Welcome! With the help of last.fm, I've been compiling my personal weekly chart, the Paulboard Top 30, since October 25th, 2009. I decided to post my 2014 Year-End Countdown here on the Pulse for the very first time, which was a really fun experience, so now I'll be posting my weekly charts here as well.
The rules of my chart are pretty simple: any song is allowed to chart, songs are never made "recurrent", and remixes always count separately. For certifications: Gold = 25+ total plays, Platinum = 50+ plays, 2x Platinum = 100+ plays, and so on. Since my chart is based on actual play counts, it can be pretty random from week-to-week, but I like how each chart is like a snapshot of that week in my life.
Many thanks to anyone who takes the time to check this out. Any and all comments are greatly appreciated! :)

Paul! I'm glad to see that you've started posting this here!
I love your top 2 and the rise of "Shut Up and Dance", "Bitch Better Have My Money", and "Sugar". I also like a lot of the older songs that are charting.

Great chart! I love almost all of the ones I'm familiar with (unfortunately that is less than half but that's ok ) Hoping to see Shut Up And Dance possibly hit #1:)

Huge "THANK YOU!" for stopping by and leaving some comments! Paul! I'm glad to see that you've started posting this here! I love your top 2 and the rise of "Shut Up and Dance", "Bitch Better Have My Money", and "Sugar". I also like a lot of the older songs that are charting. Thanks! What can I say - you inspire me. "Sugar" is an interesting situation. I wouldn't consider it one of M5's all-time best, but I haven't gotten sick of it yet either. It's catchy/likable enough, and doesn't burn quickly...at all. It's also been on my mind a lot lately due to its "battle" against UF on the Hot 100, which appears to be a lost cause at this point. :'( Since you mentioned that you and your mom are fans of 80's pop, I thought you'd appreciate the Debbie Gibson and Lisa Lisa entries ;) I knew OF Debbie, but I wasn't familiar with any of her hits, so I decided to add a handful to my library. She had quite a few cute uptempo bops! Great chart! I love almost all of the ones I'm familiar with (unfortunately that is less than half but that's ok ) Hoping to see Shut Up And Dance possibly hit #1:) Ha, no worries, I do chart quite a few random album tracks and "oldies" (well, stuff from the 80's, 90's, and 00's, anyway.) SUAD's chances of hitting No. 1 aren't great, since songs on my chart generally debut on top or reach the top in their 2nd or 3rd week - BUT if SUAD keeps doing well on the Hot 100, that's going to keep it fresh in my mind (especially if it becomes a real Hot 100 No. 1 contender), so I wouldn't completely write it off yet either. "Blank Space", for example, didn't reach No. 1 until its 6th week (and later rebounded to No. 1 in its 13th week.)

Paulboard Top 30 | Issue Date: 04.12.15• Charlie Puth debuts at No. 1 with his first-ever Paulboard entry: “Marvin Gaye”, thus knocking Ryn Weaver’s “OctaHate” (the only multi-week No.1 of 2015 so far) from the top spot. I was inspired to check out “Marvin Gaye” due to the recent domination of “See You Again” (another Top 10 debut this week), on which Charlie is featured. Unlike Billboard, I don’t count featured appearances in an act’s hit tally, so Meghan’s No. 1 count remains at two (“Dear Future Husband” and “Title.”) • Speaking of hit tallies, Carly Rae Jepsen’s latest release, “All That”, debuts at No. 3, missing a chance to add to her very impressive list of eleven No. 1 hits. • If my avatar wasn’t indication enough, my No. 6 this week reveals my feelings about “Uptown Funk” potentially breaking a certain Hot 100 record. ;) • Rihanna’s “We Found Love” pulls out of its tie with Taylor Swift’s “Ours” to become the longest-lasting Paulboard hit of all-time. Since songs are allowed to re-enter indefinitely, this record might change hands yet again. • Hilary Duff’s “Sparks” debuts at No. 14, much lower than “buzz” singles “Chasing The Sun” (No. 1) and “All About You” (No. 2.) “Sparks” is reasonably catchy, but I preferred the hooks and straightforward pop sound of those tunes.

Nice chart, but I'm thinking you might wanna put some recurrent rule in place ;) I do like a lot of the debuts and re-entries though! Sad about Shut Up And Dance :(

¡MUCHAS GRACIAS! for all the comments. :) Nice chart, but I'm thinking you might wanna put some recurrent rule in place ;) I do like a lot of the debuts and re-entries though! Sad about Shut Up And Dance :( Ha...well...I don't think that'll happen anytime soon, but I do appreciate the suggestion. Apart from not really wanting to keep track of two separate charts each week, I like that this chart captures what I was most into each week, even if it wasn't current material. I can understand that makes my chart a bit less fun to follow, since you can't watch songs grow in a more typical rise-peak-fall pattern...but for anyone who likes unpredictability, this is the chart for them! I can guarantee that you'll be seeing SUAD again, though. ;) Love the mix of old and new on your chart; YASSS @ WFL's slayage!! Bad Bloodsus for #1 pls and that Mariah re-entry in the Top10! :O Aw, many thanks for appreciating the randomness of it all! WFL = <3 <3 <3 <3. Tied with "Style" for most weeks at No. 1 (6). It alone holds the record for most weeks on the chart (34). It was No. 2 on my 2011 Year-End Countdown, and No. 3 on my 2012 YEC (making it the only song to ever to place inside the Top 5 on more than one YEC.) USPOP 2009 :O So SO GOOD! Easily his best ever (though I haven't downloaded any of them since 2011.) I was playing through my former No. 1's as I was typing up the list for this thread, and I hadn't listened to that one in a while, but it's still so impressive and so enjoyable. Memories ~

Paulboard Top 30 | Issue Date: 04.19.15• Ryn Weaver’s “OctaHate” rebounds to No. 1, marking its third week on top. As a result, “OctaHate” becomes only the 12th chart-topper in Paulboard history to spend three or more weeks in the pole position. • After seeing “Desire” on Zebra’s chart, and learning that the lead singer of Years & Years identifies as gay, I was inspired to check out their entire Y & Y EP; consequently, all four EP tracks appear on this week’s chart. • Speaking of Zebra, several of his former No. 1 hits debut or re-enter this week, including “Nobody Love”, “Shut Up And Dance”, “Girl Crush”, and “I Really Like You.” #suchimpact • Following the announcement of the official tracklist for her upcoming #1 To Infinity compilation, Mariah Carey occupies nearly half of this week’s chart with a selection of her Hot 100 No. 1 smashes.

Much love to everyone for checking out my chart! Octahate #1 again and Bright entering, great chart! Re: "Bright", I recall you mentioning it a few times in the Hot 100 threads, but I'd never actually heard it until it came on the radio while I was at SuperCuts last week I don't see it becoming a BIG smash here ("Cool Kids" peaked at No. 2, but only spent 2 weeks on the chart), but it's definitely a sweet, soothing tune. Thanks Dylan! :) Lol at Riptide just now debuting for the first time it's alright I don't judge ;) Nice chart! Yay for SUAD returning and OctaHate at #1 Re: "Riptide", LOL. I'm still not a MASSIVE fan (it's nice, but not something I'd get hooked on)...but it's been on my mind lately due to its unusual Hot 100 achievement, so I've been playing it more than I ever had before. I think "OctaHate"s time at No. 1 is over for good now, but I'm definitely still digging it (same goes for SUAD.) Thanks Mark! :) 04.26.15 CHART PREVIEW: I'm honestly not sure what will end up at No. 1 tomorrow, so I'm excited to see how the play counts played out! I've definitely been spinning "Fight Song" and "Nobody Love" a lot this past week, as well as plenty of Mariah classics (in anticipation of "Infinity"s release on Monday.) I just downloaded "Honey, I'm Good." this morning, and I'm instantly hooked, but I doubt it'll rack up enough plays in one day to debut at No. 1. We shall see!

At first I didn't like it as much as Cool Kids but after a couple of listens it gets addictive No problem! Love your chart!

Funny you mention Nobody Love gaining on you a lot because that's the same that has been happening to me too the past couple of days (and I think Tori is really cute which helps the song too lol - my next celeb crush? :$). While it lagged behind by one day this week since I didn't listen to it on Thursday (nor was it in my head at all), it seems to have a lead these past couple of days so if it keeps this up all week...could it become the first song ever on 4/30 to re-enter at #1 on my chart? :O a few songs debuted at #1 but none debuted elsewhere only to fall out the next week and then return all the way up at #1 lol...would be really cool if we had the same #1 in a given week though so we will see what happens! I guess now is a good time as any to add in that I'm glad to see Nobody Love being the highest debut I'm gonna try to post my 4/23 chart tonight lol

Love your chart! Ah, sorry, I prolly should've phrased that a bit differently - I think SuperCuts has their own custom internet radio "station" (I remember Equinox having something similar, other businesses prolly do too), and I'm not sure if BDS counts/tracks something like that. Funny you mention Nobody Love gaining on you a lot because that's the same that has been happening to me too the past couple of days (and I think Tori is really cute which helps the song too lol - my next celeb crush? :$). This is an exciting development indeed! I haven't checked out your latest chart yet, but I'm curious to see how things turned out. Also - sounds like Tori has replaced Meghan Trainor? You certainly have a thing for blondes. ;) King at #2!! Also glad to see Shut Up And Dance and I Really Like You returning!! But if you ever DO try shading her here in my thread... ;) I'll definitely be charting the "Bad Blood" remix too as soon as it drops. <3 <3 <3 Love the fact that those previous number ones of mine are smashing and also that your hype for Mimi's new hits collection has caused her to dominate. Fantastic as usual, Paul. <3 <3 <3 <3 Thank you, Zebstin! You inspire me. <3

Paulboard Top 30 | Issue Date: 04.26.15• In a surprising and record-setting move, “Style” re-enters the chart at No. 1 to spend a seventh non-consecutive week in the pole position. This makes “Style” the longest-running No. 1 hit in Paulboard history, surpassing the (non-consecutive) six week run of “We Found Love” in 2011. • Due to the resurgence of “Style”, Andy Grammer narrowly misses out on debuting at No. 1 with his first-ever Paulboard entry, “Honey, I’m Good.” With Mariah’s new single dropping tomorrow, this was likely his only chance to reach No. 1. • I was browsing old Billboard issues last week, particularly the ones when Mariah reached and fell from No. 1, which put me in the mood to re-explore some 90’s classics, including “You Were Meant For Me”, “Barbie Girl”, and several Celine singles. @markg94 ; surfy ; hitseeker. ; Zeebz ; Dylan :) ; Mr. Thonk Eyes

Definitely was not expecting Style to re-enter at #1 for a 7th week on top lol :O glad to see Tori rising into the top 3! hopefully she can still somehow make #1 but I won't get my hopes up... Great chart, Paul!

This week seems so action-packed. Oops! It IS action-packed every week. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS! for all the comments. :) but for anyone who likes unpredictability, this is the chart for them! I'm in for this. Just seeing Mariah and Celine with so many chart entries makes me happy It's surprising to see a re-entry at top 5 what more if it's #1 but I don't really mind if it's "Style". Don't forget to add me in the tag list :)

XOXOXOXOXO to everyone who visited and/or commented here It means a lot! Definitely was not expecting Style to re-enter at #1 for a 7th week on top lol :O glad to see Tori rising into the top 3! hopefully she can still somehow make #1 but I won't get my hopes up... Great chart, Paul! Ha, yeah, "Style"s resurgence caught me off-guard too! I knew that I'd been playing it more/getting back into it lately, but I didn't realize just how MUCH I'd been playing it! While Tori's chances don't look great, I wouldn't completely count her out yet. I don't think my newest No. 1 (to be revealed soon) will have much longevity, and although I haven't heard "Pretty Girls" in full yet, I was pretty unimpressed by a LQ snippet that I checked out last week. Thanks, Mark! :) Ha, I had a hunch you'd be pleased by the Taylor's re-entries - and she has even more appearances on my newest chart. Thanks, JT! :) This week seems so action-packed. Oops! Thanks, Daniel! :)

Paulboard Top 30 | Issue Date: 05.03.15• After last week’s surprising No. 1 reveal, this latest chart features Mariah Carey predictably earning her sixth Paulboard No. 1 hit with "Infinity", which follows in the steps of “Angels Cry (Remix)”, “Oh Santa!”, “Triumphant (Pulse Remix Extended)”, “#Beautiful”, and “You’re Mine (Eternal).” • Despite having been added to my iTunes Library several weeks ago, Zedd's “I Want You To Know” just debuts now, after finally starting to click with me last week. • Speaking of DJ debuts, David Guetta enters at No. 24 this week with the Nicki Minaj-led “Hey Mama.” Their previous collaboration, “Turn Me On”, peaked at No. 1 in January 2012. @markg94 ; surfy ; hitseeker. ; Zeebz ; Dylan :) ; Mr. Thonk Eyes ; Daniel Collins

"Infinity" is #1 as expected while I have yet to hear the song and that means "Style" would've had an 8th week at #1 if not for Mariah's return :O I'm guessing year-end #1 is very likely for Style lol Glad to see Jason resurging lol at "I Want You To Know" just now debuting for the first time (I'm not a big fan of the song but I don't mind the song either) Yay for "Talking Body" re-entering so high boo at Tori falling :( (though she's bound to do the same on my chart this coming week) Great chart again!

Imagine if this chart goes back to 1990. :) Well on my chart , she only had one #1 with "You Don't Know What To Do" . Weird that it's not #1 in here. What's is it's peak in here? Great to see "Style" and "Honey I'm Good" not falling that much. Haven't heard "OctaHate" and "Fight Song" as of now but I'm planning to get those one of these days. No idea what "Crush" is. I liked "I Want You to Know" when it was realeased now I'm annoyed by its repetitiveness. I'm starting to love "Nobody Love". Don't know what to say about "Want to Want Me" I don't hate/love it. Yes @ "I Don't Wanna Cry" :'( One of the best ballads I've heard but the most underrated #1 of Mimi imo.

RE: "Style" - I don't keep a running tally of points for my Year-End Countdown, but I'll do a Mid-Year Update at the end of June, and you're quite likely right. "Love Me Like You Do" is probably its strongest competition, depending on how well "OctaHate" holds up. Re: "Infinity" - I'm a bit sad (though not too surprised) that you haven't checked it out - but I know you've heard my newest No. 1 before! ;) Thanks, Mark! Imagine if this chart goes back to 1990. :) Well on my chart , she only had one #1 with "You Don't Know What To Do" . Weird that it's not #1 in here. What's is it's peak in here? Re: "You Don't Know What To Do" - It actually peaked at No. 5 and spent 5 weeks total on my chart. I definitely like it, but it's not one of my top favorites on MIAM - that honor goes to "#Beautiful" and "Dedicated." I'm curious to see what you think of "OctaHate" and "Fight Song", when you get the chance to give them a listen (no pressure, though!) "OctaHate" is slightly alternative, but with a very infectious chorus. "Fight Song" is very...Sara Bareilles, very "Brave." Thanks, Daniel! I might be able to post my latest chart today - if not, I'll definitely post it tomorrow. Thanks, as always, to everyone for checking this out! :)
