I'm not surprised. She has a show on Thurs, Fri, and Sunday. That would be 4 days in a row with the festival on Sat.

As someone who's had multiple ear infections, I know that they can be very unpleasant.

She cancelled I Heart. Claiming ear infection. She never claimed anything. Her choreographer denied the ear infection story that has been floating around. I'm not saying he's completely in-the-know, but I trust him more than Entertainment Tonight, which is where the story originated.

Gil is so extra. I'm not saying that in a good way either.

Yet your employer apparently cancelled a whole tour due to vertigo, i.e. an inner ear problem.

She put on a great show in Toronto last night! Shoulda Known Better was a standout too, can't wait for it on the album!

I wonder if her team will release a limited vinyl edition of the album in late September so that it can make the 2015 Grammy deadline like Annie Lennox & U2 did last year.

Apparently she is no longer doing the IHeartRadio Festival this weekend. :( That sucks. I hope there will be some promo for the album after all... It almost feels like she's putting out new music just to tour now. Like a true nostalgia act.

But she has a break from tour when the album is released, she'll have a busy promo week then (I hope)

Yet your employer apparently cancelled a whole tour due to vertigo, i.e. an inner ear problem. 7 dates is not an entire tour. If we're splitting hairs, I should have said "cut it short." I got burned on plane fare and hotel for the Montreal gig, which she cancelled an hour before showtime. However, this is besides the point, which is that Gil should not be so disingenuous as to claim it is absurd to think that she might have an ear issue, given her prior history. It's no wonder her fans would be nervous. (Unless she never had an ear issue when RWU dates were cancelled, and he is simply forgetting the party line, which is much more likely.) :)

And I agree with your comments on Gil. I understand he wanted to reassure the fans that panic, but he doesn't have to always speak for her.

I agree, full report! And I don't want to see "one song that I forget..." Bish you better bring a pen and notepad and when you return I want a thesis and 200 page dissertation on this!

O.M.G.
Here are my notes...I signed an agreement that I won't share any confidential information which includes "descriptions of recordings" so I won't mention specific tracks here... BUT you can try to guess them.
First of all, she touches almost ALL GENRES possible on this album. It sounds very unique for a Janet album but mostly pop. There are less r&b tracks than I thought. Ballads are smooth, one song that goes "Who's gonna be there after it all? / I will" is purely a piano ballad. And a lovely one.
It's not sexy album, it's a happy album. One song is gloriously EDM "I had a great epiphany / Rhythm Nation was that dream". Another dance track (with one word title) will sound tremendous when remixed. Pure dancefloor bliss.
Thematically it's closest to Rhythm Nation as a whole. There are songs that are classic soul. One song in the album declares: "I've seen a beautiful vision / What we can create"... it's like Heal the World gone smooth soul. The song after that sounds like a Jackson 5 song in the new millennium.
The heart of the album is probably the time when she whispers over a mysterious beat: "You never know, unless you've been there".
No Sleeep is definitely a highlight there too.
Fabulous stuff, very versatile. Artistically ambitious.
EDIT: It starts with Unbreakable and three upbeat tracks after that, as usual (I think she has had the same concept since Damita Jo)

Thanks for the review! I'm quite surprised it isn't as R&B as thought. I'm looking forward to "Night"

Unbreakable and No Sleeep are the most r&b tracks there are imo. Now to think of it, No Sleeep was an obvious choice for a single.

Maybe 4 proper singles, given that Unbreakable isn't one. The track posted here earlier, The Great Forever, is an obvious one. Not sure about BURNITUP but her hardcore fans will stan for it a bit I'd say.
