I'm excited for this. Even with the mountain of shadiness, douchebaggery and major asshole-attitude that surrounds him, I'd be absolutely lying if I said I wasn't a big fan of most of Diplo's work.

I believe Ariana Grande, Ellie Goulding, and Pusha T have been confirmed to be part of the project.

PS. I'm confused right now. The description of the Soundcloud link says: '"Night Riders". The new single off Major Lazer's forthcoming album Peace Is the Mission out June 1.', but Diplo mentioned on his iHeartRadio interview that "Powerful" will be the next one. I assume they made a mistake with the former because I doubt they are going to make a dual release to be honest, unless they changed the initial plans.

Diplo Teases New Major Lazer Single With The Weeknd Due Out Around Coachella Next Year

Wednesday night, Diplo stopped into Boston to play an AMP Live for us at 103.3 AMP Radio, and took some time to chat with Vanessa Hale backstage.

Following up on his smash song of the summer, Lean On, Diplo talked about his latest single, Powerful which features Ellie Goulding.

“She’s beautiful on that record. Kind of like classic, where she first came from, kind of like her underground roots,” said Diplo. “I think right now, that’s the goal for a lot of pop artists, to do a little away from the mainstream.

Diplo explained how it worked for Justin Bieber on What Do You Mean? and even on his latest single, Sorry.

“All those records aren’t typical pop production,” Diplo said. “I think a lot of people are gravitating towards that, and those records are getting the love.”

Producing these hits doesn’t leave Diplo with a lot of down time.

He tells Vanessa that most of his work is done on planes and trains as he travels from venue to venue around the globe, and he’s always looking towards his next project.

“We’ve got a little more gas in Major Lazer, we’ve got another single coming out. We’re reissuing that album, so there’s 5 new tracks,” said Diplo. “Then we have a new album we’re going to put out next year around August or September and a single around Coachella with The Weeknd, so that’s going to be dope.”
