Finally, Pretend really messed up her campaign. RCA must really believe in her though because lately upon album arrival their female r&b artist don't get another single.

glad the era isn't done and that they picked the best choice to keep it chugging along. i know pretend destroyed a lot of her momentum, but i'll always be happy that it saw single treatment.

Hopefully not too late... but this is a hot track that's a surefire smash in a perfect world. It's well documented that we live in an IMPERFECT world though, so we'll have to hope for the best and see what happens. Why not throw some fresh fuel on this fading flame though? A good guest star on a remix could do wonders.

It's well documented that we live in an IMPERFECT world though, so we'll have to hope for the best and see what happens. Why not throw some fresh fuel on this fading flame though? A good guest star on a remix could do wonders. Mmm, I want her to at least try to hold her own ground one time before she sends out yet another song with a feature on it. She's done that four times already, counting the remixes for her first two singles. AHOD is hot enough that she really shouldn't need someone to boost it. This song is hot, but I am curious why they finally decided to release this single when they should have done it 3-4 months ago, and what they expect it to do for her or their bottom line. It will be very hard to resurrect sales for the era at this point, though sending it to pop and rhythmic would be the proper response to this. I'm thinking they just don't want her to go on Iggy's tour without an 'official' single at radio, but I hope they don't rely on the tour to be the only thing that nudges it along. I'm also a little bit torn because I don't want her to be stereotyped as the modern-day crunk 'n b girl with club hits and an occasional ignored-but-obligatory ballad, when she has stuff like Bet and Cold Sweat in her arsenal. But at this point I think AHOD is the only correct choice for a single to bounce back from Pretend, so I can easily make peace with this.

It was her snippet performance of it on the BET Awards (along with all that dancing during "2 On") that sold me on her. Loved "Pretend" and was shocked it didn't catch on.

It's about damn time. Releasing "Pretend" as the second single after a song like "2 On" is one of the worst decisions I've seen in a while. That really killed her momentum. It's frustrating because this and "Funny How Time Flies" were blatantly obvious choices. Even "Feels Like Vegas" or "Thug Cry" would've been better choice. Hell, sending "Wildfire" to Rhythmic or Pop would've......let me stop. LOL
Sorry, I've been rooting for her for since Reverie and I just hate how badly she's been managed so far

they might be pulling this with this apparent iggy single and "drop that kitty" looking to be pushed.

they might be pulling this with this apparent iggy single and "drop that kitty" looking to be pushed. People are saying Iggy is featured on this cuz: "13. On what’s in store after the Aquarius Tour is over: Well, I’m working on new music right now, so we’re gonna release it as soon as it’s done, but obviously right now I’m focused on touring. “All Hands On Deck” is actually the next single, and it has a feature, but it’s not out yet, it’s out very soon! After that, I’m going on tour with Iggy Azalea in the States, so that will be in April/May, and then we hit June and WHO KNOWS what’s going to happen after that?!" www.buzzfeed.com/stephanieanderson/tinashe-down-under#.dyJLqZnX8YAlthough Tinashe just tweeted the single cover and has no "f/ Iggy" on it... So it's probably a "remix".
