Wouldn't be shocked at all to see Luke Bryan get next week's #1 over Madonna. Crash My Party opened with a staggering 528k back in August 2013, and his previous Spring Break... effort, which came out barely half a year after CMP's release, opened at #2 with another 75k. With it now being a full year since he last released new music, I wouldn't be shocked to see him pull at least 100k off of this next EP.

This new Spring Break contains the songs on the previous, plus five new tracks, so I'm not sure if his release will top 100K.
In any event, would be great to see three 3/10 releases top 100K for their week.

Pretty sure no Kanye surprise release next week at least, but "Wolves" (the album opener featuring Sia and Vic Mensa) is scheduled for release. I thought I read somewhere Kanye's album would be like 8 tracks? If we keep getting songs one at a time we'll have he whole album soon lol.

A bit off topic, but can someone confirm if an album is streamed, is that a one sale?

Kelly Clarkson (RCA) 75-80k sales, 85-90k SPS Greatest Hits - Chapter One debuted at #11 with 75k (550k to date). Wrapped in Red debuted at #3 with 70k (850k to date). These two albums sold much more than I thought they did.

A bit off topic, but can someone confirm if an album is streamed, is that a one sale? Every 1500 individual track streams = 1 albumsale. A 12 song album would have to be streamed in full 125 times to produce one sale. Realistically, however, the "Streaming Equivalent Albums" comes as a result of streaming interest in the singles/standout tracks.

Realistically, however, the "Streaming Equivalent Albums" comes as a result of streaming interest in the singles/standout tracks. That's what makes this such an apples and oranges comparison. It's like the (more justifiable, IMHO) idea of adding all single sales of an album's songs towards album sales, which has generally not been done (I'm not sure if it's ever even been briefly tried, but maybe one of the resident historians could correct me). The Billboard 200 does that as well... 10 single sales (10 of the same or 10 different ones, it doesn't matter) = 1 album sale. BB200 "album equivalent unit" total (also known as "consumption unit total") = pure sales + (track sales/10) + (track streams/1500)

I know who announces what sales is loaded in different ways, but is Kelly really only expected to sell another 9,000 copies in that other 66% of retail outlets reporting?

That's why I don't read into the Hits building charts. I can't imagine Kelly would be at 66K without iTunes (if her total is going to be less than 100K), but Drake's album isn't even listed - and that's one of the best sellers on iTunes. Something's messed up with the way the data gets reported.

I mean I never really watch the building chart (nobody I work with really does, just the predictions and final numbers), and maybe that's why, just seemed odd to me.

I mean I never really watch the building chart (nobody I work with really does, just the predictions and final numbers), and maybe that's why, just seemed odd to me. Right. We have seen enough recent examples to know for sure that these updates are not based on individual retail reports and are more likely part of their programmed software.

Kelly had a HUGE start at 35%...all of those hardcore fans buying it instantly. C'mon baby, get to that #1! If she's at 70k with 70% she should easily pull 75k at least.

Madonna's iTunes preorders alone were 60,000 as of almost 2 months ago.

Madonna's iTunes preorders alone were 60,000 as of almost 2 months ago.
If Bryan sells what he did in 2013, it won't matter how many preorders Madonna has sold.

Bryan will be a huge challenge for her.

Billboard and Kelly are tight like that. After they declared WIR the Top Christmas Album over DD, I feel like they good
