Who did it better, McBride or McEntire?

Both are good but I actually like Martina's better, it suits her voice better I think.

Don't be too shocked just yet... I voted for Martina. Lol! But actually, I do think her version is just a little bit better. It has never been anywhere near my favorite Martina songs, but now that Reba's version came out I have been listening to it a lot more with new ears. I think the song flows much better as a first-person narration. Reba's third-person take on it, while definitely age-appropriate, seems clunky at times because she has to cram in "she saids" when Martina just says "I". It is also a wonderful example of a soft and understated delivery from Martina, which she knocks out of the park. I also like Martina's phrasing better. Reba's seems very broken up into individual lines while Martina's flows better from line to line. Both versions are good, but after having awhile for Reba's to sink in I just can't listen to it without imagining Martina's version.

I prefer Martina's version. I really, really like her understated vocal on "Love Land." I think it suits her voice really well and I prefer the first-person perspective, even though Reba's cover is quite wonderful as well. Already being in love with Martina's for some time now perhaps made it a little harder for it to be beat, too.

Reba is a master storyteller, and no one holds a candle to her there, wins hands down.

Not a song I particularly care for, but both Reba and Martina sing it very well. Going to give the edge to Reba, because I just find her version more interesting.
