The Weeknd is achieving crossover success with his song, "Earned It," from the "Fifty Shades of Gray" soundtrack. It is currently #3 on the Hot 100. He also hit #8 on the Hot 100 in 2014 for "Love Me Harder" with Ariana Grande. Max Martin is rumored to be the executive producer of his upcoming album. Three new songs have been registered on ASCAP:







I'm actually looking forward to this; he's grown on me a lot. I also love both "Love Me Harder" and "Earned It." I'm interested in hearing how Max Martin fits in with the sound he's created for himself (or if it will be completely different from anything he's done).

I've always like him, but "Love Me Harder" and "Earned It" are definitely my favorites by him, and I've heard some of these Max Martin tracks compared to MJ, so I'm excited.

I actually checked out Max Martin's production discography the other day out of curiosity, and this dude has seriously the pop-Midas touch. I didn't realize he had produced so many killer pop songs.

That said, I still can't picture how his sound will mesh with The Weeknd's at all. I'm excited though. I, too, love both "Love Me Harder" and "Earned It".

I Can't Feel My Face is OK. I prefer 95% of his mixtape material to it, but it's still a strong single. I love The Hills because it sounds like it could be from his mixtapes.

I'm 99% sure it'll be on the album. I think it was supposed to be the lead before "Can't Feel My Face" came about.

I'm assuming it will too. My only concern was that it leaked, and maybe they'd take it off. But then again, so did "Can't Feel My Face" and look where that is now lol.

Would probably be good to go the Drake route - have a few melodic pop songs ("Can't Feel My Face" = "Hold On, We're Going Home") but leave a lot/most of the album for more "authentic" true-to-form stuff.
