Surprised that Zedd is opening below 50k. Mariah's numbers are embarrassing.

Surprised that Zedd is opening below 50k. Mariah's numbers are embarrassing. I agree. Coco will not like that. Kelsea Ballerini is set to do about 90-95% of Mariah Carey's sales.

The only new material on the Mariah release is Infinity right? I'm not sure who would buy a whole album for 1 new song, except Mariah completists.

Does that mean Mariah's gonna make the top 10?! :o I'm happy if so!! This is her 389234289342984234th compilation, I'm satisfied with those numbers.
Ouch @ Brandon though. :( So close to being #2.

With those numbers, I wouldn't be surprised if Kelsea finished ahead of Mariah. She definitely is on a quick upward trend.

Have there been any big greatest hits compilations released since the switch over to SPS? Do we know how they handle TEA & SEA from the old tracks, does it depend on what album the track is actually bought or streamed from?

Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits was released in early December.
If the numbers for #1 to Infinity hold or finish in that vicinity, that probably wouldn't be enough for top 10, in either sales or SPS. For this week's chart, No. 10 sales had 21,265, and No. 10 on SPS had 34,417. Even considering it's a compilation with one new track, I thought with all the promotion, the numbers would be a bit higher, at least topping 30K.

Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits was released in early December. Do we know if sales/streams of all of her singles counted toward SPS for that, or just sales/streams of Something in The Water & Little Toy Guns?

^I imagine any track sales from the album count, and not just new tracks. I will try to find out specifics. :)

I still haven't totally figured out how the new chart works. WELP.

14887fan might be able to answer this more concretely, but I'm guessing based on the figures that Carrie only got SEA/TEA for "Something In The Water" (and negligible figures for "Little Toy Guns," which didn't have an official pre-release, just leaked audio):

How many total copies has Vessel sold? It peaked at #58, so it can't be very many. For them to open up with 6 figures now without a crossover single is pretty amazing.

I don't think so, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Sam Smith are selling more that that every week, and i doubt 50 shades of grey soundrack, Zach Brown Band, Mumford and sons or Josh Groban will sell less than that either. It's true that once you have a certain age it's more difficult to sell, but usually that affect way more to singles than to albums

The 9,000 TEA/streaming figure for Underwood's album equated to 9,000- if "Somethin' in the Water" sold notably less than 90,000 for that particular week, then the sum would include all of the album's previously released tracks' sales for that week (streaming numbers are a lot smaller than TEA).

It sold 125k its first week out, I can't imagine that several months later it was still selling/streaming the equivalent of 90k in a week.

I don't think Mariah's numbers are embarrassing. Her saving grace here is that she already has 2 well selling compilations (#1s and greatest hits). And her hardcore fan base already own TWO versions of TEOM, and E=MC^2. So what need is there to have this compilation?

Embarrassing numbers for Mariah. This is lower than Ciara! O well. Ciara's is all new music with an Urban and Rhythmic hit attached to it, while this is Mariah's umpteenth Greatest Hits with only 1 new song as an addition. Instead of saying, "How embarrassing," I want to know what figure you had dancing in your head in which this would be considered a "success."
