this looks like American Bandstand or something similar most television performances are at least partially lip synced because of all the angles they are filmed from

I'm not sure what the issue is with how Janet chooses to dress. Off stage, she's ALWAYS covered up. Her body, her clothes, her choice...

Nothing is just OK. It was cute for a sec, but it got old really fast.

Janet got some love from the EMAsIt was the year Jackson's sixth album, The Velvet Rope, came out and sold over ten million copies. It was a killer album featuring moving songs like, "Together Again," "I Get Lonely" and "Go Deep." The Velvet Rope had people all over the world obsessing over her and established her as a total icon.
Meanwhile, Toni Braxton had people in pretty much every country belting out her hit song, "Unbreak My Heart," but in the end her heartbreak anthem just couldn't compete with Jackson's insanely successful album.
There's no doubt that the 1997 award for Best Female went to the year's best female.

An album nomination would be justified.

I would switch "Unbreakable" to the general and moved the album to R&B album. She also could've sent something to R&B traditional. Nevertheless it's a vast improvement over last year.

I so want Should've Known Better as a single! It's so fitting right now. I This is one of 7 songs I constantly revisit from the Unbreakable album.

I'm still rooting for Night as the next single. This gem hasn't aged a day for me.

Singles are still happening? Serve me Night please. Btw- after a year of this album being released, it truly holds a place as one of her best albums of all time. I think the "Big 4" (control-VR) now needs to be the Big 5

Disappointed but not surprised that Janet got no Grammy nominations. The Grammys have never been kind to her.

Disappointed but not surprised that Janet got no Grammy nominations. The Grammys have never been kind to her. It seems like a distant memory but I really thought this would get some recognition. I saw an article moaning that Solange and Bryson Tiller were ignored to give Mya a nomination, and think it's a little off base since they'd probably fall into the Urban Contemporary category. Janet on the other hand... That said, I haven't listened to the Mya album yet.

If anything, Mint Condition's "Christmas" album or Terrace Martin's album that I've seen classified everywhere else as "jazz" took up space.

Disappointed but not surprised that Janet got no Grammy nominations. The Grammys have never been kind to her. Last year was the best chance. Janet had all of the success and buzz with the tour, RRHOF nomination, the album, and No Sleeep. I truly believe if they correctly submitted No Sleeep to the right categories, she would've won. The album is unfortunately lost in the shuffle in the bigger picture a year and some change later.

I'd really love to hear the logic behind that decision.

Yup, one of the biggest Urban AC hits of 2015 and they submit it to the Pop Vocal categories????? It's not 2001 anymore when All For You can sweep those noms

Was it that "No Sleep" came out RIGHT before the Grammy eligibility period? This song and album was pretty hyped up at first. Maybe the label thought it was going to take of at Pop formats and become a mainstream hit????

It was a hit on UAC and performed modestly on Urban. I don't believe it was sent to Pop radio.

The problem with "No Sleep" is that it was submitted in pop category instead of R&B last year Now that another poster pointed out that "No Sleep" was out in late June and that the label still put it in pop categories is just stupid. I agree "No Sleep" should have been submitted to the Urban categories. I thought it was one of those cases where they rushed out a song thinking it would get nominated. Janet's comeback seemed like she was going to get one more mainstream hit at the time. I have no clue why they went with Pop when the song had been out for two months and barely made an impression there???

I think the biggest mistake was releasing the album in October. She would have a better chance at getting some noms if it made the 2015 grammys eligibility period. There was so much buzz around her comback reviews were great, and urban ac welcomed her with open arms. In 2016 Unbreakble is an old news + she cancelled the tour because she's busy being pregnant.
