Demi Lovato will have a new single out late summer and an album this fall through a new partnership with Safehouse Records, a joint venture between David McIntyre and Island's David Massey. The label's only other client is Nick Jonas; he and Lovato are also cofounders. (via HITS)

This is the same kind of deal Zendaya signed. I wonder how it will all work out.

Nice. I enjoyed Demi's last two albums.

Unbroken > Demi. Please bring back some of that Urban Pop flair, Demetria!

I'm always here and ready for new music by Demi. She knows how to make hits, even when radio doesn't support them.

I pray for the day she realizes Here We Go Again was her best album and goes back to that sound.

Unbroken > Demi. Please bring back some of that Urban Pop flair, Demetria! Absolutely not. I maintain the "urban" songs on Unbroken were the worst songs she's ever released. They were very uninspired and a bit disingenuous. Demi was the best album of her career. She should continue with that sound; it works so well for her. Obviously she should be evolving with her sound too, but urban-styled knockoff tracks are not the way to go. On another note, her label deal is really interesting. That's a cool way for her to transition out of HR and onto a better major label that will actually be in tune with her now-older fans.

I feel she skews more towards generic when she goes for the straightforward Pop/Rock sound like she did on Demi vs. experimenting with different shades of her Pop sound as she did on Unbroken. Regardless, I'm excited to see what she does with her next album and if this new deal pushes her singing career to a new height.

They were throwaway and generic R&B tracks that no one would ever look at as single-material. Timbaland gave her some real bad leftovers.

Let's be real. I just happened to like the urban flavored records she did but even the Pop tracks on Unbroken seemed more interesting than the formula she followed on Demi. This is all subjective anyway but regardless, I hope this next album is her best album yet and the one to be her "breakthrough". She's got the chops to be a serious Pop star.

'Heart Attack' was one of the best songs of the last few years, so if she gives us any more material like that, I'll be happy.

I like when Demi experiments with true Urban sounds.
The problem with those Unbroken tracks weren't the genre, it was the quality. All I'm hearing from you, say Selena, is that generic pop > generic urban.
A lot of Demi and Unbroken were generic pop.
But, I'm looking forward. Her voice was rough for the most part of the past 2 years, but she's been sounding great in her most recent shows.

Demi is amazing!!! I loved Demi more than Unbroken, but both are really strong imo, is she amazingly innovative? No. But she makes some amazing bops for my iTunes!
Heart Attack is one of the best songs released in recent pop memory IMO.

Only good songs on Demi are Without The Love, In Case and Two Pieces. I want more songs like Everytime You Lie and In Real Life.

Just butting in to say that "All Night Long" still gives me life and I don't care what anyone says. That song was hot to me.
No real expectations or wish list from me, just want great records.

'All Night Long' was great, but that was it. If she's going urban again then she needs some solid material; but I wouldn't complain if we got another DEMI.
On another note, I thought she got out from under the Hollywood umbrella? Blah.

I'm thinking every song is going to sell less with Apple Music than they would have before. Doesn't mean songs can't go to number 1 anymore. I'm talking sales, as in numbers. I was happy to see this at #1!! It's one of her best singles!
