It's moving way slower than I expected and I thought maybe this was not going to happen, but it's at a 14 on iTunes and pop is picking up again, Looks like it will enter the top 40 this week.

This must be the most underrated and ignored hit on pop radio on a good while.
She had three previous hits, this is selling really well, so it's very difficult to understand why it's struggling that much on airplay. I know it's a different sound, and probably not the best style for her voice, but it's a nice song and it's doing great in all other fronts. Of course her duet with Charlie Puth underperformed too (but it was less obvious, specially because it was doing well till suddenly tanked)

Are the call out scores for this good? I as well thought it was going to take off faster because of it's great sales and it did for a couple of weeks. Then it slowed down. Maybe as many people that like this song, dislikes it as well at this format???

I said this before in this thread but I thought this was a fantastic single choice and I'm glad to see this song finally starting to get a little steam. Of all the songs on her album, this one grabbed me right away and it's catchy enough to be a hit. It's good people, however slowly, are starting to come around.

I think people have been around for it for a while looking at her iTunes numbers. Radio was a different story for a while. Lots of songs ahead are falling so she should get further up the charts fairly easily now. I'm glad they are starting to push this as Grammy noms go out. It's always good to have a song on the radio during the voting season. I think she is a lock for BNA and will probably get a Pop Album nom.

I think if she doesn't get BNA then there was just some technicality where she wasn't eligible.
She definitely should get a pop vocal nom.
HOWEVER, I think Meghan Trainor is one of those people that REALLY connects with the most important buying demographic to make someone a star (young/teen girls), BUT she doesn't really grab anyone else outside of that demographic.
As in, I feel like her album doesn't have many listeners outside of the core demographic, so that could hold her back in terms of Grammy noms for Title.
I am so proud of her though. She has a really great, charismatic, everygirl kind of appeal.

If she was nominated last year for "All About That Bass" then why/how can she be nominated for "Best New Artist" this year?

I think fifth harmony is an example of a music act who only really connects to young teen girls and its reflective in their sales. They always have strong debuts but with the exception of worth it everything else just sells okay in the long run . Their album has sold about 150k Meanwhile trainors Album has sold around 750k or 850k so I think she is hitting more than just that young girl demographic. plus all about that bass was huge and I've certainly heard everyone sing that compared to worth it where really just my girl friends really sing along to it

I'm going to disagree too. Her throwback 60s sound is tailor-made for an older demographic and Grammy voters. I think that's why AATB got as many noms as it did. Grammy voters eat up stuff that sounds old school. She's a lock to get nominations for BNA and across the PPP field, solo performance, group/collaboration and pop album. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see her in AOTY. I'd say she's going to get at least 3 Grammy noms this year. I think if she doesn't get BNA then there was just some technicality where she wasn't eligible. She definitely should get a pop vocal nom. You could be nominated in a previous, you just can't win. They changed it after the Lady Gaga controversy a few years back, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Only AATB (the single) was eligible for last year's Grammys. You can't get nominated for BNA until you've released your debut album, which is why Rachel Platten and Charlie Puth will not be considered for this year.
