I can see a lead single for her fourth album to be released late spring/early summer. I remember seeing tweets a few months ago that she was in the studio recording. It's just a matter of how long it takes her to complete an album.
I also remember her saying that it only took her a few months to write and record Prism, so it doesn't seem to take too long for her to create an album. I would prefer her to take her time with her next album so she can produce many quality songs. Prism definitely had some great moments but there were a handful of songs that lacked quality.

I really wished she shot a video for Ghost, that could have been a great closing for Prism. Its easily my favorite from Prism.

I'm always happy at the thought of new Katy music. I bet she does a lot more concert stuff for Hillary into the November 2016 election.

Not gonna lie, at this point her star power is undeniable. It kind of just hit me how big she is.

She's undeniably the #1 female artist in the world right now. I mean this is the third most powerful/highest paid list she's been on this year? Only Queen.

It's kinda difficult to ordain her #1 on the internet when 25 is going to outsell Prism' total in its first week and Taylor's success this year, BUT she is undeniably a massive name and one of THE biggest in the world. Additionally, her willingness to travel overseas has really helped expand her brand. I remember a review of TD (the album) that slammed her for being obvious that she's working and blatantly letting people see her sweat on record, but she's really flipped that criticism into a positive. It's never much noted here because it's an American board and regardless of the various backgrounds of the posters most opinions and discussions are from an American perspective, but she really made it her point to take her schtick literally as far across the world as she could. I can't see Adele agreeing to something like that, as well as acts that regularly sell out arenas.
I'd say that the fact that she's taken virtually this entire year off as far as new material and visibility is concerned aside from the SB, and that her star power hasn't diminished is proof of that. That arguably the biggest name of the past year has thrown barbs at her, but that there was no real discussion or worry about its actual effect on her is an additional point to her solidification. By comparison, imagine if the OOTB era had been ended after TOY didn't do that well and she had waited until Spring/Summer 2011 for the follow up. Big big difference.

Continuing to go on and release "Waking Up In Vegas" was such an amazing move by her and her label. If they had not done that, there's a possibility her career would have been over right there.

It was that benefit thing for the David Lynch foundation that Sting did too I think.

I'd give the edge to Taylor Swift as far as "top dog" goes, but Katy can-- and probably will-- outlast her. ADELE's sales are phenomenal, but something about her brand seems like she's designed not to be top dog while somehow having all the credentials necessary. Not that that has anything to do with Katy neccessarily, but regardless of where Katy is sitting relative to these two, the fact that she's top three in such a stupidly competative market right now is still huge. Probably more for her than anyone considering how readily she was, and still is, dismissed.

OK, I'm being patient, but where the FUCK is the christmas song! I admit I wouldn't start listening to it until next friday (Nov. 20) but I want an announcement. Plus the spectre of Adele is real - Katy needs to get it out before 25 is released or it will eat into the song's shelf life (most stations switch to Xmas music either the week before Xgiving or the day after).

I can't imagine it's not going to get an additional push beyond the ad. I feel like the ad is just part of the plan to promote it. That said, I expect we'll get the ad online before the 23rd right? If not, that week is OK to release wrt Xmas timing, but bad because of Adele. Regardless, I want to hear it!

That sounds like Birthday with worse lyrics. Hmm.

It sounds like a combo of Birthday and Walking On Air, if we're using her past material as references. It also doesn't sound very good imo, but obvs snippet/not full/wait/etc. Her singing reminds me a bit of the bridge of Hummingbird Heartbeat (the 'like a symphony' part specifically).

Here's a much longer snippet recorded at a H&M store. If the stores already have the song, it's only a matter of time before the whole song leaks.

I'm really underwhelmed. I thought it would be better than Underneath the Tree (and One More Sleep, for that matter) but it's not grabbing me at all. Maybe in HQ it'll be better....
