I don't even buy the age thing to be an issue for her. This. Ageism only exists if people know the artist is old. I don't think people associate P!nk with being old like they do with someone like Madonna. For references, on iTunes, "Just Give Me a Reason" is #409, and "Try" is #1160. I don't have access to any gold charts, but over on pop, using the leaders and starters sections on AllAccess, we have this: Just Give Me a Reason 48 44 4 0.236 Raise Your Glass 17 12 5 0.091 Blow Me (One Last Kiss) 16 12 4 0.072 U + Ur Hand 13 11 2 0.062 There You Go 8 0 8 0.052 Who Knew 2 0 2 0.017 Trouble 2 0 2 0.008 Most Girls 2 0 2 0.006 Stupid Girls 2 0 2 0.006 Try 2 0 2 0.004 I can't find data for "Please Don't Leave Me" and "Funhouse" for some reason. Of course this isn't her exact airplay data, but it's the best I can get without a Mediabase password. I think it's very telling that most of her recurrent play is from her more recent hits, rather than singles released early on in her career. It's also extremely apparent she will still have more mega hits, kind of lol'ed at the question because I think she clearly has at least 2-3 more "big" albums ahead.

Yeah, more than likely the first single from her next album.

Yes. Pink is one of those rare female artists I can see continuing her mainstream success well into her 40's. She's played her career fantastically ever since her comeback a decade ago and she has such a wide variety of fans now. She can really hit the young and older demos very seamlessly.

She might, and if she does we already know what it will sound like. The shade you just threw at my homegirl P!nk. Why does actual singing bother you so much

Why does actual singing bother you so much I agree with SPRΞΞ that her sound has become terribly predicable. Her last two albums sound like one big project. It's stale and she needs to shake it up some. Her best work still remains I'm Not Dead. While You + Me was different for her I miss her edgier music from her early days. Would love a pop/soul song similar to "Catch Me While I'm Sleeping". Masterpiece!

I don't see why P!nk wouldn't have another big hit, especially a hit lead single. Radio laps up most of the singles she puts out, and she's in a good place in her career. I think her next 1-2 eras will continue to be successful.

I love everything about her. Her voice, her attitude, her spirit. I love R&B Pink, like i love " Like A Pill" Pink! I love her performances most of all because she always brings it. I love her authenticity.

Yes, because Sia is going to write a killer duet that Greg Kurstin will send to P!nk and Kelly which will be a worldwide hit and all will be well in the world.

I think P!nk will have a few more huge hits. I've been a fan of hers since she came out and you know she's never been as well-liked as Katy Perry, maybe because she's more of the tomboy but she does what she wants and isn't afraid and her concerts esp her Truth About Love tour was simply one if the best concerts I've ever attended. Don't beat her down because of her age. She certainly doesn't 'act' her age and she hasn't tamed much so don't doubt her.

I love her authenticity. I'm the same. She's real, her attitude, personality and most of her fans can relate to her. She's confident without being cocky and doesn't come across like she's better than others.

Don't beat her down because of her age. She certainly doesn't 'act' her age and she hasn't tamed much so don't doubt her. It's interesting you say this; as I was reading through the thread it dawned on me that P!nk's career is unique for a few reasons, but one that I think no one has really noticed is that her uptempo songs have all lyrically 'aged' well with her. There will always be the shade that her songs sound the same, but I don't think P!nk could release something that is lyrically like 'Get the Party Started' or 'Stupid Girls' now and get away with it. However, 'So What' feel a tad more mature than GTPS, and 'Raise Your Glass' feels a step above SW. Not that any of these are epic lyrical masterpieces, but there's just this subtle undercurrent of 'ok, this is what a party song from a late-20-something (SW) or 30-something (RYG) year old would actually sound like if written by someone in her late 20s/30s' - it's less let's get the party started and more the party already got started but we still have enough energy to show up and keep it going and not give a *bleep* what you have to say about it. Still, that is in such a way that a younger 20-something could still feel it. I think any song, to be a hit, needs its lyrics to be both relatable and believable from the person singing it. Those are both hard things to master, but especially at the same time. That's the real reason why ageism kicks in - at some point you either become a Mariah (singing believably, but not necessarily anything that younger audiences can relate to) or a Madonna (aiming for what you think is relatable, but looking absurd because it just doesn't feel believable from you anymore). Somehow P!nk has managed to master this balance quite well over her entire career. Of course, in a few years a RYG level song will also not feel believable from P!nk - I don't even think I'd fully buy it from her now - and there does tend to be a tendency to let older men get away with certain topics for longer than their similarly aged female counterparts. But P!nk can always just kick it up a notch and still make it work, or just avoid partying lyrics altogether and go in a direction like 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)'. It's kind of how Cher was able to pull of the aptly titled 'Believe' - that's something you can actually imagine an older person with a lot of life experience saying to someone, but it was also something plenty of young people going through a breakup might say, and it just happened to be insanely catchy. If any singer out today has the potential to pull a Cher, I think P!nk's the most likely one. Assuming she wants it, of course. P!nk's ballads and midtempos have always struck the relatable/believable balance, but I think that's easier to do with ballads anyway. The main key there is just to make sure the lyrics have at least a bit of meat to them, rather than being hollow platitudes that only tap into one overly broad emotion for the sake of reaching a large audience.

I think Pink has another megahit song in her or 5. As long as she's willing to do promote her music and she has good material, I think she's got maybe a decade left before she does the Vegas thing.
