Her best album by a mile. I mean, tracks 9-12 could've been left out and I wouldn't have been mad, but even with those it's easily her most consistent. What the f**k kind of Amy Winehouse jam is 'Mr. Hughs'? At first I was kinda shocked these were the standouts for you (or anyone), but breezing back through them I could hear any one of these songs on Kelly's last album, lmao. Personally, the singles-- God, 'Confident' grew on me-- 'Stone Cold', 'Waitin for You' (queen of R&B, when will Mary?), and 'Mr. Hughs' make the album. Nothing else touches those. But...Wildfire and Father are two of the best songs. LOL @ "Mr. Hughs" but Meghan Trainor wrote it and that's exactly what I am hearing. Amy would never be so basic.

I went into this album thinking I would hate it. The snippets she was releasing didn't do an iota of shit for me. After listening once, I am pleasantly surprised. I'll have to listen to it a few more times to have it really sink in for me. "Father" was predictable but still slayed me. "Mr. Hughes" did give me that Amy/Meaghan vibe.
I'm still waiting for another "My Love Is Like A Star" though.

It's just a current pop album really, nothing more and nothing less.
However - I have to say I wasn't quite aware she could sing like she does on Father... that ending took me by surprise.

while I love the song (Stone Cold), that performance came across as trying too hard to make a moment. I wish she had restrained all the rocking back and forth and just straight up sang like in the live studio version she posted before the album came out.

Damn...I didn't even know she was on SNL. I will have to watch the videos. Wildfire is so sexy and Lionheart's battering ram vocals shred my soul.

Who is she trying to sound like in "Stone Cold", though? Sia? Adele?
Her vocals have been great during the past performances of "Cool For The Summer". However, this time on SNL I've got an almost try too hard-à la Aguilera feeling here. I don't know. I'm yet to listen to her album in full.

I get Gaga on "For You". She's a vocal force of nature, singing like I always knew she could and with so much feeling too. She's been through a lot, it's not just vocals on 100, it's emotion. Lionheart is just IT to me.

I thought she was great during her first performance and Confidence is really good live. She totally pulled that one off.
The second performance was a little much. Her voice seemed to be cracking and giving out on her so she kept pushing harder and harder. It's not that she sounded bad, she just sounded a little shaky.
But, yes, I am impressed with her signing and didn't know she had that in her. I don't love some of the tones of her voice, but she can sing for sure.

Stan now. Those SNL performances. OMG What did I witness?! She has SO much power. I do worry about her voice being able to maintain if she keeps singing like that but...such raw talent, especially on Stone Cold. Wow.

I thoroughly enjoyed Demi's album. Girl can sing, her vocals are just.. amazing. There are a few songs that I felt could be left out like "Yes" and "Stars". I didn't care for them as much as others.
On another note, "Lionheart" blew me away. Damn, that is such a good track!

Demi performed at a gay bar in NYC called The Monster. The video is slightly NSFW. The video has gone viral on FB due to how bootleg and messy the performance was.

Jesus Christ, that performance. That was a mess. I don't think she was mentally prepared for that, which just makes it awkward, but funny as hell. Also, that dude was sporting a hecka boner. "Confident" is up to #15 on iTunes now, though, so... Yay!

I want "Old Ways" and "Wildfire" as singles. "Wildfire" would be unlikely/unexpected. "Kingdom Come" is a bit overdone. "Stars" is a lowkey bop.

Iggy sounds like she's stuffed up on her verse. I think it would be a good single if only there was a different rapper or bridge there. Old Ways is good too. Beyond that, do you really see Hollywood shelling out past a 4th?
Lionheart is the real big surprise here for me, but overall I'm glad this album finds her somewhat moving away from the neo-Celine Dion vibe I've been getting from her. Mr. Hughes doesn't work for me, but that aside there's no outright failures. Even the lesser spots like Yes and the title track are listenable. Count me as impressed after not really liking the singles that much as the past ones. It's no great landmark or anything, but it's a competent piece of work, which is definitely a step up.

The performance wasn't that bad considering the circumstances tbh. Also OMG @ that dancer.
