I'm betting Corey Crowder is a co-producer on this. I also expect it to be another soul/R&B flavored track, given that Josh Hoge (Will's brother) released a R&B-like album that could've been used as a template for the latest trends.

The charts are really about to be a bloodbath aren't they? This is new, Randy is new, Zac Brown Band are new (though only replacing themselves on the chart, but still). We are still expecting releases from The Band Perry, Hunter Hayes, Craig Campbell, Luke Bryan, and Jake Owen too. Some songs are going to suffer as a result, with most casualties probably being some of the newer artists trying to break through on the chart.

I generally love Chris Young, but I didn't care for 'A.M.' at all, and the title here worries me. Of course, I'll wait until I hear it to judge it.

I'm a huge fan of Chris Young and his music. He's easily my favorite male artist in country music. A.M was probably his weakest album to date, but I still thought it was great. Very excited to hear this and don't have any reason to believe that I won't like it because he has yet to disappoint me.

This is great news! One of the smoothest voices I've heard in a long time. Chris has always reminded me of Keith Whitley.

This is great news! One of the smoothest voices I've heard in a long time. Chris has always reminded me of Keith Whitley. His cover of "Don't Close Your Eyes" on the Opry is absolutely amazing. One of my favorite performances ever. He has a killer voice and it's perfectly country. His vocals make some of the more average/mainstream sounding songs on A.M sound more interesting than they probably would have if they were recorded by someone else.

Update on Hunter-we've gotten word of a new single by the end of May! Also psyched for TBP and Luke. I'll wait to see what Jake and Chris put out before getting excited for theirs.

Two things we've not seen before since Chris's career began with RCA. 1. He has always performed new music live prior to lead single release date. 2. He has never counted down the days in this fashion prior to ship date to radio. You only do it this way if you and others on the inside are confident this will make a big splash. If you're not so confident, you reveal the music the way they did for A.M. and the three projects prior to that. Can't wait to hear if this rises to a standard not yet seen. Hope the song writing is of the highest degree and the sound is fresh, bold, and all country. If so, this special talent has a chance to stand out from the crowd and break through as a real superstar because he has the personality and the chops to go with it.

That was my first thought from the title, that he's a-comin' over to get it on with his girl, with or without her black dress.
But it would be an entertaining change-up if it were something else, like Chris comin' over to some guy's house to give him a whupping for some sort of offense lol.

I think this album will be a bit of a return to form, I know a large part of A.M. was to avoid becoming the "love song guy", but I think the problem is he just does it much better than anyone else and people dig it. I enjoyed A.M. and I think it accomplished what it needed to (give him some up-tempo songs for his live shows), but I definitely would prefer more "Getting You Home" than "Aw Naw" with this new stuff.

Chris' facebook page is really taking "I'm Comin' Over in ?? days" thing seriously. Every day it's the same teaser art, just a one day less. Lol I thought it was just going to be updated like that every couple days.

I heard an interview where someone was trying to squeeze information out of him about this song and he was staying pretty tight-lipped. He did say it was a sexy song and it's about what you would imagine when you hear the title. All he gave was a line that says "we break up, we make up and we make love".
I'm trying to reserve any judgement until I hear it, but in my mind it's pretty promising that it was co-written with Josh Hoge and Corey Crowder.

I personally think the secrecy on this is a good strategy. Based on some interviews I have read and listened to recently indicate that Chris is really taking the reigns on this project. As a co-producer on the upcoming album shows that he wants to take things to the next level.

Anticipation is never a bad thing when it comes to lead singles and secrecy is a strategy that RCA feels is justified with Chris given his recent success. However I've been let down before when it comes to a highly anticipated debuts so we'll see. :)

Chris is filming the video for the new single tonight in Nashville. If I am not mistaken, this is a first. Having a video ready for the release could prove pivotal.

It probably won't come out for a few weeks yet. It takes a little bit of time for them to edit it. The fact that they're filming now probably just means that they want to release it a few weeks after the song is actually sent to radio.

I guess I should have rephrased my statement. I actually meant, having it come out shortly after release is a first . With every other single the label waited to see how it would do on radio before a video was even considered. That's why I'm particularly excited about this single.

Lots of firsts going on with this new music which indicates an extreme level of confidence on how it will be received. With A.M. they had the new music exposed months ahead of first single and "Aw Naw" was performed to CRS weeks ahead of ship to radio. "Neon" was much the same with "Tomorrow" and "I Can Take It From There" performed well in advance of radio. When you do it that way, you want to test how it will be received. What they are doing now has all the indications of what they know works with Chris enhanced with a fresh but truly country sound as his voice is all country. His Keith Whitley covers demonstrate that in spades. We'll see how this goes, but there's no mistake his management and label are all in on this project.
I've been saying this for years, Chris Young has what it takes to bring country music back to it's roots and revive it's popularity if really high quality song writing is there. Up to now, he's had some good songs, but none that have reached the great status. If what we're about to hear rises to that level, this once-in-a-generation level talent's career will explode. If it sounds much the same as he's already done or what others have done, it will be difficult for him to bust down those barriers and stand out from the crowd.

Official album artwork: His album is a co-production by Chris and Corey Crowder. No more James Stroud (this go round at least).

The production is tight with programmed loops mixing with steel gutiars and a strong lyric from Chris Young an emotional ballad (or how most ballads sound in ca. 2015). Impressed. The lyrics are tight and the bridge where he expands his range? On point. Here's the lyrics. roughstock.com/lyrics/2015/05/34923-chris-young-im-coming/

Here's the chorus via Chris Young's facebook page. "I'm Comin' Over" goes to iTunes at Midnight.

I have always liked Chris Young, A.M. made me sour a little bit especially Aw Naw, but I digress. His voice is fantastic, probably the best male voice in country music, and it has bothered me that he doesn't get more awards recognition. Hopefully in this album cycle he can get a MVOTY nomination, and single and song, if this song is as good as it is. Maybe even Grammy nominations.
On a side note I think Chris should be nominated for Male Vocalist over Dierks, don't hate me.
