While this is set to impact HAC radio tomorrow, a pop push looks imminent as well - it's listed in PlayIGA's Top 40 playlist. Currently top 20 on country.

Yes, one of the best country songs of the year is about to become a multi-format smash!

I love the song, never a little (and misleaded) backlash was so good for promo.
I liked some of their previous songs, but this is perfect for a crossover, and it could cross even before peaking at country which could produce one of the biggest country songs in a good while

It was a matter of time before it started crossing over. Beautiful ACM performance.

Wow, as someone who grew up listening to country because of my parents it is really surprising to me to see how little country music has changed over the years. Obviously this song is just one piece of country music since I don't listen to the genre much any more, but it's really interesting.

I'm finally starting to like this song after I first heard it in whole at a bowling alley a week ago.

To me this is more a pop song than a country song to begin with. I really like it and her singing is crazy on it. I think this will go #1 on Hot AC and could go top 15 on pop.

This doesn't sound country at all, imo. It has a good beat that kicks in in parts, but then as soon as it starts it fades away. I hope they make a mix with that beat throughout.

I am glad to see this getting released to this format! I heard it on an AC station last week at work and I looked it up earlier and was pleasantly surprised to learn it was this. I had read some articles about the controversy surrounding the song's subject matter but I never got around to hearing it. I love the vocals and the lyrics. I see this going all the way to number one.

When is it crossing over? I hope pop is nicer to it then country radio. The truth is the song is doing well on country right now, but before the controversy was covered by the press the updates were really bad for a song that was selling so well. It's not uncommon songs with great sales underperforming on the country chart, but generally are from newcomers, that was the case of Kacey Musgrave's Merry go round (in my opinion one of the best country songs of the decade) and Dand and Shay's 19 you + me, but both songs ended being top 10 hits. For a group with some previous big hits it was a little weird that a song that has such positive reception were doing that bad (so so in the best case scenario). Now it's near top 20, very far from its real success but climbing at good rhythm

The song is doing okay. It's the biggest smash in country music in a while in terms of sales and country radio stations are not jumping on it. Its a shame

If it wasn't for the "controversy" (which was overblown), it would still be struggling at country radio but selling in the top ten country just like it was before. The real controversy is that a female led ballad is going to struggle at country radio unless it's by Miranda or Carrie no matter how good it is. And even with them it may not be "Automatic" ACM Song of theYear # 2 airplay. It's been 2 years since a solo female artist had the #1 song on Billboard's airplay chart. Even singles by bands with a female lead need to be up or mid tempo and about drinking or partying to get to the top of the country charts. Hopefully this will soon change as the reign of bro-country too slowly dies.

I just heard the song on my Hot AC station. It is really a very nice song and the vocals are super. However, I will say that hearing it in between songs by Katy Perry and Maroon 5, the song does sound more "country" than I initially thought. That may slow it down some on Pop without a remix which I hope they don't do. I am not a fan of remixes just to get airplay on a certain radio format.

3rd most added song to Hot AC radio this week!
A more upbeat remix could do wonders for this song on pop radio (preferably with a 3rd chourus too).

Even singles by bands with a female lead need to be up or mid tempo and about drinking or partying to get to the top of the country charts. Hopefully this will soon change as the reign of bro-country too slowly dies. And the worst part is, with a few exceptions, that are the girls the ones that are doing good music, way more creative in sound and lyrics that the average man on country right now. There are an incredible uniformity in sound and themes in the country chart right now I remember a month or so ago, the whole top 10 were solo males (most of them singing about drinking) and the first band was at 12 (Zach Brown Band) and the first woman was at 20 (Miranda, of course). Miranda and Carrie are the only woman getting airplay right now, but even them are getting a lot of trouble to reach the top. Taylor's departure from country had the effect that the third woman getting good airplay dissapeared from the country map, and nobody took her place. And we are not talking about people who can be considered edgy by their lyrics like Kacey Musgraves (no matter how good reviews she has), more classical love songs female singers are struggling as well. Right now the whole top 10 is all male again, the first woman is Carrie at 11, Kelsey Ballerini is at 13 with a song that is selling well for months (and took a good while to rise the airplay). Miranda new single flopped bit time The whole chart is monocromatic, and payola works full time to promote the same type of song again and again. Getting great reviews and awards doesn't matter at all if you don't fit the brocountry sound right now

I have a feeling this could blow up and do damage on Pop.
It's the top-selling Country song on Itunes, and really doesn't come across to me musically as your typical Country track. I think it has a chance.
