Another rough week for Lady A. Long Stretch Of Love so far has seen minimal movement this week. While this song is nowhere done Top 20 is just gonna be near impossible to achieve with too many fast rising songs behind it. Kenny, FGL, and Cam are all closing in fast. It won't be long before new one from Blake and also Chris Young close in as well.
This wouldn't be a problem if there were songs looking to go recurrrent ahead of it which unfortunatley there isn't. Brad Paisleys song just won't die. Same thing with like Chase Rice and Dustin Lynch. These songs are kinda I think really slowing down the slow moving songs like Maddie & Tae, Kip Moore Dan + Shay. This is why I believe Kip and Maddie & Tae are probably gonna have really terribile opening sales. Lady A has to shoot for a Top 20. Hopefully they can get some momentum back this next era.

Sorry for the double-post but how has this one been doing lately. Is Top 20 still in the cards or is this looking to peak soon.

Jason, Brantley, and Luke are all falling right now, and the only real threat behind it is "Burning House" (and maybe "Run Away With You" but idk). It needs to hurry up if it wants to go up further though, because of the new singles from TBP (even though it sounds like it's going to be really poppy and I'm not sure how country radio will respond) and Tim. Plus Blake's "Gonna" and Luke's "Strip It Down" are going to roar up the charts in the coming weeks. Jason's follow-up to "Tonight Looks Good On You" should be on its way as well soon. Anything is still possible at this point, but I am going to predict a top 15 peak for this song.

I'd love to see this at least manage to peak a spot or two higher than "Freestyle" because I'd find it unfortunate for that song to best "Long Stretch of Love" in chart performance since this one is way better.

Sales have picked up for this one over time. It's still selling worse than most stuff around it on the chart and these sales are particularly embarrassing for a band that would have been considered on the A-list just a year or two ago, but I can see why radio would finally choose to convert this. It's inoffensive radio fodder with tempo and it matches the sound most stations seem to be looking for, so even if sales aren't great I can see this being used as a filler on the radio like "Young & Crazy."
That being said, this is 20 weeks old already. Lady Antebellum is the type of act that isn't likely to last more than 25 weeks on the chart, but then again neither are Brad Paisley and Eric Church and both have managed unusually long chart runs with their most recent singles. "Crushin' It" stayed on the chart for 27 weeks and "Like a Wrecking Ball" is 24 weeks old and looking like it could hang on just another two or three weeks to squeak out a Top 10 finish, as Brad's single did. I'd say these prolonged chart runs are a result of a really soft chart right now. Since there aren't a lot of big hits in the Top 20, maybe radio won't mind keeping LSOL in rotation long enough for it to achieve a Top 15 finish.

Sales have picked up for this one over time. Probably due to discount? It's at 69 cents now on iTunes

Now it's back to where it was -- barely inside the top 300 on iTunes. Just absolutely dreadful sales here, and I expect this one to fizzle out within the next month or so (maybe 2 months at most). Big & Rich, Parmalee, and Blake Shelton are also selling horribly with their latest singles, but I think those ones will last for quite a while longer than Lady A's song will.

And if Zac Brown Band sends the album version of "Beautiful Drug" to country radio as its next single, LA can release "Something Better" as the follow-up to "Long Stretch Of Love" (sorry, couldn't resist).

I know you meant it as a joke but... "Long Stretch of Love" is having a rough week... I hope it can pick up and go top 15, I'm not hoping for much more at this point.

The Acoustic Version of "Something Better" could easily be released to country radio.

Hopefully this break will be really good for them. They desperately need a breath of creative energy right now. I have not said anything about this song yet, but I have been hearing it a lot lately so I guess it is time. I do like it well enough, but it sounds tired to me. This song is in a really weird key, so the chorus basically just emphasizes a ton of minor notes. It is a very unique style. I would say it is a fresh, innovative idea, except it is the exact same strategy that was used in "Bartender"... I thought "Bartender" was really good when it first came out, but it was quickly killed by overplay. Now with "Freestyle" being so terrible and "Long Stretch Of Love" using weird minor keys that "Bartender" already killed for me, I am growing weary of Lady A...

Does this one have a shot at Top 15 this next week. Even though it's only Tuesday with 2 surefire recurrent songs in Dustin Lynch and Sam Hunt. Shouldn't they be Top 15 as aren't Cam and Chris Young too far behind on Billboard. Since they got to #17 last night.

Sorry for the double post but. I was just listening to Bob Kingsley Country Top 40 and Bob accidentally said Hillary Lidnsey instead of Scott. Hey sabre14 is there any chance this one can sneak in a week in the top 15 or is it about done.

Hey sabre14 is there any chance this one can sneak in a week in the top 15 or is it about done. It has to stay alive for another week, at least. It lost close to 500k in audience on MB this week but Capitol is still promoting this one. Dustin's going recurrent on MB next Sunday and Jake's song is just about finished, so that will get them to #16 next Sunday (as long as they can stay ahead of Cam and Tim). There's a chance but it's not guaranteed. We'll know more over the next few days.

We'll see what Capitol has in store for Keith Urban's "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" this week. If Capitol decides to put forth a huge final push for Keith this week, they may not be able to devote the same attention to this record that they have been the past few months and at this point I could see the bottom caving in on "Long Stretch of Love" this week. A similar situation happened during the two weeks last summer when there was a nail-biting #1 contest between "Drunk on a Plane" and "River Bank" and "Meanwhile Back at Mama's." Capitol had to devote a bit more attention to Dierks' record, and as a result during those weeks we saw Jon Pardi's "What I Can't Put Down" cave in. With Tim and Jason hot on this songs' heels and still no completely clear path to the Top 15 in sight I might lean towards a #16 or #17 peak for this record. Of course, it hardly makes any difference by this point. Everyone knows this was an under-performer and Lady Antebellum's going on a hiatus now, so it's not like a #15 peak instead of a #16 or #17 peak is really going to do anything more for this duo's diminished momentum.

I just hope Capitol realizes that this song is running out of time. I give Lady A 4 weeks max and that's highly doubtful probably more of a 3. If i was Capitol I would put the breaks on JJJ and let Save It For A Rainy Day have it's week at the top since Lose My Mind is not a threat. Focus this week all on Lady A they could get that Top 15 if they stay ahead of the competition in Tim Jason and Cam but they need Thomas Rhett to leave this time next week for Billboard. If both happen they can easily get that 15 spot and then let Lady A take that hiatus so they can comeback next year at this time stronger than ever.

It's never a good idea to put the brakes on a song (John x3) that is very deserving of going #1. Keith has already been at #1 for the last 3 weeks on the Billboard Indicator (secondary) chart so if anything it's past time for him to make his move on the main chart, and sure enough, Capitol has "max spins now" / "power up for #1" ads out today (in the Aircheck & AllAccess emails). I fully expect Keith to finish this week at #1, although it's possible that we'll see split charts next week, with Kenny perhaps at #1 on MB and Keith at #1 on BB. Lady A is going to have to settle for whatever peak they get. "Long Stretch Of Love" has not been a very big hit...Keith's song, on the other hand, has been quite the hit. I don't mind this song from Lady A but it never screamed "hit" to me and I'm not surprised it's stalled in the teens. I'm hoping that it'll go recurrent soon so that some of the songs in the 20's that are showing signs of becoming big hits will be able to move up a bit quicker.

While I agree that it wouldn't be smart and this never screamed hit to me either I just want this song to outpeak Freestyle since I think 9 out of 10 country fans agree Long Stretch Of Love >>>>>>> Freestyle. I will be happy with whatever peak this gets since it's grown on me tremendously also since Lady A might be nearing the end of making hits like Rascal Flatts I also thiink Billy Currington and Easton Corbin are probably not going to have many more hits as well both are well don't have strong sales and not huge fanbases Oh I didn't realize that it was peaking on the Indicator chart ok give Keith obvious big promotion but just make sure Lady A can hold off Tim Jake Cam and Jason. Crash & Burn goes recurrent they outpeak Freestyle that is my idea than just let the song die Long Stretch Of Love at least is still on the Indicator chart so I still have some hope.
