I think this song can get in next week. Let's see Tim is gone thats one spot. Easton I think will leave. Thats 2. Casey and Aaron should also go recurrent. Clare doesn't have a ton of audience but given how many songs are leaving Clare should get in. I'm still not expecting this to be a hit. For better or worse.

I heard this on the radio for the first time yesterday, and I really liked it. But listening to it now again...I feel that something is a bit 'off' with the mix between her vocals and the production. I really like the arrangement, the melody, and the lyrics...but it's hard to understand what she's singing during the chorus. It's not that the song is too loud, or at least I don't think it is...but her vocals just seem to be a bit buried in the mix.
Overall though I do like this quite a bit. However, I'm not sure I see it becoming a hit.

I think the melody is very infectious, and I enjoy the lyrics but if I didn't see them before hearing the song I would have a difficult time understanding what some of the words were in the chorus. I'm just not a fan of the production or mixing in general and I find that it detracts from the song itself. I still wish "Cowboy Side Of You" had been her terrestrial radio debut, even though the production on that song I find to be overbearing -- I enjoy that song very much and still do, ever since I heard it on The Highway last Fall.

I appreciate both of you being able to put my thoughts on this song into words. I've been trying to figure out why this song doesn't immediately work for me, and you guys nailed it.

Not being able to understand her words on the chorus and finding the mixing a little 'off' has always been a bit jarring for me, but I have grown to really like this one though in spite of that. I love everything about the verses, especially her phrasing, and I really feel like this song is very 'anthemic' and I do like the feel it goes for. I just wish it could've been tweaked a little more to make the chorus have a little more clarity.

This woman is a badass. This might not be the song to break her but it sure is catchy. She just screams confidence and swagger.

Great music video. I really like the underground feel of it and I felt like it fit the song super well. She also just looks amazing and oozes with star potential like what mus1cr0w hinted at. This song really knows how to get stuck in my head. How is it doing anyway? I get the feel like it isn't making much of an impact, sadly.

I absolutely love Clare Dunn, loved "Get Out" and "Cowboy Side Of You", & I love "Move On". Does anyone think, or have any inside information that "Move On" will start moving up the charts. This song seems to be pretty radio friendly, and has hit written all over it in my opinion. I am out in the Los Angeles market and KKGO "Go Country" 105.1 never plays this song. I didn't check but I wonder if they have even added it at this point. Great voice, amazing song!

"Move On" is doing alright...nothing spectacular but its hanging in there. It climbed three spots to #49 on MB this week and has gained nearly 200k in audience the past three days. The month of July saw this song struggle a bit in the 50's but it has started to pick up a bit as it finally enters the MB top 50. MCA Nashville/UMG looks to be in the long haul with Clare and this song, so I wouldn't get too discouraged yet. I think this song is pretty radio-friendly as well but its hard for new artists (especially new female artists) to gain traction with their debut single, so only time will tell. KKGO is actually a spin leader for "Move On" as they have spun Clare's song 14 times this past week and have contributed 225k in "Move On's" total audience, which is by far the highest audience total for any station spinning it.

Thanks so much for the update and all the information Sabre14. I must not have the radio on when it's playing, I'll keep listening for it out here in Los Angeles. Thanks again.

This is, to most of the USA, her debut single. It'll take a long while for it to catch on. If it has a few breaks it can move to the Top 30 and then Top 20 and then Top 10 (if it's lucky). Clare is certainly a favorite of the label CEO Mike Dungan so she'll get the support for a good while yet.

Well it looks like this song might go recurrent next week as Clare has lost her bullet twoweeks in a row. It remains to be seen if the label can rally but I doubt this song moves much higher given the songs rumbling right below Move On.

I actually like this, but it's one of the few songs out there recently where I can understand the "but it's not country" argument that usually bothers me.

While I agree that this isn't very country-sounding, it's definitely not the song I would single out and label as a "non-country song sent to country radio" (that would go to "Break Up In A Small Town" or "Beautiful Drug"). To me, "Move On" sounds like it's straight out of the Keith Urban playbook (which isn't a surprise, given that Clare can absolutely shred on the guitar, and she's cited Keith as one of her favorite artists and biggest influences). So yeah, definitely not a traditional-sounding country song, but I think it absolutely fits within the format (more-so than the Sam and ZBB songs I named above) and I think it's a great sound for Clare (although I still think her voice is a bit too buried during the chorus, but that's my only minor complaint with this song). No other female artists have a sound like Clare has on this song.

No other female artists have a sound like Clare has on this song. I still think this is different from anything else I've heard from any recent female in the genre. It's very bombastic and almost ridiculously bass-heavy. I wasn't trying to single it out as the "non-country song sent to country", but a "non-country song sent to country", in part because I hadn't heard BUiaST until writing this post. You are right about this one; BUiaST makes Sam Hunt's previous output sound like "Your Cheatin' Heart" in comparison. Urban's last album had a very pop influence, but I still don't think anything on Fuse was comparable to this song in terms of production. Even John Cougar etc. has acoustic strumming throughout, which at least gives it an element that could be argued as country. And "Beautiful Drug" also has acoustic guitar and banjo under the EDM production, which is why I didn't single it out.

"Move On" increased 74 spins and over 800k in audience this week, with half of that coming from KKBQ in Houston who added the song to their regular rotation this past week. It moves from #50 to #47 on MB.

She's definitely got enough sass and attitude to bring back fond memories of similarly rambunctious standout attitude-soaked tracks, with 'My Give A Damn's Busted' being my choice as the gold standard of the past 10=-12 years, with Gunpowder & Lead right up there.
Great video to boot.

With the help of KKBQ in Houston, "Move On" increases over 900k in audience and moves up 12 spots to #46 on Billboard Airplay this week.

I do not like this song. Clare why do all your songs have to be so loud all the time? You can be a good guitar player without have to be too loud. Brad Paisley is an example of a guitarist who doesn't play too loud. I've seen brad in concert a couple of times and both times he was pretty stinking loud! Not that I mind, he's a monster!

Thanks Daniel Collins , I tried Firefox and it worked. Your avatar is prefect btw lol. Thanks for posting this one :) . I was getting the same error message that others were from All Access. Anyway, I do love this. The production/instrumentation does tend to drown her voice out a little bit, but not enough to make me like the song less. Just like .indulgecountry I was certain she was singing "Autumn days"... I guess she isn't though lol. Still doesn't sound like "all them days" though. If anything, it sounds like she is singing "all dem days" lol. I don't think its the guitar playing that's too loud. I think it's just that maybe she attended the Meghan Trainor School of Enunciation (you know I'm all about dat bass about dat bass no treble). This is definitely not a favorite of mine.

Well, after three weeks of Sam Hunt being the fastest climbing artist on the airplay chart, Clare Dunn takes over for a week. I hope she can get a solid hit out of Move On.

This sounds just like a 90's rock song, like something Alanis Morissette would record. It's not bad, but it's certainly not country sounding. No banjo, steel guitar, or fiddle.

KKBQ in Houston has been the major reason why this song has been energized. "Move On" has increased nearly 400k in audience this week and is on pace to gain close to the 800k in total audience it gained last week. Its moved up to #45 on the MB rolling chart and with three songs going recurrent, Clare's song looks to be good to land at worst #42 this week -- with a top 40 placement in shouting distance. This song only had around 1.6 million and doing much of anything three weeks ago. How greatly one station can affect a song like this and its chart climb.
