No, the band is still together (or so they say), but they're all doing solo projects. They posted an update on the future of fun. on Facebook:

I know most people seem to like the Bleachers more but honestly, I never cared much for I Wanna Get Better. I like this more even though it still pales in comparison to fun's singles.

Interesting that this is going to pop right away - the AAA release seemed natural to me, but I was expecting it to have to cross over after succeeding there and on HAC. I like it, though!

It's not bad. I do like Fun's music better, though.

Better than "Carry On" and "We Are Young"...but I'd still say "Some Nights" and both Bleachers singles are a better. Cool song though!

Honestly if I didn't already know this was a Nate Ruess solo, I'd think it was a Fun song.

I completely agree with alfonzo, I would have just assumed it was a fun. song without knowing, but that's expected I guess.
I like it a lot though!

I think this will explode then fall off real quick. It's catchy and has name brand, but it's very neutered compared to fun's past material.

This sounds just like their old material except without the insane catchiness and/or unique, thoughtful lyrics that made their old material stand out to me.

I definitely think he needs at least one more successful album with fun. before he has any shot at a solo career. This is just OK.

Selected as this month's iHeartRadio On The Verge artist (I think for pop while Rachel Platten's at HAC). Wouldn't have expected that choice.

Kinda surprised at this getting an On the Verge deal. I was gonna put money on Who Is Fancy getting it. I feel like this'll be like "Stuck On A Feeling" and crash and burn once the deal is gone. This doesn't seem like the kind of song to catch on. It's good, but not the perfect fit for CHR.

I liked fun.'s songs, but for some reason, I can't stand Nate's vocals on this. I guess I was still sick of hearing him on P!nk's "Just Give Me a Reason" but then again, I didn't get tired of the fun. songs?

really? this over octahate? over goodbye? over overload? over worth it? Z100 add this week - so it definitely seems like this is the pop OTV pick. Regarding some of those alternative choices: Worth It - already receiving the On the Verge Boost at Rhythmic (and yet has weirdly been moving very slowly there) Goodbye - received a very favorable look at launch, has power behind it and has already been added and played by many of the top stations (including top iHeart ones like Z100 and KIIS). If it can't move on its own at this point, that's its own fault. And in addition to being ineligible for any form of sympathy, I wonder if it would even receive a demonstrable impact from OTV (since the key stations have already given it a solid look). Overload - Good song, but it's not markedly better than Nothing Without Love (certainly not to the point where we need to treat this iHeart decision as a travesty) OctaHate - I'd be okay with this one - it is a great candidate - but it's kind of a victim of circumstance. The previous OTV artist was a solo female (Tori Kelly) and the very similarly positioned Tove Lo received the push a little while back. Even though "OctaHate" is objectively "fresher" than "Nothing Without Love," the latter is actually fresher within the confines of the pop On the Verge program. I'm not saying I love this choice. I still think this program should focus on true discovery, and considering Nate Ruess' very recognizable voice powered fun.'s monster pop hits (in addition to a monster pop duet for which he was credited as Nate Ruess), I don't really think he should count. (But Nick Jonas' "Jealous" is one of the program's big success stories, and the circumstance here isn't THAT different, so what can you do?) However, I can't get mad at iHeart for choosing this SONG. It's a very solid piece of music, and it features a killer vocal that would be one of the 3 or 4 best at pop right now.

Obvious due to the OTV deal, but #1 Most Added with 48 adds this week.

Everyone already knows who Nate Ruess is. Could they have not used OTV on a new and rising star?
