This is one of the most asinine songs I have ever heard marketed as country, edging out "Doin' Country Right" by miles.
This, people, is what it has come to.

No really, you shouldn't have Jordan. I agree with jhomes87 in that this will do nothing on mainstream radio. It's too polarizing and frankly I don't think radio (or the FCC) will be enjoying the crude play on words. The song itself is one of the most horrid things anyway with the lackluster vocals and non-country production. EMI Nashville and Mike Dungan have made so many terrific signings and decisions over the years, but I'm in awe of this one.

I have a lot of respect for Mike Dungan and this signing doesn't change anything. Everybody's gotta mess up sometime. And I started the thread but don't anybody think that means I actually like the song.

Ah no....wow. I am all for a new sound, but she is going to stand out in a bad way. There is no way this makes even a dent on the charts.

Windmills on twitter basically says that the logic behind this is nothing but buzz and it's low-hanging fruit for haters, hoping that hate turns into buzz.
I agree with that to a point, but that only gets you so far. In the end, I don't think there will be enough supporters for this song or her music, and mainstream radio ignoring this is still going to happen - no matter what "buzz" is made from the hate for this one.
Haley apparently already has multiple performances scheduled for CMA Music Fest in June, so that should be interesting.

I was considering putting this up as the Pulse Song Of The Week but then I remembered I had Standards!

I don't actually dislike this, honestly, because... since when did iggy azalea try to make country music lmao It sounds like Iggy Azalea-meet-Ke$ha, two artists I enjoy music from. That said, this belongs far, far away from country radio and I'm stunned they're seriously releasing this to this genre.

since when did iggy azalea try to make country music lmao in all seriousness this is s**t I usually try to be more constructive in my criticisms of songs, but you know what...that's basically what this song is. That's what it has come down to, and my frustration of this nonsense continues to grow. There are hardworking, talented individuals trying to make great meaningful music and we are unfortunately subject to money-grabbing morons in Nashville who couldn't give two trucks about the genre or the rich musical history of the artists who created and fostered it. Now, trust me when I say I'm much more of a fan of today's country than that of Hank Williams Sr and Mr Conway Twitty, but we've crossed the line from modernizing the music to walking in horse crap. I know this won't do anything on the charts but at the very least it makes me sick that those folks posing in the photo of Haley signing her deal find nothing atrocious about what is happening right under their own noses.

This is absolutely a terrible song. It felt like it was 9000 minutes long just trying to get through the whole thing. I'm a fan of many things that are new 'trends' but this song? Um. No. It's not even a good pop song.

Acts like this are why we need Reba, Kacey and Maddie & Tae.
Horrible.

If this song has any success on country radio I will definitely make it a goal to attend one of her concerts and make as much noise as possible with airhorns, noise distractions, etc. until I am kicked out. At least I will have provided more "country" through my actions than this song does.

Oh good, so they want to bring in a Kesha and Iggy Azalea sound too? Geez having Thomas Mars is enough. Hell may freeze over before these people understand...if we liked Kesha and Bruno Mars we would not be listening to country.

Hell may freeze over before these people understand...if we liked Kesha and Bruno Mars we would not be listening to country. Not everyone likes country music and country music alone. I love country, but I also love Ke$ha. However, I do agree that the two shouldn't mix. This really doesn't have any business being pushed to country radio and I'm confused as to why they're trying it, but I do know that like others have said, this won't be a hit for obvious reasons.

I try not to comment when I feel real negative towards a song, or even indifferent, but I feel I have to here and this is just as the title says, RIDICULOUS. I don't generally wish for people or songs to tank and this time I want this song to die a spectacular death before it ever gets started. I get trying to create buzz around a new act however you can, but is creating buzz with a song like this (aka a reallybad one) the way to go especially for a female at this point in time? If they're trying a Sam Hunt thing here, it isn't going to work because while his songs aren't really country, they are still good songs.

This song is redic, redic, this song is redic, redic, ridiculous, but the worst part is that you guys made me click on the link and now this chorus is stuck in my head.
I must say that I think the hook is quite clever with the word play (not exactly for a country song), but oh my, what a mess. This is awful, from lyrics to production to everything else.

Oh my god can the little f***king diva come off as anymore arrogant? Good god WHAT THE HELL is this doing being pushed to radio?!? It's hard to come up with a mature response as to why this song sucks. The fact is is that it's s**t, plain and simple. You know you don't have to have a fiddle or steel guitar in every song (we get it Country radio, label heads, whoever and whatever, you don't care much for country) but why the hell does the genre continue to struggle with its everlasting identity crisis?!? Adding pop, r &b, rap, etc, to your music isn't "evolving" country, especially when some of the latest songs don't have a lick of country to them, whether it be in the lyrics or production. The mainstream of country just continues to become more and more of a joke everyday. Sure maybe THIS song won't become a hit, but how long until the inevitable happens? Until this flaming pile of dog poo starts to be the "norm"? God knows were always looking for more trends >:(

Normally I don't make posts like this, but... I feel like Rebecca Black has more talent than Haley Georgia.

Well, I for one cannot wait for the remix with Jerrod Niemann. It is sure to be "Redonkulous"!
Thanks, I'll show myself out...

Just awful. I wasn't even going to listen to it after reading the comments, but curiosity got the better of me. The upside about it being so unbelievably bad is that no way will radio touch it.

Thanks, I'll show myself out... So you won't be here all week (and we shouldn't tip our waitress/waiter?)? Worst-case scenario: This sees absurd success on the "mongrel" chart, thus "legitimizing" this as a hit.

Heard this last week on The Highway and my son (13) looked at me with that stink eye look and we laughed about this song for a solid hour. What a disaster of a song in every way. Now if I can just get my son to quit singing the stupid thing.....

Oh wow, I didn't realize she was on EMI. This was honestly so bad I just assumed it was on an indie. This really is ridiculous....

lol it's awful, but it is catchy in it's own way. I could see it getting stuck in my head. It's not country though and it's an auto-tuned mess. Her voice also sounds really bad and I'm just going to assume all the auto-tune is there to compensate for a lack of vocal talent until I hear further things from her. Luckily, I'm not worried about this doing much of anything.
