I just can't get into her vocals at all. The music is 70's enticing, but her vocals kill it for me.

It's a shame Future People is struggling, but I love this too so I don't mind the switch.

This group is so horrible. So tired of having them pushed with very few people liking them.

This group is so horrible. So tired of having them pushed with very few people liking them. their album got great reviews from critics and hit #1 on the Billboard 200, so with critical and commercial success in hand, I'm not so sure that very few people like them. I'd venture a guess that it's just you that doesn't.

This group is so horrible. So tired of having them pushed with very few people liking them. Yeah there clearly is a market for them, and just because you're not a fan doesn't mean that others don't enjoy it. The blues rock revival artists might have a smaller audience than say the Indie crowd has, but their fans are far more loyal. They have a unique sound, and that's why their album sold as well as it did.

Between plummeting radio spins after an obvious payola push, I just don't think they are as good as all critics make them out to be. But then again, a woman leading a southern blues band...critics almost HAVE to like them. Kind of like Leon Bridges. Good album, but is it THAT good? It's certainly unoriginal, but hey, mimic the classics and your critically golden.

i was definitely NOT a fan of this band when their first album came out a few years ago. "Hold On" was...um, tolerable i guess, but i hated the rest despite all the critical acclaim (& i'm one who usually agrees w/ the music critics)
but this album, i don't know, there's something different...the production maybe? it's more accessible..."Don't Wanna Fight" was flawless...i'm not prone to like the bluesy stuff, but sometimes an artist just elevates it to a whole other level (the Stones did that back in the 70s for example)
this...well, i can clearly understand that its not for everyone...but i defy anyone to listen to this and tell me they don't have talent...you don't have to like something to respect it.

Wow, this is surprisingly heavy. By far the best thing I've heard by the Alabama Shakes.

This is now my favorite by them. I wonder if this can chart on Alt?

Count me in as one of those who aren't a fan of this. Her voice at the chorus (the "gimme all your love" part) is grating.
Their album is great though when I listened to it four months ago.

I think we are looking at flop #2 of this era.
31 28 ALABAMA SHAKES Gimme All Your Love 149 151 -2 0.184
That said, I don't think it matters, since their second and third singles from their last album didn't do that well compared to "Hold On", and "Sound & Color" has sold well for a rock album (271k to date). They need Grammy buzz next year for S&C go Gold though, as most sales of their last album were after Grammy buzz and an SNL performance.
Also, I take back what I said that S&C is better than their last record, though I remember it being a decent record when I listened to it about half a year ago.

This song is pure gold. I feel like this is another one of those bands that doesn't have a true format home. They kind of fit Alternative, kind of fit Active, and kind of fit Country, but aren't a perfect fit for either format. It's a shame because they make some of the best rock blues around. I'm sure the Grammy's will treat them well though.

Absolutely love this album, it's in my top ten. They aren't really super radio-friendly though but this song is a standout.

this song bounced back up to #28 (due to songs going recurrent?) but i don't think this is done yet...i see it having longevity on AAA even if it never cracks the top 15
