Because she's an icon with record breaking achievements in music, actively touring sold out dates across the country and currently has a single out, Say Less , and an album on the way. Why wouldn't she be there? She has just as much, if not more of a right to be there than some of the turds I saw in the audience.

This single went to waste. On to the next one, I suppose.

Her singles will keep going to waste as long as she's independent. I know she doesn't want to sign a 360, but it just sucks how there's still so much mileage I feel left in her brand/career. She could easily score more Urban smashes. I wish she'd try to get a fair label deal because then her singles would actually be pushed to radio. "Say Less" didn't even get an adds date, and a video was shot but never released. Like it just seems pointless to be an indie act if you aren't willing to do the grunt work.

As much as she promoted Say Less like a movement, you'd think she was on a major label though. She literally hit up every major platform like she was a signed artist. Kinda sucks it went to waste like it did with no video or radio support.

Kinda sucks it went to waste like it did with no video or radio support. Agreed. She really did and still does promote "Say Less", but she needs to hop on a major and quick. Similar situation with Mya's "Ready for Whatever"..that song was made for urban radio and with a label push, I am convinced it would have gone top 25 on the format.

The difference though is Mya didn't hit up every major platform like Ashanti. She did some radio interviews but that's about it. She threw it out like she does all her singles and said eh.

Itβs kinda sad that both of them continue making records on trend with urban radio but would rather sacrifice any potential mainstream success for them by remaining totally independent because the industry has left them so jaded. Iβm all for full ownership and keeping as much of the coin as possible but since theyβre paying for everything out of pocket as it is, you would think that they would also want to make this new music as profitable as possible.

Exactly! You gotta spend money to earn it. Also, the radio interviews that Ashanti did were basically useless. You're doing radio interviews without actually pushing a song to radio .

Ashanti Just Proved That Nelly Was The Cause Of Their Breakup With One Wordβ¦
Literally.
Published Yesterday As of late, Murder Inc.βs R&B solo singer Ashanti is steering clear of any talk and hearsay regarding her former rap beau Nelly, their breakup after 10 years, and his recent sexual assault allegations. That changed when a fan at her concert threw out some choice words for the St. Louis rapper, and Ashanti hit back with just one that might shed more light on their 2012 breakup. The βSay Lessβ singer took to the stage for an acapella performance of her more soulful records. Beforehand, she takes a moment with her fans to talk about the effects of disloyalty. βIβve been betrayed beforeβpublicly at that,β she said. When a fan yelled out βF**k Nelly!,β Ashanti seconded his verbal middle finger to the rapper with, βWord.β The crowdgoers around him caught the shade, and cheered in support of her before she belted out a verse from her βThe Woman You Loveβ record. Itβs no wonder that the fan picked up quickly on who she was referring to either, especially after she shared those same statements with talk show host Meredith Vieira in 2015 after their breakup. We guess she wasnβt kidding about never, ever, ever getting back with him after all. www.bet.com/music/2018/02/28/ashanti-nelly-breakup.html?linkId=48649502

Cute video. Liked how she poked fun at the stripper incident.

hey, be nice. lol but for real though when did Say Less come out? It feels like it's been almost 2 years now. New Interview! She speaks on R.Kelly at the end for a bit, they worked together on "Wonderful" and "That's What We Do".

Happy 15th Anniversary Chapter II! I make sure to always have this album on my Summer playlist every year. It was the soundtrack to my Summer when it first came out. So good. A classic to me. Here's some fun flashback specials she filmed for that era.
