I was really hesitant with the singles released leading up to the release but hearing everything put together, WOW. Very strong follow-up to her debut. Smart production, smart lyrics, perfect length.

Important release-week piece of #promo #content: ya girl had an Instagram account to review onion rings, which the crooked media got shut down. Sad! She confirmed that she was the onion ring reviewer on Instagram in the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon yesterday.

She's so cute in that interview. I love how confident she's gotten as a personality and especially as a performer since her debut.
And this album gets better and better with each listen. I still wish something interesting happened with the "boom boom boom" portion of "The Louvre" (like seriously, can I get some booms at least?) and I wish she had done something amazing with "Loveless." She gives us that tease and I want more. The only thing that I find unnecessary is "Liability (Reprise)" now.
And is it just me, or does the Chromeo Remix of "Green Light" work way better than it actually should? Cute.

I love this album, definitely a strong follow up to Pure Heroine (as it should be after all these years, take notes Katy)
Can't decide which I prefer atm, this or Halsey's latest. My new pop princesses!!!

Very impressed with this album. The pre-release tracks had me worried, as I only really liked "Sober" and tolerated "Green Light," but in sequence, everything on this album works. So refreshing after the dry spell of good albums lately.

Wow wow she did THAT. Amazing how Perfect Places has shot up in my brain due to its placement as the closer of the album. It's perfect.
(I'm also appreciative of how non-Bleachers the majority of the album sounds.)

The album is really good, wow. Very impressed. Perfect Places is so good. I wish/hope it will be a hit.
My favorite single track off the initial listen is Hard Feelings.

What is this?!?!?!
I C O N I C .

To be f**king honest, I think this is even better than Pure Heroine. I have doubted her sophomore album will top her debut, because it's already flawless. This album is such an historical piece of euphoric dance music, listening it in 3AM is a f**king EXPERIENCE. It's up there with E-MO-TION as one of the best pop albums of this decade.

This is so much better than Pure Heroine for me. It's not even close. Listening to this made me try and revisit PH today and I still have a hard time getting through it without getting bored. The production really holds it back, no matter how dynamic she is or her lyrics are. I think she did an amazing job of diversifying her sound, yet retaining all of the strengths from her debut.

I can't even put into words how important this album is to me. It's like every song was tailor-made for the past year of my life. Thank you so much, Lorde. The general public doesn't deserve the greatness that is Melodrama. A+

Hm, I don't know. I was ready to count her out after the lead single dropped, but I'm enjoying this much more than I thought I would. I just wish I found the music itself to be as exceptional as the story is. I echo the sentiment that this album pretty much describes my 2016; in fact, it's more in line with where I've been than any other released in recent memory. Hopefully she can find that balance next time around because I feel like she's got a Great Album™ in her. It might not be Melodrama, but I still think Lorde is one to watch.

I'm really not a big fan for her before (except for "Team" and "Yellow Flicker Beat"). Yet listening to this really gives me goosebumps. It's so well-crafted yet also so raw.

This album is fantastic. I wasn't a huge fan of her first album - but the sounds, lyrics, and melodies here are all amazing. Well worth the wait.

I'm impressed with this record, which is surprising considering I never understood the hype surrounding her debut. "Hard Feelings/Loveless" is my favourite track.

Yeah, this album shows a lot of growth and maturity. I'm definitely impressed. On another note, Republic has done an awful job with its rollout. Rolling Stone gives the album 4/5 stars: AllMusic gives the album 4/5 stars: Slant gives the album 4.5/5 stars: Entertainment Weekly gives the album an A:

This is a great solid pop record that actually has substance to it which is rare these days. She has such a fresh sound and style compared to most of what is out there!

Reviews have been astounding. This has GRAMMYs written all over it. Without a hit and half a year away from final votes? That would be nice but not likely!
