American Top 40 - February 7, 2015

So, it looks like iHeart Radio finally gets to playing this week's show as the Top two segment is playing. Sorry for the lateness. My chart supplier is on vacation this week so he sent me an incomplete playlist in advance. There will likely be a missing extra or two on the list but I have to go to a doctor's appointment soon (and of course, iHeart plays the international AT40 instead of the North American version so we may not be 100% complete until Saturday and I have to go to work that day).

Things should be back to normal next week. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Saturday morning update. I just heard the U.S. version.

Confirming that there are ten extras -- the eight listed in jdelachjr2002's original post and the two I added.

I figured there would be a new #1, this week. It was just a question of who. If Nick Jonas was going to do it, this week was, most certainly, his last shot. Those of you worried that he might get screwed out of #1 can, now, breath a sigh of relief. "Uptown Funk!" will, undoubtedly, hit #1 next week.

Bad spacing of extras this time around...double-ups (and one near double-up) at the end of every hour. I'm surprised "FourFiveSeconds" wasn't one of the Breakouts considering the iHeart deal it had when it debuted. It's a, sure fire, lock to debut next week. I'll look forward to hearing what Ryan has to say about that one. Particularly, in regard to Paul McCartney's return to the top 40. Exactly 51 years ago, The Beatles were at #1 with their first hit "I Want To Hold Your Hand".

It wouldn't surprise me if this show's chart comes from anywhere between January 18-21, the four days Nick was #1 - and "FourFiveSeconds" still hadn't surfaced yet. Probably wasn't even on their desk yet. Actually, comparing this to the chart of the 21st, that day is a very likely possibility.

Why not go back and insert the song into this week's show? ...That's where the laziness factor comes in.

We heard Ed Sheeran, and Taylor, in 3 different hours each. They really do like J-Lo who makes
another "appearance" this week. Ryan mentioned her movie and her American Idol participation.
They did a 7,6,5 segment this week which included an interview with Sam Smith.
What a slow rise to number one for Nick J. It entered AT 40 the weekend of October 4th. I didn't
go back to check but that would be interesting to see what the slowest rising songs to the top have
been in the Seacrest era.
Curiosity: Two songs in the countdown mention Michelle Pfeiffer in the lyrics. Riptide and Uptown Funk.

"Give Your Heart a Break" holds the record for a single chart run, needing 21 weeks to get there.

If you only count weeks charted, Cee-Lo needed one week less than Demi, though it'd be kind of silly to look at it that way.
