Wow so maybe Uptown Funk has peaked :/. Where does it stand as of now- far as ranking for biggest overall radio hits? Not sure, but don't think it beat Blurred Lines or Happy.

I remember they got +5m update everyday to get 300 AI, It's sure to say it peaked, but it won't be fast decline though

So of the top 10 audience peaks, half of them have been in the last 24 months (Blurred Lines, Happy, All of Me, Uptown Funk, Stay With Me)

So LMYD did get lucky, up to #8 on pop And Heartbeat song may make the top 40 next week! Weird how Animals went up this week. I'm afraid that Chandelier won't make 52 weeks :(

That tells us that huge audiences need strong R&B and Rhythmic support. The period from 2008 through 2013 had less weight in these areas.
It makes sense, but is still important to recognize.

looks like LMLYD is the next #1, huge gains on airplay, soon #1 on iTunes, and so strong on spotify.. sad that Ed didn't make it.. I think Sugar is more likely to do it. I was sure Maroon 5 wouldn't be getting any more #1's after OMN but it looks quite possible that I'll be wrong. It is pretty far ahead of LMLYD on radio while getting bigger gains as well and it is ahead of LMLYD on iTunes as well (when both versions are combined). I'm quite surprised at how Sugar is looking to be the biggest hit from V. It's also looking to challenge the Starships record that SIO should've beaten! In all honesty though I doubt either Sugar or LMLYD will make #1 lol. It just seems too good to be true and UF is still showing no signs of slowing down (it is STILL #1 on iTunes as we speak). It could possibly even pass Blurred Lines's weeks at #1, very impressive! If I were to guess though, I would say Sugar is most likely to be the one to dethrone UF, even though I don't actually see it happening in practice because it just seems too good to be true for it.

Hopefully Sugar just dies, too. Maps was amazing, Animals was okay but after how much I heard it listening to Earworm's mix I'm sick of it. Idk why but I just cannot stand Sugar.

Interesting, I think that Sugar is Maroon 5's best song since Moves Like Jagger. Which to be fair isn't saying much, because I still can't stand Sugar

No way Sugar sneaks in there. It'd be cool tho cause I think it's a great song I wouldn't say there's zero chance...it's currently #2 in sales and gaining on Uptown Funk as well as it is increasing like crazy now on airplay while strong in streaming (I think) so I could see it being #1 if the timing is right. I love Uptown Funk! but I know it must be dethroned at some point and as far as I'm concerned with that I would like either Sugar or Love Me Like You Do to be the one to do the honors. I would've liked Style to make #1 too but clearly that's not going to happen mostly because the video was a flop :/

I still have my money on LMLYD being the next #1. But we'll have to see. The next few weeks on the Hot 100 are gonna be interesting.

Yeah I hope the strong airplay can at least get Style in the top five of the Hot 100! Although even in airplay it's slowing down and seemingly falling in sales too now, already out of the top ten :( Really unfortunate that the video was such a let-down...the release of the video for BS instantly got it to #1 on iTunes and same with SIO...guess Style didn't have the same fate

My guess:
TOL still has a chance if it falls slowly and UF plummets (not likely, but still a possibility)
Sugar has a chance. I thought it had peaked, but it's starting to gain. With the appropriate timing, it could be #1.
LMLYD also has a chance if it can rebound in sales and get strong gains on radio.
Or there's always the likelihood of a completely different song we're not even discussing.

I could see her second single being more mainstream and blowing up the charts though.

I think the reason why Style underperformed is not only because the video bombed. The fact that Taylor isn't making any meaningful promotion for it also play a part, and the fact that it's included in one of the biggest album of 2010's who already sold around 4,5 Million didn't really help her cause, cuz' Taylor is no Adele.

Can we just face the fact that Style isn't as catchy and overall not as good of a song as Shake it Off or Blank Space and that is why it isn't performing as well?

Style is the first good song from this era. It's just not a piece of tooth rotting candy for kids like shake it off was.
TOL isn't going to #1. Frankly it's a fluke its at #2 this long -- it's mainly that UF just has no strong competition.
