May seems like a decent amount of time to wait. Curious to see if this moves a little quicker at radio this time around. Not much else to say until we get the audio.

They've had new music ready for a little while actually. The thing is that his first full length album era took forever and a day. Seriously, "Don't Ya" was released in October of 2012 and "Mean To Me" will officially go recurrent on MB, on Easter Day (April 5th) of 2015, lol. Warner/Atlantic is anxious to get new music out there and leave just a couple weeks between "Mean To Me" and the lead. It's a shame "Signs" or "One Mississippi" won't see a release, but I kinda knew that was going to happen when "Mean To Me" was announced last summer.

Glad to see that there is news of a lead single. I am actually surprised (sort of, but also thankful) that the first single from the new album will be released in May. "Mean To Me" just hit the top last week. However, I agree with sabre14 that the label is anxious to get new music out there. I'm excited to hear the progression of his new music. I mean, most of what was on his debut album in 2013 was played live when I saw him in the summer of 2012. Also glad that they went with a cowrite (yes, Brett writes nearly all of his songs) but he had said that he wished "Bring You Back" was a single because he didn't write it. That song, being the only one he didn't write. I was worried because "Bring You Back" was my least favorite from the album( not bad in any way, but the others are much better, IMO). If he wished to have a non-cowrite as a single, I worried the label would let him have it this time around. So ready for new music from Brett

Excited to hear this. Eldredge is one of the better vocalists right now, and I thought is debut album was strong.
PS: Woo, go The shotgun seat! ;)

It's official. The release date is indeed April 21st according to Country Aircheck.

This one will be an uptempo (I think most assumed that much). The hook line is, "Mess me up and drive me wild. I love the way you make me lose my mind".

I love the way you make me lose my mind".You can make out most of the lyrics from the add in Country Aircheck last night. They seem pretty generic, but I'll wait to see how he sings it before I judge yet.

Hopefully the studio version will compensate for lack of original lyrics, which is definitely possible. Luckily Brett's got one of those voices that can make many look past generic lyrics. I think Warner/Atlantic wanted something catchy and safe.

Music Row has the add date for April 20th, but that's a mistake. The release date is April 21st, but I'm sure the add date will be the 4th or possibly the 11th. The Shotgun Seat has reported the 4th, so I would go with that right now. Unless of course there's an hourly debut which I highly doubt.

Well the "click here" link in the Billboard and Country Aircheck ad didn't work for me (not sure if that's just me or for everyone), but I can tell you that the music video was already shot for this and I expect it to debut this week, possibly tomorrow. The song is available on Play Mpe tomorrow morning and is at iTunes at midnight. :)

The link didn't work for me either. I haven't heard this yet but I suspect Brett Eldredge might get a bi-hourly Clear Channel world premiere deal with this one tomorrow just as Thomas Rhett did two weeks ago with "Crash and Burn," so this could end up debuting in the top 40 on next Monday's Billboard airplay chart.

Can't say I care much for this, the production is, for me, strange and the lyric "You show me that apple girl and I want to bite it" makes me seriously cringe. I like Brett so I personally hope this new album has less songs like this....

Listened to the iTunes clip and didn't like this at all. The production was all over the map and downright atrocious at times. I love Brett's voice, but man I wish he was still working with Byron Gallimore.

I like that the production sounds pretty country, and Brett sounds pretty good on it as well. Definitely not the best song ever, but I see it continuing Brett's streak of hits. This won't be the type of song that turns him into an A-lister, but I think it'll do fine. Personally I would have liked to see a more ambitious first single, as this one just seems to be playing it safe (as have all of Brett's last 3 singles).

LOVE this. Fresh, creative lyrics with a blend of country, classic R&B and pop sounds. People want songs that aren't copycat yet when they get one (in every way), they want something that was very "me too." This is a vocal showcase for Brett and like many new songs, it could crossover.
Edit what Brett says about the song:
“The day we wrote ‘Lose My Mind’ I had this groove in my head that kept me awake the night before,” said Eldredge. “This groove was driving me nuts. And a relationship can be like that too when a person completely takes control of your thoughts and you can’t do anything but think about them. It drives you completely crazy and makes you lose your mind. That’s what this song’s about. When you literally feel like you’re going crazy, but it’s because you’re so crazy about them and shows you how much you love them and you can’t get enough.”

Yeah, this is really disappointing. I actually don't mind the melody, and Brett sounds pretty good, but overall the song just isn't that good. I love Brett's voice and I really, really want to root for him, but I haven't really cared for any of his big hits. "Mean To Me" was decent but not a huge favorite. "Beat Of The Music" wasn't too bad either but it burned on me fast. And "Don't Ya"...well, that one was a station-changer from the start.
My favorite single from him is actually "It Ain't Gotta Be Love", with "Raymond" right up there as well. But after IAGBL stalled and the label made him completely scrap the album...he just hasn't been the same. Aside from "Raymond", the only 2 songs from his original debut album that made it onto Bring You Back were "Signs" and "One Mississippi", and those 2 songs (plus "Raymond") are the only songs that I love on the Bring You Back album. The new batch of songs just felt so...non-Brett to me. They were way different than the original album he'd crafted, and not in a good way, in my opinion. Bring You Back isn't a horrible album by any means, but none of the songs (again, except "Signs, "One Mississippi", and "Raymond") really stood out and grabbed me. Everything else was just kind of 'there' for me. And this song feels like more of the same...it just doesn't do anything for me.

jhomes87, I totally see where you're coming from but I'd argue that the music you're getting now is completely more "Brett" than anything on the "One Way Ticket" album. Having seen him sing many styles live, this song feels more him than most of that album. I even hear a little Crooner/R&B pop guy in this track. So I'm not surprised. That being said, I totally get where you're coming from.

The production's a bit messy but I like the melody a lot. I also have no problems with the lyrics. IMO it's no more "out there" with the "crazy" theme than, say, "5-1-5-0" is.

I agree with every word, although I think I liked Beat Of The Music a bit more than you did. I remember first listening to One Way Ticket thinking that Brett might be a future A-lister. That album had everything, but since then he just seems to be trend chasing and hoping his voice sets him apart instead of the material. It's a risk-averse approach that should get him a few paychecks and some hits, but at this point I just don't see him breaking out in a big way.

I think he's leading 'trends' with the production of this one.

I enjoy the production and melody on this one. Brett has one of the strongest voices at the moment within the country genre. I've always thought that he sounded more soulful and "jazzy." Personally, I feel like in order to prosper in the country radio environment today, he had to release an upbeat song such as this in order to reach #1 possibly. In order to release the meaningful songs such as "Raymond," artists must release a song that is going to get radio play beforehand. That's how I feel in regards to releasing this as a single first. The lyrics aren't amazing but the voice, production, and melody are infectious.

When the song starts it's pretty promising but then I hear the production on the chorus and that's where it goes over a cliff. I don't like the production on this at all - like really bad. I echo kw9461 and Ten Pound Hammer, that the production is all over the map and it's just messy. It's unfortunate cause I like the melody and Brett's voice but I just can't with that production. Brett makes this song better than it should be so I'll leave room for it to grow on me but after hearing this, his best single by far is still "Raymond".

This is Fresh, Modern and will keep Brett Relevant. Much like Crash and Burn, this is a great new sound and I'll predict right now this will be his biggest hit ever.

The production was purposely "messy" for the fit with the "Lose my mind" narrative of the lyrics. It's clearly not as "messy" or "cluttered" as other recent hits so there is that.
