Hi it's me again with another discussion question!
What are some of the longest album eras in music history?
The obvious one for me is Teenage Dream which went from spring 2010 (California Gurls) through summer of 2012 (Wide Awake), including the reissue obviously.

You Want This was on the charts well in 1995 as well.
What do we consider to be part of album eras? The tour inclusive? Because Jagged Little Pill seemed quite long as well. Starting in early 1995 and ending in mid 1997.
Shania Twain's Come On Over. 1997 into 2000.

The first example to come to mind was GN'R's "Use Your Illusion" era.
The tour lasted 3 years, and between the two records there were 13 singles released.

All of Michael Jackson's albums had long eras besides Invincible. I know HIStory came out in June 1995 and he was still touring it through '97. Dangerous album era was also really long:
November 1991 - December 1993
Black or White was released first and then Gone Too Soon (the 9th single) was released in December '93. If the allegations didn't come out the album probably would have still continued to be promoted through '94 since a lot of his tour was cancelled because of it.

Garth Brooks relleased four singlles from No Fences, allll #1s: Friends In llow Pllaces, Unanswered Prayers, Two Of A Kind, Workin' On A Fullll House, and The Thunder Rolllls. Allll between 1990-1991. Then Willd Horses peaked at #7 in 2001. Come on now, that's a unique situation. Yes it's technically right, but a ten year gap is disqualified.

The Fame/The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga if we can count it as one era. "Just Dance" came out April 8, 2008 and the final single was "Alejandro" which was on the chart until July or August of 2010. And The Monster Ball ran through Spring of 2011, I believe.

You know why Wild Horses was released in late 2000? Because Shania Twain's Come On Over CD was about to surpass No Fences in sales.

ExposΓ© "ExposΓ©" I Wish The Phone Would Ring (Hot 100 debut October 31, 1992) I'll Never Get Over You (Getting Over Me) (Hot 100 debut March 27, 1993) As Long As I Can Dream (Hot 100 debut October 16, 1993) In Walked Love (Hot 100 debut April 9, 1994) This was a rare case in which an album almost lasted two years without having a really massive hit. The second single did have some legs, though, reaching number 8 and staying over 30 weeks on the Hot 100, but it seems Arista did not want to give up on them easily so they kept pushing singles with lackluster results.

A few more just came to me after seeing that Expose example:
Sophie B. Hawkins - Whaler
released: October 1994 Right Beside You was released in August of 1994. As I Lay Me Down was released in February and became a hit throughout 1995 with a lot of longevity. Finally Only Love was its followup in early 1996 where it was a minor hit in the Spring. So, the era as far as singles go lasted just over a year and a half but across three calendar years.
Same thing kind of happened with Seal and his Seal II album. It was released in May 1994. Prayer For The Dying was released in April and became a hit that summer. Kiss From A Rose was released in July but of course didn't do anything until it was a Batman Forever re-release the next year, becoming a #1 hit. Then Don't Cry was released November 1995 and became a hit in early 1996. So his era did last just over 2 years because Don't Cry was a decent-sized hit.
