Probably just an instant grat for now since "Believe" is not done yet.

I was thinking whether this would be an instant grat on iTunes too. We'll see.

Why release this so early and potentially kill off a massive #1 streak by "Believe", I wonder?
Might take radio a while to pick up on it but still seems like an odd move.

I understand the point of releasing a few tracks before the album to build hype, but I always thought the second radio track best fit right before the album, not a month early. I guess they got their #1, but outside of maybe Muse I can't see anything catching Believe for a while, unless Mumford's spins start to splinter between a few different tracks.

So which means AWOLNATION and Death Cab for Cutie have a chance at #1?

I wonder if the wolf from this song is the same one from Awolnation's song.
Kinda like how according to Abe Simpson, Jack from Jack & Jill, Jack from Jack & The Beanstalk, and Jack Sprat are all the same guy.

I generally don't join in on much of the negativity and unwell-wishing in this forum, but I'd be cool if this cannibalizes "Believe" airplay enough that Alabama Shakes can grab #1 on AAA for a moment or two.

Straight from the only man who cares about the AAA charts. Kurt, the radio stations will fulfill your wish.

I can't help but wonder if this will be a folk-sounding song, although I hope not. Really liked the direction "Believe" went in, hopefully this is similar. Regardless, if this ends up being more well received than "Believe", I could potentially see that pulling a "The Catalyst".

Ooooooh really like this. "Believe" is good, but it lacks something. It takes a little too long to get going. This one is more instant. Guessing a second #1 on Alt and AAA with ease.

Damn. Easily the second best song they've released in their careers. Blows everything aside from Little Lion Man out of the fuckin' water.

This is pretty good, but they sound like they're trying to mimic Kings of Leon. Doesn't really sound all that original too me.

Wow, I might enjoy a Mumford & Sons song for the first time ever. Liked it on my first listen, and I'm curious to see how quickly this is going to move up the radio charts, as well as how fast Believe is going to tumble. Maybe AWOLNATION has a chance at a week or two at #1 before Muse gets there.

Meh. It's OK to me.
Their new direction is just OK for me. Their original sound was so original and I loved that about them. Now, they kinda sound like other bands. I don't know how I feel about it yet.

I don't like it that much. I like Believe better, but this is good too.

This is so much better than Believe. I foresee an effortless Alt smash and some limited pop crossover.

I prefer "Believe", but this is good too. At the very least, it's miles better than "Lover Of The Light" and better than "Little Lion Man Part 2" "The Cave".

I actually like the Kings Of Leon/Foo Fighters style they incorporate in "Wolf". Like others have said; this might be the first Mumford & Sons song I enjoy.

Are there any fans on here who have liked them from the very beginning and like their new musical direction? I'm curious. I have loved them from the beginning and am not thrilled about their new music.

I have loved them from the beginning and am not thrilled about their new music. Me I guess. I haven't listened too deeply into their discography, but I do like most of the singles they have released. I've listened to Babel and liked it for the most part. Not an avid fan, but I like the new direction, as well as their old ways.
