. As for this song, I can't see this doing much of anything given their lack of hits the last 3 years. It's an improvement over "Headlights," but it's still really generic and doesn't have the same catchiness and appeal that "Where I Come From" had, imo.

I'm actually really digging this one. I don't view it as 'bro country' like their previous single did, and this is also their catchiest song in quite a while, in my opinion. I enjoy listening to the melody along with the production.
"Headlights" wore on me fast, and that's not very common with MG songs for me. Had a lack of lyrics, not to mention the lyrics were awful, like to the point where my dog could've wrote them.

So I finally got a chance to listen to this and THIS is the MG that I know and love. So much better than "Headlights". I hope that they can at least go top 40 with this one!

I've been enjoying this song and I think it's their best single in a while. I'm not sure how high it can get in such a competitive environment but they really shouldn't push the album back if this doesn't take off more. I'm hoping for a top 40 finish but by the looks of things it'll be lucky to get that far.

I have to admit that I thought this song was quite bland when it was first release. I have heard it about three or four times this week on the radio. Which is nice. Wish I could hear Blaster label mate Chuck Wicks on the air more. Anyway, this one has definitely grown on me, although between this and "Headlights" I don't think I'll be picking up the album.

"Folks Like Us" finally cracks the MB top 50 this week, at #50. It's Billboard peak thus far is #51.
This actually keeps their streak of every single they've released reaching the top 50, lol.

This one went recurrent on Billboard tonight, but that's gotta be a mistake. Last week was its 19th week, and it had a bullet in week 18. It did lose a little bit of audience this week, but it should have gotten one more bullet-less week before it could go recurrent. According to AllAccess, "Folks Like Us" still has nearly 1.3 million in audience, and that's only counting the "leaders" stations. The #60 song, Aaron Watson's "That Look", has just over 700k on Billboard, and I don't see any way that Montgomery Gentry could have fallen below that given that FLU is still at about 1.3 mil on MB (it's probably higher than that, but AllAccess only lets you see the stations that have played it at least 7 times in the last 7 days).
Not really a big deal since I think this was pretty much done anyway, but I do think this is an error on Billboard's part. At least they re-admitted Mo's "Country" this week..
