Pretty excited to hear this. I was a fan of all 4 singles from his last era, so there's definitely some hype for this song right now. The title seems interesting too, seems like it could go multiple ways.

Very curious to see what Randy does with his next album. He had quite the revival with "How Country Feels" and I'm hoping he can build on that. He does NOT need to go in a new direction as it seems everyone else is doing lately with their new albums. He's got a great voice and I think his momentum is in a good spot right now.
Title makes me think it could be something heartfelt.

Sounds decent^^ thanks for posting. I can't get over the obsession lately with everyone using the "driving" disco beat, either with drums or bass.
Would like to hear how his voice mixes in with that.

^That instrumental sounds great, it already made me want to roll my windows down and drive. Can't wait to hear a full version.

He's probably my favorite voice out right now so I'm beyond stoked for this. Hope this album era is even more successful than How Country Feels was.

Well the title is a bad choice, as it does have a certain OTHER meaning.....
In all seriousness I hope this is good. I feel bad that Like A Cowboy burned out so bad for me, as I do like it, my station just played the crap out of it

Always look forward to hearing new songs from this guy. The melody in the short clip sounds quite like a Luke Bryan melody.

To Zack97: please explain how the title is a bad choice because it could have some "other" meaning. Talk about judging a book by the cover! You've heard an intro snippet and have zero idea where the hook of the song leads to at this point. Why don't you wait until you've heard the song in its entirety before you put on your critical shoes. I suspect your presupposition is far off base.

In the clip he sounds kinda shouty to me; I was hoping he'd moved past that. I totally loved "Like a Cowboy," but everything else he's put out has paled in comparison for me.

Looking forward to this. Liked all singles but "Like a Cowboy" from his last album. So H likes "Donkey" but dislikes the masterpiece that is called "Like a Cowboy"???

Not that enamored of his voice and he often sounds a tad shouty and not melodic when he sings. But "Like A Cowboy" was such a masterpiece lyrically and musically (only Houser single I own) -it was my favorite song at the time. Although I'm not sure that I wouldn't have loved it if any other vocalist (decent one that is) sang the song. But I judge a song by the song usually so will give this a full listen.

I hope Stoney Creek can keep the momentum up with Randy Houser. A great start at the label deserves continued success.
This should be the start of a trilogy: We Went, We Saw, and We Conquered!

Andddd...this sounds just how I thought it would. Fast-talking verses...shouty chorus. I like Randy, but I think he took a big step backward with this one.

This goes to iTunes on May 18th. Damn I wonder why so late if it's already being sent to radio today. Not a fan of that decision.

Randy debuted the song on The Highway this morning. My guess is Stoney Creek want's some hype to build this single up and waiting for the add date is a way to do that, but then why would they debut it on The Highway today? This is the opposite approach they took with Thompson Square as "Trans Am" was immediately available on iTunes when it became available to radio. The of course the add day came last. Now even though Randy's facebook page that new music was coming today, that may have just meant it would debut on The Highway. This hasn't officially been sent to radio as of now (that could change by 3:00 p.m. ET). We'll have to wait and see.

I know lately it's all been about the sales so maybe it's changed, but I feel like it used to be pretty normal to wait a few weeks after the radio launch to release a single for purchase. I don't think waiting three more weeks is going to hurt anything here.

I like this a lot. It's groovy, but not to the point of missing the mark on the genre (like Thomas Rhett and Brett Eldredge's new ones). It's got that country instrumentation and it paints a great picture of the story. It's kind of got this dark vibe, but with a smirk. That guitar riff is contagious.

I love this, and it might be one of favorite singles of the year already. Reminds me more of the style we saw with "How Country Feels" than we did with "Like A Cowboy" or "Goodnight Kiss". His vocals are killer in this, and all I wanted to do while listening to it was get in my car and drive through the middle of nowhere just blaring it with my windows down. This is exactly what I wanted from Randy, and I think it will have no trouble hitting #1.

Welp, it is indeed available to radio as of now: So the adds date coincides with digital release date. This makes more sense than releasing it right now when it's likely to not get a lot of attention from radio yet to spur much sales interest. As for this song, not really feeling it. The production is pretty overbearing and he gets shouty on the chorus, which is something I've never liked about Randy. I was enamored with "Like a Cowboy," but he's back to being "meh" with this. Hopefully he has another song like "Like a Cowboy" in his arsenal though because I loved him on that.

^ I already mentioned it would be available to iTunes a few posts up (and of course the add date has been the same since the thread was started). :)
Again, debuting it already on The Highway is what was a little different since the label usually would send it to iTunes once there's a world premiere but it's not a huge deal in the end, and I think Randy will do quite well on impact day.
