Idea for this thread nicked from UKMiX © Cristy Basically post the cover of the album you are currently listening to with emphasis on country music. Please complete your entry with a short explanation why you have chosen that specific record. Please no stanning and at least 6 tracks correspond to one full album. Here below is the recap of the 30 records I listened to last.

I am working on a country data base starting with the year 1985. That year John Schneider had a couple of albums charting high and some singles. Have listened to this set at least three times in the past couple of days. "I've Been Around Enough To Know" is pretty good.

This album has such a unique feel and identity to it. The production and smooth vocals are stellar. If there's such a thing as California Country, this is it. True story; My brother bought me this album at the now defunct Media Play in 2005 after he felt sorry for spilling all of my soda on me at an Applebee's. :)

Vern Gosdin's Til The End. I don't know why but I recently fell in love with "Hangin On" with Emmylou Harris all over again. The entire album was great though

Great idea for a thread (I had to look up what "stanning" meant on Urban Dictionary - learn something new everday! I love that Eminem song so I should have figured it out). I've been thinking this forum needed some kind of "What are you listening to?"-type thread. I'll be posting in this thread often, but I'll be limiting myself to one album a day (occasionally two). Jack Ingram - Livin' or Dyin' (1997)
My favorite Jack Ingram album that I've heard. Mixes solid covers of classic songs like Jimmie Dale Gilmore's "Dallas" and Guy Clark's "Rita Ballou" with breathtaking originals like "She Does Her Best" and "Airways Motel." Part alt-country and part honky-tonker, this is really solid stuff.

Don't mean to make an off-topic post, but how did you guys make the 30 album collages? Those are awesome.
BTW, great taste everyone.

Well today in school I listened to part of Dierks Bentley's "Up On The Ridge" album. And tonight I listened to Josh Turner's "Everything Is Fine" album. Both great stuff

Too bad this was his second and final album for Columbia. I still don't know why "So Am I" bombed so hard.

Currently, I'm listening to "Up All Night" by Kip Moore. Forgot how relaxing that record was. Not one bad song.

I currently have Sturgill's High Top Mountain on repeat. Wish I would've found this album sooner...it's great. My favorite tracks right now are "Water in a Well," "Hero," "The Storm," and "You Can Have the Crown."

Have listened to this set at least three times in the past couple of days. "I've Been Around Enough To Know" is pretty good. I had saluted John Schneider last year in one of my columns. This is what I said: 1. Schneider-His music career started two years after he started his acting career with The Dukes Of Hazzard playing Bo Duke. His breakthrough hit, a cover of the Elvis Presley hit, It's Now Or Never was a huge crossover smash in 1981 (#4 country, #14 pop, and #5 adult contemporary). His other notable hits for Scotti Brothers, his first label were Them Good Ol' Boys Are Bad (1981-#13) and Dreamin' (1982-#32). Three more singles charted and Schneider switched labels to MCA in 1983. His first two singles for them (off the Too Good To Stop Now CD) reached #1: I've Been Around Enough To Know (1984) and Country Girls (1985). His second MCA CD, Tryin' To Outrun The Wind produced two #10 hits in 1985: It's A Short Walk From Heaven To Hell and I'm Gonna Leave You Tomorrow. It should be noted that The Dukes Of Hazzard ended its six year run during this time. His ONLY #1 CD, A Memory Like You produced his third chart topper in 1986: What's A Memory Like You Doing In A Love Like This. You're The Last Thing I Needed Tonight was released in May and became his fourth and final chart topper in August. His 1986 CD, Take The Long Way Home yielded At The Sound Of The Tone (#5 in 1986) and the title track (#10 in 1987). His last CD for MCA, You Ain't Seen The Last Of Me produced three chart singles (all 1987): Love, You Ain't Seen The Last Of Me (#6), When The Right One Comes Along (#32), and his final chart appearance, If It Was Anyone But You (#59). A greatest hits CD in 1987 ended his four year association with the label. He returned to acting and he is probably known for playing Clark Kent's father in Smallville. His last CD was released in 2010 called The Promise. BILLBOARD TOP TEN FOR WEEK ENDING AUGUST 16, 1986: 1. YOU'RE THE LAST THING I NEEDED TONIGHT-JOHN SCHNEIDER-MCA 2. STRONG HEART-T.G. SHEPPARD-COLUMBIA 3. HEARTBEAT IN THE DARKNESS-DON WILLIAMS-CAPITOL 4. Savin' My Love For You-Pake McEntire-RCA 5. Count On Me-Statler Brothers-Mercury 6. DESPERADO LOVE-CONWAY TWITTY-WARNER BROS. 7. Will The Wolf Survive-Waylon Jennings-MCA 8. Country State Of Mind-Hank Williams, Jr.-Warner Bros. 9. Sometimes A Lady-Eddy Raven-RCA 10. Guys: What a turnout! Love this thread already. Hope we can turn this topic into a Pulse Country staple. Impeccable taste everyone! Too bad this was his second and final album for Columbia. I still don't know why "So Am I" bombed so hard. TRENT WILLMON: "a little more livin'"Loved this (still do)! :) NB: Trent has produced Josh Grider's 2014 "Luck & Desire" album. Still have to check it out in full, though. Great idea for a thread (I had to look up what "stanning" meant on Urban Dictionary - learn something new everday! I love that Eminem song so I should have figured it out). I've been thinking this forum needed some kind of "What are you listening to?"-type thread. Part alt-country and part honky-tonker, this is really solid stuff. Jack Ingram: Cool choice. Just realized that I do not have any of his music... High time to change that. [... Edited... ] Awesome! A lot to discover here. Didn't expect anything less... :) BTW That Rushlow album is f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c!
I currently have Sturgill's High Top Mountain on repeat. Wish I would've found this album sooner...it's great. I watched it again this morning & realized Jack makes an appearance as the lead singer for the house band when Sandra Bullock & Harry Connick Jr. are dancing. I have no idea how Ive always missed him.....

Don't mean to make an off-topic post, but how did you guys make the 30 album collages? Those are awesome. BTW, great taste everyone. I used the brute force method. [Lost my Adobe Pro and Photo Shop software] Drag & Drop the album covers wanted directly from the web into a .doc file. Resize them to avatar size if needed. Have a .jpg made of the finished work and upload the picture to any image hoster (I use photobucket) or upload picture directly from your PC to Pulse.

Jamming to "Dearly Beloved" as I type this. Awesome CD. "Stealing Kisses", the title track, "Missippi Girl", "Dearly Beloved", "Wish For You", "Sunshine & Summertime"...the whole CD really. Still probably one of my 5 or 10 favourite albums of all time.

Dan Seals: Greatest HitsStill research related listen. Cannot really fathom that this was/is considered to be country. Really gave this a chance... Don't like it, quite honestly. OT: sabre14 " Bop" is so flop! I'm so sorry! :) Trent Willmon: Trent WillmonInspired by sabre14; see some posts above. Haven't listen to it for quite some while. Although it's from 2004 it hasn't aged a bit; and it's like listening to a greatest hits set. The single "Beer Man" is the worst track by a long shot. " Home Sweet Holiday Inn" is the stand out here. Willie Nelson: Band Of BrothersWas in the mood for some soothing and genuine sound with real instruments and no studio gimmick. Willie delivers all perfectly.
