Kelly Clarkson's new album has received a few stylistic comparisons to Taylor Swift's 1989. Which album do you think is better?

For now, 1989. But once I hear the rest of the songs from PBP, that could change.

I love every single song on '1989'. On 'Piece By Piece', I only love one song and that is 'Heartbeat Song'...

PBP with ease, though I'm warming up to 1989 as a whole. For now, 1989. But once I hear the rest of the songs from PBP, that could change. So, basically, once you listen to the other album in question?

People are still on a Taylor high right now, this is ACTUALLY PRETTY CLOSE.
I can't vote yet. I'm really stuck on this. They're both great Pop albums with such eclectic sounds and very few skip-worthy tracks.

Tbh I am on a Kelly high right now and that's making this seem a lot less close than it is. Right not PbP is blowing 1989 out of the water for me, but with a lot of perspective I'm sure it'll even out. Taylor's album is better constructed but Kelly's vocal dexterity and variety of texture is just… virtuosic.

Kelly for me. I only really enjoy "Shake It Off" & "Blank Space" from 1989, where as I like the majority of Kelly's new album. :)

I like a few of the songs on Piece by Piece - primarily 'Heartbeat Song', 'Invincible', 'Take You High', 'Dance With Me', and the title track - but I love almost every track on 1989. So, that.

Taylor Swift-1989 by far.The better album, the better artist. Besides the promo singles on Kelly's album, the album itself isn't that great.

I love Kelly but Taylor takes it for me, although Piece by Piece is definitely one of her most coherent albums I think.

This is like comparing the actual Eiffel Tower to that miniature one they have at Kings Island.
(Note: Kelly = true Eiffel)

Even if her music was good, Taylor may be the worst singer in the history of the music industry. I just can't get past her voice. When I listen to every song off Piece By Piece I'll make a judgement then, but this one is obvious.

I listened to Piece by Piece and I still think that 1989 is better, but both albums are amazing!

Piece by Piece is NOT better than 1989, whatsoever.
It is an excellent offering from Kelly. Probably one of her best. But very few people can match Swift's ability to construct an album.

Taylor's album is pop perfection. Kelly's album is great, but it just doesn't compare to or matches the awesomeness of 1989.

I like Kelly infinitely more than Taylor. That said, 1989 is a near perfect pop album. I really like PBP based on initial listens, but it doesn't have a Style or a Blank Space or a Wildest Dreams. None of the PBP tracks are the level of the best 1989 tracks.

Kelly is an infinitely better vocalist, but I ultimately agree with popbox in that 1989 just edges it. It is one of those special pop cds that only comes once every 5 years or so while PBP is "just" a great pop cd. I don't know if that makes sense. Both are outstanding though.

1989 is the epitome of overrated. I choose Piece By Piece.
