Yeah this one isn't going to amount to much unfortunately. "It Feels Good" has actually lost over 400k in total audience on MB over the past five weeks. Its selling decent I guess for the amount of spins it has gotten but in this chart environment, a new artist (even though this is his second single) with this kind of song is a recipe for a under performing single. This song is so catchy but I really think radio is a tad hesitant with this since it is so much different than what's popular on country radio right now. Nobody has this song in heavy or even medium rotation, and with this chart congestion you get a song that is stuck on the edge of the top 50. It's more of what the odds are that you are so unlucky to linger around the same two notches for 8 weeks (bar one, of course) Hey, at least Drake's song is reliable, lol.

I'll be seeing him live this October (likely 3 times lol ) when he opens for Little Big Town, so I revisited this. I love the song and Drake is an excellent singer, but I remember being a little mixed on his vocals. He tends to be growly and shouty. However, after listening again, I'm not nearly as bothered as I thought I was the first time around. We'll see what I think when I see him. At the very least, I'm quite certain that I will be impressed with him from a talent standpoint.

I will be seeing Drake in September in his hometown which is the town next to mine. He is doing a free show for the city. I saw him a couple of years ago when Simple Life was around the top 40. He was a really nice guy and put on a great show.

Can someone explain how this is, all of a sudden, making some move upward on mediabase. I see it got a few adds last week and the play seems to be increasing. Is it a possibility that this is going to get an "on the verge" pickup and that is the precursor?

Is it a possibility that this is going to get an "on the verge" pickup and that is the precursor? No, the "On The Verge" selection was just made with Cam and "Burning House." I noticed this song's steady updates as well but I'm on mobile and it will take me a bit to access this song's leaders. For now its looking like "It Feels Good" is slowly catching on, albeit late.

Just the slow, clogged charts clearing up a little bit and the need for real tempo records at radio now. This one is the most-uptempo (According to the advertisement in Aircheck on Monday) right now. I love the song so any success it gets is fine by me.

"It Feels Good" only moved up one position on MB this week, from #45 to #44, but it increased 102 spins and over 500k in total audience which is by far its best week since cracking the MB top 50. KKBQ in Houston, who seems to be helping everybody these days, accounted for about 30-35% of this song's increased audience this week and about 25% "It Feels Good's" total audience this week.
Drake's single is 15 weeks old, which is right on the cusp of whether a song can catch a second wind and last another 10-15 weeks, or peter out. This week though is certainly promising and with decent sales, hopefully this can gain some more momentum.

"It Feels Good" looks to be heading for Drake's second career top 40 single as it gained 113 more spins and nearly 700k more in audience this week, with roughly 1.2 million in audience gains the past two weeks (KKBQ in Houston continues to be a supporter for this one with 400k of its audience accounted for by them). Its sales have been decent to good for a while now and its exposure on The Highway has certainly helped. It moved up one more spot to #43 on MB this week.
I'm glad Dot Records is sticking with this one as I really enjoy the production and instrumentation on this track, and I have no qualms with Drake's vocals as they fit this song extremely well.

"It Feels Good" will more than likely break the MB top 40 this week, which means countdown spins come the weekend of July 25th and 26th. Drake's song has gained 77 spins and 400k in audience this week, and there will be two recurrents (Carrie and Tim). He also has gotten past Hunter on the rolling chart (currently at #41), but that's mainly due to Westwood One cutting some spins off "21" the past seven days, which has resulted in a loss of nearly 300k in audience for Hunter's song. Drake of course is already in the Billboard top 40 at #39 but it would be nice for him to benefit from some extra spins.
This single is going on 19 weeks old and this portion of the chart could very well determine whether or not this song will end up going on to be a 35-40 week charter and break the top 25. It took a very long time to get going due to the onslaught of new singles during the spring but it looks like Dot Records was able to weather the storm.

I heard this on the radio for the first time the other day. I was a little surprised because I'd kinda forgotten about this song since I don't particularly care for it. My mom switched the station not long after it started though because she hated it, lol. I still think the production on this is the most interesting thing about it, but the vocal just doesn't really do it for me. He sounds more like an indie folk/rock singer to me and ultimately not exactly someone whose voice I care for.

After that promising stretch Drake had where he surged into the top 40, "It Feels Good" has had a rough go at it lately. Over the past two weeks its lost 10 spins and 160k in total audience. The August 3rd dated chart saw an increase of 800k in audience but the week before that saw Drake break even in audience, so three of the past four weeks have not been kind to this song. "It Feels Good" drops two more spots (without a bullet) this week on MB, to #36. The amount of adds also has me concerned as only 3 stations have added this song the past three weeks.
This song was released in March and while there's still time to make this song a top 20-25 single, that time is running out.

I'm thinking this one might not get much higher. "It Feels Good" has lost 300k in total audience the past three weeks and the only reason Drake will regain his bullet this week is because of the 8 spin increase he garnered. It got knocked down two spots to #38 on MB this week, after working its way up to #33 a few weeks back.
A massive amount of songs have seen bad updates the past couple days due to the new songs from Luke, Blake, Tim and Carrie gobbling up extra spins but Drake's song has been having an especially rough go at it in the month of August.

You forgot to mention Jason Aldean's new one is also gobbling up as well. I think Drake is definitley a frontrunner to leave soon and I don't see songs from Parmalee Big & Rich and Lady A moving up much higher. I give credit for them outlasting the storm of releases but this is such an odd song I also don't blame radio for not fully jumping on board.

"It Feels Good" lost 67 spins and nearly 200k in audience today, so this one looks finished. I need to see more updates like this one to know for sure that Dot did pull promotion for this but either way it won't get any higher whether they threw in the towel now or next week.

"It Feels Good" is sent recurrent by Billboard Airplay tonight. It's peak was #33 on both Billboard and MB.
I'm expecting Dot to officially give up the fight in regards to promotion this week as well.

As expected, stations dropped "It Feels Good" in rotation on their playlists yesterday as this song lost 76 spins and 400k in audience today. I'm expecting this song to spend at least one more week in the MB top 50, then perhaps fall low enough to land outside the MB top 50 for its second bulletless week on the September 8th issued MB chart.

Both were unique to the artists and are proof to my point in the Michael Ray "Real Men Love Jesus" thread where it seems "me too" is what programmers really want right now from brand new artists. That means I'm not real confident about William Michael Morgan's "I Met A Girl."

This sounds nothing like what's popular on country radio currently, and I agree that it never screamed "hit" to me either.
