Im sure he was encouraged not to appear in the first video or two because of his look, notably being a ginger [yes labels are that shallow].
On this song, a nice album track, but doesnt cut it for me as a single, just a bit boring.

That's probably true. Before he became as big as he is, people weren't friendly in describing his homely face and look.
I think he's cute though. He's probably more my type than most male pop stars.

It was fast, and now reaching top 50 is not that easy, a song need the double of spins that usually were enough to reach 50

I like some of his songs but this one is so boring to me. Yet, I thought TOL was boring until it grew on me and finally loved it. I'm not sure this one will grow though. We'll see. Right now, it's a downer for me with summer coming and so many upbeat GREAT songs out there.

Yasss!!! Finally! I assume he will perform this in BBMA, which is great! I don't get why all the negative response for two ballads in a row. I mean, Ed already have two upbeat singles (Sing, Don't), make sense to release two ballads as well. Start complaining if One is released as single #5 (Which ideally would either be Nina or I'm A Mess, maybe Bloodstream) According to a Facebook post today, there won't be a 5th single. Ed posted the video and said "For anyone who missed it, here's my brand new music video for Photograph. This is the final single from Multiply". Though if this becomes a big hit there may be pressure to reconsider. I don't think they will do another. This will be on radio probably until August then they are gonna take a 2-3 month break and get a single ready for the end of 4 quarter with a new album (According to rumors he has a lot written and has been really inspired lately)

As expected really solid updates. Will be interested to see how high this will go as it's fairly pedestrian.

I could see this going Top 10. Probably not #1 though. It doesn't have the ease of Thinking Out Loud's message.

I'm surprised he performed "Bloodstream" over this. I mean his performance was great, and arguably my favorite of the night, but why not promote the current single? It's not like "Bloodstream" was even a US single either.

It was fourth in the UK; on the Pop Shop Podcast episode posted today, they explained that apparently the original plan was for Ed to perform it on the GRAMMYs, but since he did the ELO tribute and "Thinking Out Loud" instead, he decided to do it here.

Why the sudden entrance in the Top 100 on iTunes?

Why the sudden entrance in the Top 100 on iTunes? He performed it last night on the season finale of The Voice.

I'm surprised "Bloodstream" did not even make the Top 100 on iTunes after the Billboard performance. Really hoping this is at the very least a Top 10 on Hot 100 and CHR.

I think it's showing good signs, the song is climbing fast on pop and hot ac and it's on the verge of top 20 on itunes. The more that i listen it the more that i like it (and i liked it the video too)

Yay! Does anyone have US sales updates for both his albums and all his singles?

Ironically, I thought this was too cheesy and sentimental for him when I first got the album but it is now one of my favorites on the album. One will forever be the best song on the album though. Shame it won't be released. But excellent job on the singles all around.

Shame it won't be released. But excellent job on the singles all around. You can blame Taylor Swift. One was going to be the first single of the album but she conviced Ed to release Sing. Without counting the sales of this week, his albums sold in the USA (in UK + sold more than 1.5 and x more than 2 million) + 1,019,000 and x 1,453,000. I think x will be the third album released in 2014 that will pass 2 million (after 1989 of course, and In the lonely hour which will pass two million in a month or so). The sales are steady, and photograph is going to be a hit, so i think he will be there before the end of the year

Sing was a far better lead off than One. They've pulled off all the right singles if they wanted 5. One and Runaway would do some damage, but not as much as what has been released, or this.

That's how I felt about Thinking Out Loud, which was initially my least favourite track on the album and I felt it regressed back too much for him compared to the rest of it. Shows what I know I guess...

Oh no...he served up true old school soul on TOL. That is my second favorite song off the album and it was the moment I heard it.

Who said Taylor blocked One from being the first single? the first single was supposed to be "don't" but the label were worried about his "clean" image with a song that said "Fuck" many times including in the chorus.

Now that I'm hearing this a lot it's definitely his most John Mayer song to date. It's lack of marbly, raspy vocal is the only thing that prevents it from being a Continuum track because structurally, lyrically etc it's uncanny.
