GT is a more creative video. But, BIM was the right type of video to get people to watch. I wonder how high the views would have been if bey, Miley and Katy were actually in the video interacting with madonna? Now that would have gone viral.

Well, that's likely but it doesn't mean much because madonna just started using vevo. Most of her videos are all over the place. WB was for awhile adding Ms videos to their YouTube channel in LQ. But, at least now she's catching up and figuring out how to use social media to her advantage.

Like a Prayer would be at 5B by now, lol. The big ones would have been "Justify My Love" & "Erotica." Those two would have broken the Vevo record. Its fun to speculate, but back then she had MTV. She exploited MTV as much as she could back then. 14,187,985 2,571,594

For me LFL and BIM are pretty close as videos. Ghosttown ended up kind of dull to me. I'd probably do:
1. LFL 2. BIM 3. GT

Yeah, it's interesting to think how it would have played out had what is around today was around all throughout her career. Like A Prayer would have been billions for sure. That and Human Nature are my two favs from her. And Ray Of Light video is pretty epic.

If by "typical," you mean darn strong, I'd agree. :) And you were talking about the videos in that instance, yes? Surprised BIM hasn't turned up on Dance/Mix Show Airplay as of yet. I meant predictable . Ghosttown is like all her big ballads which were fine in the past but needed a new twist these days thats all

Not sure what's "predictable" about "Ghostown," norb, but we're all entitled to our views. :)
The views counts on vevo.com are higher than the ones on YouTube/Vevo- it had been the reverse. Wonder why that trend is happening now.
On vevo.com, it will soon pass 23 million, which will make for a comparable week to last, worldwide, anyhow. We'll see if the sales dip will push it off the H100.

I just don't like the dancing scene in GT. I think it doesn't match the beat of the song.
BIM tho I think is one of her best videos. I mean, you really can't compare it to her iconic videos of the 80's and 90's, but I definitely feel only Hung Up is better from the 00's onward. Even better than Die Another Day and Girl Gone Wild. I think it's terrific and perfectly embodies Madonna as who she truly is. A badass.
Oh and 24.5M views. I think it will definitely still be on the Hot 100 this week.

Its not even better than the Ghosttown video, let alone her other videos from the 2000s. But then I dont think Hung Up is one of her best videos either, so I guess we have different opinions on whats great.

I;m with you on Hung Up. In fact, that video, for me, was a huge disappointment. You had this huge powerful song and then the video was sort of a nothing that she wasn't even in half the time. I know others love it, but I was very disappointed. I know that she was injured so she couldn't do much, but then change the concept or something.

"Hung Up" was nominated for MTV Video of the Year, before the awards went to pot by letting fans vote and such. :) Granted, I agree that it's not one of her best videos (she had many better that weren't nominated for the category), but it was an "event" video, I guess
The views for BIM have held up well in week 2- people continue to watch, even if it's not inspiring larger sales for the track

I was pretty much obsessed with literally all that was Hung Up. Like, that solidified what a bad ass she is in my mind. I mean, she was amazing ever since her debut, but how many artists have such a career-defining song and album decades after their beginning? Like, how many artists actually make significant, quality music like that ever, and especially that far into their careers? I can think of very few parallels or even people who will do that in the future.
Sorry, my inner Madonna stan emerged a little there. **reins it in**
Great that the views are good for this. I doubt radio will give it a shot, but I think the video was worth it at least :)

Pretty much every gay bar across the country (and probably world) had HU on a loop for 6 months straight. The leaks drove everyone insane. Photoshop was blowing up. Forums were blowing up. Everyone was making HU signatures and avatars. The album artwork and font was perfect for making gifs and sigs. I even went as far as to install a new stereo system in my car specifically to blast HU in the best form possible. Same with headphones. Bought the most expensive kind just to play HU, lol.

the love for "hung up" now still perplexes me a bit. i like it but it's far from one of her best imo...also i swear i remember the reaction (on this board and in general) being more mixed upon its release in 2005.

I heard a podcast today making fun of her voice in BIM, sounding like a child's. While the commentary did annoy me, it did conjure memories of the younger Madonna voice from say, the song Material Girl..with that almost respectfully squeaky innocence. I think that makes BIM even more special and obviously timeless. Meanwhile the video is now towards 28 mill!
