I'm surprised this hit the Top 50 with a heathly bullet, good for him. I kinda wish he released 'Rumors' with Tove Lo instead.

Wow, this is great! First time he's had two singles charting from the same album since his debut era. There was only one era where he didn't ???? Actually there's only one era he did. Out of three radio singles in his debut era, two made the top 50 (Whataya Want From Me and If I Had You) while For Your Entertainment went nowhere. Better Than I Know Myself made top 50, Never Close Our Eyes did, and Trespassing never went to radio. So out of three eras, this is the second time he's gotten more than one single into the top 50.

URGH kicked out of the top 50 already. Yes, it didn't last long, but it has a healthy bullet so it will go there again soon. I know it's not a reason to be worried yet, but i'll be happier if this start to chart on itunes, not being in the top 1000 is never a good thing

I would assume the reason its not selling now is because its a second single and his fans already bought it long ago, there is no new radio edit for sale (and any new sales are likely split between the clean and unclean versions making it harder for one version to chart), no itunes sale/promo/front page thumbnail, he hasn't performed it on tv in the usa at all, the video isn't playing on vh1 or music choice or mtv, its not being used in a tv commercial, and radio airplay and AI are still low...so what would be spurring sales? Outside of his hardcore fanbase no one has heard the song (airplay is growing but AI isn't high enough to really effect sales yet)...hopefully his label addresses some of the above issues and sales start to kick in

I think radio is being supportive this era, but it was very very far from being supportive in previous eras. The song is not top 50 yet, and it will be very far from being the first song that enters top 50 without charting on itunes, it's not that rare on the lower part of the chart. The song needs promo, it's as simple as that, Ghost town did its job, but it was not a big hit, and it's been a while since he had any promo. With the current audience is not a surprise it has zero impact on sales. If they want this to happen they need to put him in the map, or course maybe wait till january could be a good idea, because promo right now could end lost in the christmas mess. Of course there's other ways to promote and artist, the song is way less polarizing than GT, so it could be a good opportunity for him

I actually think they were very supportive of Ghost Town. It didn't enter the Top 100 on iTunes until towards the end of the run, which it fell in and out of quite often, rarely getting very high. Considering that Marvin Gaye barely reached the top 15 even though it was in the top 20 or Top 10 on iTunes for a lot of its run, and CHR has only recently started playing Like I'm Gonna Lose You a lot even though it has been top 10 on iTunes for weeks, I think Ghost Town was lucky to get where it got, especially when it doesn't really sound like a pop song. I hope this can do just as well, if not better

Well, Ghost Town was definitively supported by pop radio, but it's his only song that was significatively supported by radio. Whataya want from me peaked higher at the hot 100, if i had you was well received (but we have plenty of song with similar peaks at the hot 100 that peak higher at pop). The rest not so much. Of course it was not only radio's fault, his label did a really good work trashing his career. Without his devoted fanbase (as success in a good bunch of countries) he probably will be done by now on mainstream (like most of his idol fellows).
In my opinion his new label is doing a better work, anyway is failing in the USA promo and UK promo. I just don't understand the reason why he is not more successful in UK, he is exactly the kind of artist they really like.
Anyway, i think some radio promo will be good for now, and in january they need to push him to some tv performances. Itunes position (or lack of) is not a problem now, and it won't be a problem for a good while. Being his song, and his tradition, it will be a slow climb so it has plenty of time to get there. Generally itunes positions are a real problem for songs that are pushed hard on radio, they climb very fast and the sales never catch with that (or when they start to climb they are dead on radio)

Will be kind of hard to do TV in January considering he'll be starting his world tour NYE in Singapore and hitting China, Japan, Australia & New Zealand through all of January. He's kicking off 2 weeks of holiday radio concerts tonight so that's radio promo. Right now he's just got one thing for February in Dubai then March is supposed to be US stuff but nothing has been announced yet. April & May will be European & UK tour dates then end of May into June & July a bunch of QAL festival dates in UK & Europe.

He's got some time in December for a US TV performance or two, but then not til early February. I'd expect that they will do more usa radio/tv promo in february and in connection with March USA tour dates..but who knows

I finally wandered over to iTunes to purchase this morning. I didn't know this song existed until I heard it on the radio haha. I also watched the music video, such a cute concept. I didn't know the blonde girl was transgender, I remember thinking she's so hot! Now I'm thinking... She's so hot!!

I think it's just a remix with a misleading title. If they were going to actually push a remix to pop radio we probably would have heard it before the adds date.
