Solid video considering it looked like they didn't have a big budget for it. I really enjoyed the scenes of her having the guy tied to the bed with a cowboy hat on while pouring wine, especially during the line "me and Johnny Cash and a bottle of wine," lol. Would've liked a little more shots of her singing the song though and some of the gas station scenes were rather awkwardly shot.

In the minority here, but I'm not really feeling this as much as the others. IMO, this sounds like Marina Diamandis (of Marina and the Diamonds) on a Kelsea Ballerini/Sam Hunt track and I think it's a bit disjointed.
I would have to re-listen to this again, but it's no "I Got the Boy", "Better Than You Left Me" or "Dime Store Cowgirl" for me.
This isn't a bad song, but I don't think it's excellent either.

I absolutely love this song but it will most certainly not be doing anything on the mainstream charts as "Me And Johnny Cash" has been added to just 15 monitored MB stations and its greatest spin contributor is WIRK in West Palm, with just 14 total spins over the past seven days. It will take a lot more than that to chart, so if it ever wants to, it'll be a long process.
"Me And Johnny Cash" is making its way on the Music Row Chart as Rainey is at #71 there currently, being reported on 31 stations.

This is one of the countriest songs released this year and these are the comparisons you make? I'm really confused why this would draw any of those comparisons.

And I already said it's an unpopular opinion. It's more of the vocals that get me (another unpopular opinion). Also, if we're talking on the 'country' scale, it's definitely more country than FGL/Luke Bryan (TMKON and KTDU)/Michael Ray/Thomas Rhett/Chase Rice/Cole Swindell/Real Life etc. We'll see if this grows on me.

Alright, on second listen this was better, and I take back what I said earlier that it sounds like Kelsea/Sam, though I still find the production a bit poppy (or dancey). It's safe to say that this will probably be a grower.

Usually I'm numb to ads in Aircheck or Billboard by now but I did catch "Me And Johnny Cash" was added by KKBQ in Houston this week...that's a pretty big add. If Rainey's song can get at least 18-20 spins a week from them, that would mean she would get roughly 300k-400k in audience from that station alone and that could get it to chart.
"Me And Johnny Cash" has been spun 9 times on KKBQ over the past seven days (its first week).

I was beginning to think that this song was completely DOA and a lost cause for ever getting any decent airplay, but this has me at least a little more hopeful now. I'd love for this to at least manage to chart even if it just spent a couple weeks in the low 50s or something, it'd be better than nothing.

I have actually heard this song quite a bit in Seattle. I am surprised it has not charted!

This at least enters the Indicator chart at #59 this week.

Well, I am officially starting to love this song. It has been a grower for sure, but now the more I listen to it the more I love it! Sassy songs by female artists are usually some of my favorite songs :) Time to check out her EP!
It may or may not help that Rainey is absolutely GORGEOUS too...
