sabre14 I love how much you love The Farm Inc.! That album was under-appreciated I think, sure I think some of it was a bit generic but their energy sold the weaker tracks and then they had a few amazing songs on their like your favorite "Be Grateful"! 'Anywhere But Here' is easily my favorite album Chris Cagle has released to date and it also has the best singles from it as well. I don't think I'll ever understand how "Miss Me Baby" and "Anywhere But Here" flopped so badly. :( I love Amy, she's got such an interesting way of writing songs I really wish she could've been a big star so we could've got more from her. Hope she puts out a 3rd album one day. My favorite song from her is "I Would Cry" the hook in there is one of my favorites. I'd love to hear Carrie Underwood cover one of her songs as I think Amy's style would sound great with Carrie singing. 'Comin' To Your City' will always be under appreciated because I don't think the singles really sold how fun and creative the album really was. The title track was just trying to be another "Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy" and I think this is their most well rounded album between the goofy and the serious. 'Horse Of A Different Color' was a better album but it leaned a little too far towards their goofy side I think.

^ Kanenrá:ke The Farm's energy is fantastic. I've seen them live and I kinda met them (didn't actually shake hands but was a few feet away, lol). "That 100 Miles" and "Sweet Sweet Sunshine" are the best album tracks and I love how they made Damien's "Walkin'" into a country song. Nick Hoffman said "Sweet Sweet Sunshine" probably would have been the next release if they opted for another single. Amy's music is fantastic. "I Would Cry" is also my favorite but "I Think You're Beautiful" is close behind and the live version on It's Time is almost flawless. "Love's Got At Attitude" and "Men Don't Change" were so close to becoming top 15 hits I think. They just couldn't get through that 20's barrier on the chart. If those were released now with how long singles last, she would have gotten an album out. Comin' To Your City is worth the listen just for "Never Mind Me" and "Leap Of Faith" alone. I also think "20 Margaritas" is so goofy it's clever. I have no earthly idea why "Wal-Mart Parking Lot" bombed. "Anywhere But Here" I kinda get with no momentum and Brice Long releasing the song earlier that year. But "Wal-Mart Parking Lot" I thought would for sure get him to the top 10 and it flamed out hard.

Love And Theft: "Whiskey On My Breath" - 2015 - Country/Pop/Rock Have this on repeat; but sparks aren't really flying. The title track is by far the best effort here. Also, worth mentioning: "Everybody Drives Drunk", "Tan Lines" (sounds awfully like the bastard musical child of Florida Georgia Line and Kenny Chesney), "Wrong Baby Wrong"; and, "Let's Get Drunk And Make Friends" which is the only track reminiscent of country heritage. Whiskey On My Breath

My most recent batch (all excellent, expect for the George Jones disc which is okay but not his best): George Jones - You Ought to Be Here With Me (1990) Steve Earle – Transcendental Blues (2000) Ray Wylie Hubbard – Dangerous Spirits (1997) Townes Van Zandt - Townes Van Zandt (1969) Guy Clark - Dublin Blues (1995) Joe Ely - Honky Tonk Masquerade (1978)

Anyway as far as the Earle and Mavericks go, they're both solid IMO. You'll most likely enjoy the Mavericks more. Earles feels more idk "fun" than his previous efforts and I'm a little biased towards him so I enjoyed it a lot. Considering "Mono" was my introduction to the Mavericks I was very impressed. Favorite track on Earles was King Of The Blues and favorite track on Mavericks was What Am I Supposed To Do. I'll have my reviews in the member content later this week

The Jompson Brothers (basically Chris Stapleton) - "The Jompson Brothers" .....I just came across this recently, and I'm absolutely blown away. I had only heard Chris Stapleton songs via concert videos on youtube, but I'm so glad I found this. "Barely Alive" and "Inside Your Head" should be blaring on speakers worldwide. Holy cow. Holy voice. Holy greatness. The album is 9 songs, about 40 minutes long....definitely worth your while... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vm4yP3OgYtA

Jo Dee Messina: Me Released: 2014 Rating: 7.8/10 I'm probably the last one to the party with this album, but I finally listened to it tonight. I am overall impressed with it! Vocally Jo Dee sounds as great as ever. The reason this album only got a 7.8 out of 10, however, is because it is good, but it does not really have many songs with the "wow" factor that so many of her releases have had before. You know, like how you hear songs like "Head Carolina, Tails California", "Bye-Bye", "Bring On The Rain", "Burn", etc., and just know that you are listening to a huge hit (even if you did not know that they had been hits). Just about every song would still be 4 or 5 stars on my iPod, and I am sure I would connect with them more over time with subsequent listens. The main song that does stand out immediately, however, is "Say Goodbye to Superman", and what a perfect song it is to end the album! That song has such a powerful message delivered in an obscure way, combining a child's construct of his father as a super hero with his mother's stress at her failing marriage... The bridge is one of the most powerful things I have ever heard. I really like "Peace Sign" as well. It's a shame it couldn't have been a bigger hit. Overall this album contains nothing that I found unpleasant or that I disliked. I am very happy with it, and could see myself purchasing it someday. I DEFINITELY want to delve deeper into Jo Dee's catalog, because aside from her hits I know nothing from her earlier albums. Highlights: Say Goodbye to Superman, Peace Sign, Love on a Maybe, I'm Free Dislikes: None! "Not Dead Yet" is probably my least favorite, but even it isn't a skipper.

Aaron Watson's new record The Underdog. It is one of the best albums from top to bottom. Not one bad song. And, im completely obsessed with the final track called Fence Post.

Got a couple more albums to add to my list! Kellie Pickler: 100 Proof Released: 2012 Rating: 10/10 What a stunning album. Every single song is amazing. She clearly put so much thought and effort into this release, and gave us something that is straight from her heart. The fact that radio gave it the cold shoulder is so sickening and egregious. Kellie really pulled through and proved herself as an artist with this release. And the fact that she has continued to stick to her guns with this heartfelt traditional music ever since this album came out despite the lack of radio support is commendable. Many artists should follow her example. I cannot wait for more music from her hopefully this year! Highlights: Mother's Day, 100 Proof, The Letter (To Daddy), Long As I Never See You Again Dislikes: None Terri Clark: Pain To Kill Released: 2003 Rating: 9.7/10 Yet another wonderful album from a completely underrated female artist. This album is, in my opinion, Terri's best, even though I enjoy all of her music. She has a tendency to strike a perfect balance between radio-friendly songs and memorable album tracks. And what's better is, her radio-friendly material is every bit as substantial as her album tracks! One of my favorite parts of this album is that it has nostalgia value for me. It was the album she had out when I became aware of her (I saw the "Three Mississippi music video on CMT one day and my dad told me I would probably like her other music), and so I got to follow this era and watch it progress. Back in the days when she was very much still relevant in the States... So this album brings back a lot of special memories, and basically exemplifies everything I love about Terri.
Highlights: Three Mississippi, I Just Wanna Be Mad, The One You Love, Not A Bad Thing, Working Girl Dislikes: "Better Than You" is sometimes a skipper for me, just because it is kind've plodding and slow. The chorus to this song is so long! But it is still a wonderful song 90% of the time. And then "The First To Fall" is a song that I never really got into when I was younger. It is one that I have come to appreciate more with age, now that it actually makes sense and I can appreciate the vocal performance.
