I don't mind this song at all, but it is just nothing new or groundbreaking. A very safe electronic\indie song. I think the lyrics are groundbreaking, not the sound of the song (Shut Up And Dance and Riptide definitely weren't groundbreaking in the way they sounded either) - I still think this is definitely going Top 5, probably close to, if not #1

This won't even go top 10 on Alternative, not a troll. This has absolutely no chance to go to #1, I honestly don't get why people are giving all the love. I feel like I have heard at least four or five songs like this already in the past: - Shots, Imagine Dragons - Move Along, All American Reject - Waves, Magic Man (it almost ripped this song completely off) - One More Minute, Capital Cities Unbelievably generic I'll give you the last two as good comparisons, but unless ur talking about that Broiler remix of the Imagine Dragons song(which is good); then no, just No. I don't even know how All- American Rejects made their way onto the conversation, but that's a good song too, so in the end all you've really done is compare the new Atlas Genius song to 4 good songs and probobly gave it 4 new fans.

I like this song. I don't think it's really anything to write home about, but it's pretty good. I don't see it performing as well as a lot of people have been guessing on here. I'm guessing #9 on Alt and not charting on Pop.

Wow, this is probably the most I've liked a song by these guys. At first listen, this is quite decent, which is probably the best compliment I can give these guys right now. This just makes me wish that "Trojans" had never been released as a single.

This is off to a pretty rough start. +53 spins, been out for two weeks. This may not even break Top 30.

I keep mishearing a line in the chorus that admittedly makes me chuckle. "There's innocence in the moment" sounds to me like "There's even sex, in the morning" Just the context of that misheard line with the rest of the song makes it kinda comical

I think I was just frustrated by the posters who just "don't get it", saying it was "song of summer", "#1 bound", "guarantee top 5". Nothing about its first two weeks are showing that this is going to be anything remotely close to that. As a matter of fact, in markets that added it two weeks ago, they are playing it less now. It sounds too similar to everything else for anyone to take note or want to hear again. Sorry, 55 stations and +62 bullet, mostly overnight spins...this is having a bad start whether you like it or not.

Here's a strange concept, but if a song frustrated you so much then it's probably best to just stay away? There's a reason you'll never see me in Nickelback or Kelly Clarkson threads! You must not be familiar with the Alternative chart. Songs don't blow up overnight here unless they're lead single from Foo Fighters or Mumford & Sons these days. It's a very slow building format so the first two weeks of a song's release, good or bad, isn't going to reveal jack shit in terms of the long run. Look how long Andrew McMahon took to go Top 5. Sorry, but 55 stations and a +62 bullet is just fine.

I am more familiar with the alternative chart than you are, trust me. I get that it is a slow builder, however, AG just came off two very, very long charting Top 10's (maybe Top 5). Stations and listeners are familiar with Atlas Genius, and the numbers should be much, much bigger for a group with that resume on a new single.
Andrew McMahon\Jack's Mannequin\Something Corp. I'm pretty sure have combined for maybe one top 15 hit and that was about 7 years ago, so I wouldn't compare the two.
I will say, I just heard Molecules on the radio and it sounded decent, but no way this thing cracks top 10.

It went for adds yesterday, man, and it got 16 adds (more than any other track out there) - and this is a band that is almost obscure to much of the public (even Alt listeners that are familiar with Trojans prob don't remember which band recorded it) - this thread was started a week before it was even released to ITunes
Really don't understand what the problem is with it sounding similar to certain other songs - "Dead Inside" sounds like a whole bunch of Duran Duran songs, "Cecelia And The Satellite" sounds like Collide by Howie Day and I Miss You by Blink 182, "Ex's And Oh's" sounds like I Kissed A Girl, "The Wolf" sounds like Angels Of The Silences by Counting Crows, "Crystals" sounds like every other song by OM&M - you could go on and on for almost every song on the chart

Maybe it's my love of disco talking, but I got a big disco vibe from the beat, especially in the chorus. It almost feels like an 80's new wave song, only if it was performed by a band stuck in the mid-to-late 70's and the height of disco.
Needless to say, I enjoyed it and hope for it to be a big success for Atlas Genius.

The only thing I don't love about this song is that the first and second verses are exactly the same, except for two words

So they decided to play this on the MLB Network over a montage of last night's highlights. Future hit predictor?

No dude. This is struggling. Maybe because it is the most unoriginal song on the chart this year.
