The "Here I sit cursing my government for not using my taxes to fill holes with more cement" line makes me cringe, especially when they repeat it twice. Could be worse...he coulda said "I like the way you smack my ass" 5 times.

I had to do a double take just before when I saw how high this rose in just it's first week. As I said before, I don't think the song is anything special, but I can completely see them breaking out now and fast.

Are these guys even that big? I thought their biggest hit only hit #10.

Are these guys even that big? I thought their biggest hit only hit #10. Lol, that's true. I'm also really surprised that this song had as huge an impact as it did. Although, we'll see tomorrow how the 8th day effect affects this.

Are these guys even that big? I thought their biggest hit only hit #10. Yup. Both "Holding On To You" and "House of Gold" both peaked at #10, which is why I'm shocked by the increase in the first week. Usually, you only see that from veteran bands who have had major hits before.

The album is available to pre-order on iTunes now and is at #3. :o This could get a Top 10 debut on the Billboard 200 when it releases. :o :o :o :o

Considering All Time Low is predicted to debut at #2, I think their album will go #1 in its release week.
I also just noticed how similar this band's situation is to WALK THE MOON's... Alternative band that had two moderate alternative hits off their first successful era ("Holding On To You" and "House Of Gold"/"Anna Sun" and "Tightrope") which they tried to cross over with ("Holding On To You"/"Anna Sun"), then they release a catchy, poppy song that gets more Alt support than any single from their last album (considering in its first week its already top 20, I think that's guaranteed.) and starts selling well base just off of buzz and minimal airplay. So... I think this will be huge on Pop in the fall/winter.

The "Here I sit cursing my government for not using my taxes to fill holes with more cement" line makes me cringe, especially when they repeat it twice. They're from Ohio. I feel his pain.

It's really crowded in the Alt top 20. The song only climbs 2 spots after debuting at #20. It didn't sound to great to me after the 5 or 6 th listen. I'll probobly burn out on this song real soon.

I was definitely *not* a fan of Twenty One Pilots in the last era, but the "first 21P song I listened to all the way through" comments rang true for me. I think I might have stomached the entirety of "House of Gold" once or twice, but regardless, this is the first one that didn't get on my nerves from the outset. I'd even dare say that I liked it, despite some of the aforementioned cheesy lines.

Man this is such an earworm, def the closest I've come to liking a Twenty One Pilots song as a whole if it weren't for that terrible middle-eight killing the vibe entirely. If someone made an edit taking that entire section out I'd probably download it.

I really want to like this as a whole, but I can't. I can't get past the questionable, cheesy lyrics that are going on. The "my taste in music is your face" and the government part are cringeworthy. I have more of a problem with the former than the latter though.
This is easily the most mainstream song they've done though. I would love for this to do well just for the sake of them having a hit and getting them even more recognition. With the way things are looking, they could turn into a Fall Out Boy type band (big lead singles, minor hits with later singles), or at the very least like Panic! At The Disco (decent lead singles, minor hit or a flop for later singles).

Some one on youtube called this schizophrenic pop. I guess, The music is allright. I like the piano, but this guy's vocals take it over the top and not in a very good way. It sounds like a FUN song on Steroids. Anyway, up till now, I'm still not a fan.

That song really frightened me. This guy must have a lifesized poster of Eminim in his bedroom.

I really like the production and drumming on "Lane Boy", but Tyler's vocals, and just the overall melody, are pretty meh.

It's funny how "Stressed Out" is owning this on iTunes right now. #77 vs. #150 and it's not like "Stressed Out" is being propelled by instant grats anymore.

"Stressed Out" is my favorite of the four so far.
