This is pretty and well-written, but I can't get into it. I thought maybe it would grow on me once radio started playing it, but it hasn't so far. I definitely don't begrudge her finding success with this, though. It is a good song, I just wish I personally liked it better.

I agree with LBTrocks in that it's a pretty song, but I think one thing that also prevents me from liking this more is that I, personally, don't really understand the meaning of the lyrics. I definently think I'd like this more if I could just understand the message of the song.

Agreed. I really want to like this, but it just falls flat for me. I agree with LBTrocks in that it's a pretty song, but I think one thing that also prevents me from liking this more is that I, personally, don't really understand the meaning of the lyrics. I definently think I'd like this more if I could just understand the message of the song. The narrator of the song is lonely and depressed. The first verse depicts this feeling. He/she wishes that they could "run away from all of reality", so they imagine the Peter Pan scenario of being whisked away to a far away place where they will have friends and "never be lonely". Much of the song simply consists of references to the stories (Peter Pan, Lost Boys, Neverland, Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, Wendy Darling, the Woods, pixie dust, flying over the town, etc). The narrator describes it all as their "perfect storybook". They want to live in the world of Neverland, where they can leave behind all of their problems from "the town that never loved me". Also of note, there have been many theories that Peter Pan is actually supposed to represent the Angel of Death, taking away children upon their death, which is why they "never grow up". The song could easily be about suicide. One night, depression hit hard and the narrator took their own life. They imagine it would take them to a better place, presented in the Peter Pan/Neverland/Lost Boy context. Green clouds are also indicators of something bad or dangerous (usually a tornado), and they touch down in Neverland "peacefully". A bit more of a stretch, but just another theory that I think is certainly plausible It's a well crafted song. She sings it beautifully, but the laundry list of Peter Pan references sometimes just makes it feel a little awkward for me, which prevents it from being something I can listen to over and over again. But I certainly give the girl credit and I'm interested to see where her future takes her.

I'll stick with "Peter Pan" by Kelsea Ballerini as my Peter Pan influenced song.

The chat for this song is quiet but makes sense since there isn't much in terms of sound for the song Great vocals and lyrics but it isn't highly interesting, but its nice to see a song like this get some success. This is great for occasional listens
