Shania is currently working on her 5th studio album. She has stated that she wants to at least have a single out while she is 50 years old (she turned 50 on August 28, 2015). This would be Shania's first studio album since 2002's Up!. She released a Greatest Hits album in 2004 and her last radio single was 2011's "Today Is Your Day").

She's only on her 5th studio album? Yeah. Quite impressive that she's sold 80 million albums with only 4 studio albums and a Greatest Hits collection, right? ;) But yeah, although she's been around forever, she's only on her 5th album because of troubles in her personal life which led to her not releasing a new studio album since 2002.

Even though this will be her final tour, I could easily see her doing another Vegas stint. It was so successful for both parties and she is a perfect Vegas act. In that, both men and women, you and old would be interested in seeing her.

In that, both men and women, you and old would be interested in seeing her. Could be a possibility. I believe I read that she is already doing an encore of her Vegas show for a month in September? Not sure if that's still the plan... Although I am a little confused as to why she's doing her last tour before she puts the new album out. You would think she would tour around the time when it's released to promote it...although she didn't tour for the The Woman In Me album and that was an extremely successful album and brought her to superstar status. So you never know with Sha-nay-nay lol.

Of COURSE she's coming to Chicago that week. Her, Kelly, and Lolla all within a 5 day span. Spare my coins. :'(

Great news on tour. I don't see Shania quitting the stage because she's good at it - more Vegas I'm sure. New music - Shania would be better served by putting out a Xmas album this fall and then finish the other album whenever. It's a shame that she'll go close to 15 years between albums. And, she's recorded what, maybe, nine songs in the interim (GH, tribute albums, etc.)? It's interesting how Shania's recorded songs are generic and that she's kept her 'personal' songs private. I believe if Shania shared those 'from the heart' songs, they would really resonate.

I doubt this being her last tour (traveling) means this will be her last set of live performances ever.

it's just stupid to release a new album after the tour ends. She should focus on the new album then go on that farewell tour playing the new music too.

Of course her tickets would go on sale the same time as Kelly's tour. Ughhhhh. I think I might be up in the cheap seats for this. Oh well, at least I was fairly close and got to touch her in Vegas!

According to AXS.com, who is promoting the tour, ticket prices will range from $36-$150. Shania Fan Club members will receive VIP package access as well as the already announced pre-sale opprotunity. To my knowledge her website is slow due to heavy fan traffic and redesign by her team.

I know she's been saying a new album is coming for years now, but she seems pretty serious this time. She started posting pics of her in the studio on social media toward the end of 2014, and even mentioned today on GMA that she's still recording. In an interview last week, she also said that she's looking for a producer for the album.

So far just North American dates. I would be shocked if there isn't a 2nd International leg. If not that would be a slap in the face to her fans in Europe, Asia, and Australia, and even South America who have supported her for 20 years.
One thing I don't get. If she is recording an album of all new music, why would she not want to do another tour around it to play some of the new stuff live? Maybe she will do at least a few appearances when the time comes, but not a full tour.
I went thru so many emotions in a few seconds when she made that announcement this morning. Pure joy when she said she was going back on tour, then like I was punched in the gut in the next breath when she said it would be her last.
The prices are pretty extreme in some aspects but not in others.. In Vegas I paid $50 for her upper balcony seats. In Charlotte its $80 for side/limited stage views in the far upper corner. $160 for up front...but it was $250 for up front in Vegas. I will go, no doubt there. Just disappointing that there won't be another full tour for when her studio album comes out. I know as soon as I buy a new album I can imagine how those songs will sound on that artist's tour. Now that option won't even be there.

I just hope that even if this is her final real tour, that she will still do new music after the 5th album is released.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM/TOUR: - The tour is called Rock This Country (obvious but I figured I would mention it). - Tickets go on sale to the public on March 13th and pres-sale opportunities begin March 10th - The tour will be the last with 48 dates throughout North America. - The tour will be completely different from the production of the Still The One Vegas residency (Different stage sets, costumes, etc...) - The set list will be changed around; songs she didn't perform during Vegas will be added. - The setlist will not contain any new songs - Shania is shooting to release the new album while she is still 50 (She turns 50 in August. So anywhere from August 2015-2016) - Shania revealed that she is working with multiple producers. She even told one radio station that one of the producers said the new material sounds "soulful." - We do not know who the producers are - Shania is expected to return to the studio in September. (As she stated in her From This Moment On autobiography, she does not like recording while on tour). - Shania also says that she has way too much material written to fit one single album. (That's the norm with her writing process for albums). - While Shania is going to discontinue touring she said she is not retiring and will continue to make music and albums, "until I drop." This album will not be her last album. - Shania is scheduled to make one more appearance (as of now) on US TV via the Bravo Network on What Happens Live! which will air March 11th.

i really dont believe we will ever see a full new Shania album. ive always liked Shania..her voice, songs, etc. But if I am honestly speaking... I really think that Mutt Lange was where most of the magic came from during her three blockbuster albums.

She will finish it after this tour ends at the end of summer. Yes Mutt was a great producer and took many acts to reach amazing levels. But you can say that about every artist. Everyone needs a little help along the way or a break. But Shania's true talent and charisma come through when she performs.

I really think that Mutt Lange was where most of the magic came from during her three blockbuster albums. While I definitely agree that Mutt helped her a LOT and they had amazing chemistry together, don't forget that Shania's debut album (without Mutt) didn't really have much input as far as songwriting/production goes from Shania herself, because her label didn't want her writing her own songs at that time. So this will really be Shania's first time putting out an album where she has written most (if not all) of the material herself AND without Mutt's writing/production. So it will be interesting to see where it goes, and I don't think we should jump to any conclusions or underestimate her ability to write good songs without him.

The best song on Shania's debut album was the only one on there that she wrote "God Ain't Gonna Getcha For That." Even that showed and early sign of her attitude in songwriting. I think her next album will be incredible!

I think her next album will be incredible! I also really loved the the album track "Leaving Is The Only Way Out" from The Woman In Me, which Shania wrote herself (without Mutt). It was pretty soulful, and I could see some of the ballads from her upcoming album sounding similar to that, which would be awesome.

Maybe awesome for you but not that commercial and not what the masses would want but i don't think she cares. Also we would be blind if we just picked the only song Shania wrote herself off an album as the only good song. There were many good songs off her first album. Just because it wasn't that successful doesn't mean they weren't better than 90 percent of the songs you hear today. It is about how it is promoted and the climate of country music and so many factors to how a song does

And it wasn't good at all imo.

The CD and DVD will be released as standalone copies on iTunes this week (March 10th). The DVD and a BluRay version will be released as standalone copies without the CD to Target and Best Buy on March 10th as well.

Is joining her fan club the only way to get pre sale tickets? And does anyone know if she does meet & greets?

Shania pretty much is going the way of Barbara Streisand. Stop touring and keep recording. I know that Barbara has never been shy about saying how she hates performing live, but I always thought Shania enjoyed it. I would to know more about her reasoning. I know once she does release a new album her fans are going to want to hear those songs live. Shania's hero Dolly has said that she will "drop dead" on stage if she has to cause she plans to play live so much longer. I wish Shania would follow Dolly's example and not Bab's.
