Nice to see Atlantic isn't giving up on her! Dollhouse was one of my favorites from last year.

I could see her developing a bit of a cult following among the hot topic crowd. I'm not sure they can successfully market her to a broad audience, but I think there's definitely a niche for her to fill.

The album was scheduled for August 7th but Amazon took the pre-order option for it down. There's also a new single out on iTunes.

The constantly moving dates don't bode well for Atlantic putting any effort behind her, which is unfortunate

I think that she could turn into a sort of pop anomaly like Marina if she is marketed right. She has the voice, interesting visuals and themes, and clever lyrics. We just have to see if the rest of the album is as good as the singles.

I'm surprised how well her preorders have held up on iTunes. She won't move a ton of units but I think she'll post a respectable total compared to other Voice alums

It's definitely a "concept album" in all the sense of the phrase. I've had the album for a few weeks now. I adore it. Such a twisted but thoughtful story about our culture. Her vivid songwriting is just I incredible.

I will say I have loved every pre-release track so far sans Carousel although I do like that one; just don't love it as much as the others. Sippy Cup has been stuck on repeat.

Decided to check her out remembered her from the voice. Really liked the material. She really has a lot of potential. Thematically it's very very uniform which sometimes works and sometimes is very one dimensional. I really hope this does well I think I'm gonna pre order it. Most exciting thing to come out of the voice for me (although I loved dia frampton as well)

Cry Baby Dollhouse Sippy Cup Alphabet Boy Soap Pity Party Milk and Cookies Mrs. Potato Head Mad Hatter CakeThis may emerge as one of my favorite albums of the year for any genre. I love how strong and vivid her songwriting is while the melodies and production are just as strong and her voice isn't buried in the mix. She clearly has a strong sense of who she is at such a young age so I'm excited to see how she grows and what direction she takes with her music in the future. I really hope Atlantic actually puts some promo behind it.

Without the 5SOS preorder she'd be #3. I'm pretty shocked people were actually checking for. She was on the voice what 3 years ago?
I love this. Yes it's very conceptual and the songs are very uniform, but not at all in a way that gets boring. Hopefully people get what she's doing, but it's ballsy for the label to let her go full on with the baby doll/child thing on the more sexual songs. I'm glad they did
Play Date, Mrs. Potato Head, and Training Wheels are my favorites for the moments.

I also love how the album packaging is an actual storybook; so clever and creative. I read an article saying she pressured Atlantic to make it the standard packaging, not just limited edition, and they agreed to press the first 15,000 copies of the album that way (after she agreed to pay the extra cost, of course).
Sadly, HITS didn't list a projection for her sales next week so it appears she's gonna debut with under 20k but I'm cautiously optimstic she might be a dark horse that pulls ahead a bit in the next few days.

I LOVE that they put the storybook on Spotify digitally too. My biggest gripe with streaming is the lack of album artwork. Id love to see the day where full liner notes are available on streaming services but at least the storybook is a start

What is this Lorde/Lana combo?? Listening to clips. I dig it. Might buy it, especially if the physical has nice packaging, as y'all mentioned.

This album is TERRIFIC. Wow! So perfectly written, produced, packaged. Very impressed with this girl. She doesn't even mention The Voice in her thank yous at all. #oop. I want her to come perform on the show but not sure if there is bad blood.

I want her to come perform on the show but not sure if there is bad blood. I agree it's a great album. In an interview she was asked if she's going to come back to perform for The Voice. She said "No, she doesn't plan to & she doesn't watch The Voice. I don't think there's bad blood. I just think she's busy & while a performance on The Voice will give her some more buzz/sales I think she wants to do her music, promo, etc. her way.
