The performance was amazing, can't stop watching it! There was so much more they could've done with it, though. The helicopter thing was cute, but I wish they had done more.
I liked the choreography. For Rihanna's standards, it was not bad and that guitar solo at the end really enhanced the whole thing imo.
The performance served its purpose and sent the song back to #1 on iTunes. Now we need a video to help it secure the top spot...and a Spotify upload would be nice, too~

After watching the Iheart Awards, this is the only song that was in my head when I woke up this morning. Loved the performance. Triggered an iTunes buy from me.

I don't know if it's because it's brand new but I think this is Rih's best song EVER. It's the only song I've been listening to since it was released. Cannot remember the last time I was this obsessed with a song of hers.

I'm sorry but I need to get this out there:
It's kinda funny how Urban Pop artists are becoming more ratchet/non-Pop. First Beyonce, now Rihanna seems to be following in that trend. Neither are "Pop" anymore, or at least Rihanna hasn't released anything new to lead us to believe she'll be following in Pop music footsteps. I blame Jay Z and Kanye, who seem to be trying to turn the tide of Urban music. I don't know but I just don't like it, as if they're trying to suddenly push Urban culture onto people and make it mainstream. It definitely seems to be a new trend.

I Loved her performance at IHeart. Her stage presence is great. Even though she's not the best dancer she looks great doing the movements she does. It felt like there was a "Star" on stage while she was performing. The song it self is getting better with each listen, though I never disliked it.

not a fan of this song, but her iheart performance was GREAT! Same experience with fourfiveseconds...didn't like the recording at first (although have grown to like it better) but loved her grammy performance....

I'm sorry but I need to get this out there: It's kinda funny how Urban Pop artists are becoming more ratchet/non-Pop. Yeah, heaven forbid something other than pop become popular. Not to go in on you, I just disagree with the idea that urban culture becoming mainstream is a terrible thing. I could go all the way back to Elvis in pointing out how urban culture has been appropriated and absorbed to varying degrees over the years, and other than that 2005-2007 phase when 'snap music' was taking over I would say that music has always been the better for it (and I'd say the same for any other genre that has influenced pop at a given time). Urban culture is so much more than what you see currently being played on urban radio, so what you really have a problem with is this specific sound, not with the culture as a whole. I won't belabor that point though because it's a tangent, and because I don't even think "making urban mainstream" is what these two are trying to do. With Beyonce for example, she already had been absent for a while from pop radio; 4 only had urban hits because her previously pop-friendly r&b sound was suddenly out of trend with the EDM-lite that had taken over. She then released a surprise album with no singles; the label was initially going to send "Blow" to CHR but then went with "XO." Either way, they chose the songs that they thought would work for a pop audience. At no point did Bey ever try to make "Partition" or "7/11" happen, and IIRC I don't even think she ever officially sent Drunk in Love for adds. Pop just picked that up on its own. With Ri, I think she is just out of fucks to give, not that she had many before. I can't even tell if BBHMM is an official pop single, aside from the radio deal it had on day 1. But I don't think her label has suddenly lost all of its marbles so I'm sure they are aware this song is as far away from pop-friendly as possible. They simply don't care because they know she can get away with it now. If anything I think Bey and Ri are doing the opposite of what you are saying - they aren't trying to make urban mainstream, so much as they are giving mainstream the middle finger. They believe they've earned enough devoted fans that they don't have to cater to the mainstream anymore just to maintain relevancy or sales. In Bey's case that proved to be more than right - 4 sold 1.3 million with no pop hits, and the self-titled sold over 2 million with only Drunk In Love, critical acclaim, and sheer star power carrying it. Rihanna has been in the top 10 for two months now with a song that frankly didn't fit in at CHR or urban, so if she can pull that off I think BBHMM and #R8 as a whole will be fine. Both of them, because of their star power, can secure a spot on any award show they want to be on and then let word of mouth and buzz take care of the rest. If you want to consider that becoming mainstream, it only is in the sense that enough people with mainstream tastes heard it and decided they like it. They could easily reject it and avoid it if they don't want to use.

If this is actually a pop hit then she has officially reached the point where she can put out anything and CHR will play it. Because this song would never ever be touched by CHR coming from most.
