This makes me SO happy. This has been my favorite song since her EP was released. I would like to think that this will breakthrough, but I don't know if it will. Maybe it has a better chance at the moment with the current spotlight being put on country radio? One can hope.

I was wondering why this song was selling so well on iTunes. This is a great song, and I hope it can catch on kind of like "Girl Crush" did. The vocals are outstanding, and it's refreshing to hear something so stripped down and underproduced. Bobby Bones has really helped expose/propell some great songs so far (Girl Crush, Buy Me A Boat, etc.), so I hope this can continue the trend.

I usually try not to comment on songs, but this left me speechless! This is so intimate and true, love the contained instrumentation and expressive vocals. Yet another ray of hope for mainstream country music. :)

I thought My Mistake had hit written all over it, but I was wrong. Good to see that Sony isn't insta-dropping her after 1 single like they did the last 47 artists they signed.

Does anyone know who Cam is? Apart from www.camcountry.com and her Twitter, we really don't know too much about her whether Cam is an acronym of her name or what she has done before her big break. She doesn't have a Facebook or a Wikipedia article either.

Can't remember the last time when the first time a heard a song I immediately went to iTunes and downloaded. Guess I'm just a sucker for beautiful songs.

This is a great song, lyrically, musically, and vocally, but I just can't imagine this doing well at radio. I am incredibly bummed that "My Mistake" did not turn into a hit, though I realize the difficult chart climate for new artists in which it was released has most of the blame for this not taking off. I think at a more opportune time, "My Mistake" would've been able to work its way up the chart, but there was just too much competition. But that one sounded like a hit to me, while I don't get that feeling about this one. If this is a hit somehow, it'll be a long shot "Girl Crush"-type situation (minus the pull of LBT being a big act with name recognition and an established fanbase and industry clout). Hoping for the best though of course as I enjoyed Cam's debut EP and I'm always here for more female acts on the radio, so I am absolutely rooting for her and "Burning House." I don't think putting this out right away would be for the best, so I do hope they wait a little while until the chart gets a little less crowded perhaps.

Cam will be the new "On The Verge" artist with this song according to Bobby Bones!

Cam will be the new "On The Verge" artist with this song according to Bobby Bones! Wow, another great choice by On The Verge. That means this will at least make it the 20's alone, and it's already guaranteed some exposure. I really hope that allows this one to take off!

Cam will be the new "On The Verge" artist with this song according to Bobby Bones! Great artist, great song, but very peculiar choice. That means the song will be rushed into medium rotation in the middle of the summer - not exactly the ideal time of year for this to take off. I thought Cam had a real chance to be OTV with "My Mistake", but choosing this one is really surprising. It's such beautiful song though, so hopefully the song will snowball with OTV exposure and become the hit it deserves to be. Her EP was really, really strong (I also loved Half Broke Heart), so I really want her to be the next breakout female artist.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. Very much deserved indeed. Now radio, let's get this one into the top 10 at the very least.

Cam will be the new "On The Verge" artist with this song according to Bobby Bones! Okay, now we're getting somewhere. I was wondering about the next OTV artist last night and knew there were only a handful of options, so I secretly hoped it would be this song but I didn't want to jinx it, lol. After a putrid choice with "Kiss You In The Morning", the folks at iHeartMedia hit a home run with "Buy Me A Boat' and now finally do something I've been clamoring for since this program (which I still think shouldn't exist) came to be. A promising new female artist, with a wonderfully written song, with great lyrics, instrumentation, and production that is downright refreshing for 2015 country radio. It is really ironic though that Cam's debut single "My Mistake" wasn't the one chosen, even though her timing would have lined up fairly well when they instead picked "Kiss You In The Morning." Burning House" is great, but "My Mistake" is much more radio-friendly. The immediate sales that this song ushered in is certainly a factoring contributor, which it should be IMO, and not a "gut feel" from iHeartMedia programers, which is the reason we had some poor choices with this program ("Take It On Back", "Kiss You In The Morning"). It's also ironic that Bobby Bones (who has a show I find utterly boring) is the reason for the last two great OTV selections, lol. Good for Cam. :)

Omg, wow at this being chosen for OTV!! What a pleasant surprise! Finally another female selection! I actually think this will be a very wise decision for them to thrust this up the charts for a lot of reasons, one being that she'd obviously benefit greatly, but another being that if this does get into higher rotations during the summer as kw9461 pointed out, I actually think that could help it a lot because I can see "Burning House" possibly tapping into the same audience that has been all over "Girl Crush" for months.

Great artwork. She was at the Kacey party (as were Brothers Osborne). I'm stoked a great song like this was chosen for the next OTV song (and it's now 2 in a row championed by Bobby Bones first before his company picks it later).
The skeptic in me thinks maybe this was picked as a response to Lettuce/TomatoGate...

This song's selection for On the Verge is one of two country radio developments that have truly thrilled me this year. The other was the number of first week adds for Mickey Guyton's "Better Than You Left Me," though, and considering that song's current chart state (and how I wouldn't characterize "Burning House" as radio-friendly under any circumstances, much less an era of country radio dominated by males and beat-driven uptempos), I'll try to temper my enthusiasm. But I really am way more excited about Cam based on her music than I ever would have expected based on her background and collaborators. To continue a comparison I first made in the "My Mistake" thread, she writes with a folky eloquence that would be The Band Perry's signature if they weren't so intent on becoming arena rockers. I do still hear phrasing similarities between Cam and early Band Perry-era Kimberly Perry. But Kimberly's voice is husky where Cam's vocal tone is bright, and that lends itself to different interpretive styles. And if given a place at country radio, Cam would bring something distinctive as a songwriter and a singer. To me, that makes her essential. To country radio? We'll see. In any event, "Burning House" is as evocative and heart-breakingly sung a song as I've heard in a while. The guilt and regret hang heavy in this song, but it's so gorgeous and so completely believable.

I am 100% all in for Cam. I really hope this can do something that My Mistake sadly wasn't able to do.

Just listened to this and wow. It's incredible. I've been hearing about Cam quite a bit lately but never took the time to listen to her music until tonight. After hearing this I went to Spotify to check out her EP. So, so good. I'm really surprised - based on the EP's artwork I'd just assumed she was yet another pop/country singer, but now I am really excited about her. Lesson learned: don't judge an artist by their album/EP cover.

Wasn't a fan of "My Mistake" (wasn't awful, but it was just kinda there for me), but this is fantastic and I'm absolutely thrilled it was picked for OTV. I'm not sure if it will be huge (top 20 seems likely though, if only due to OTV), but I think it'll be a big digital seller.

I'm assuming the full effect will be by July 6th, but "Burning House" got 7 adds, with 5 being iHeartMedia stations. So this should start seeing its audience increase shortly.

Yeah, this song is great. Phenomenal. I've had it on repeat all evening. Very haunting - beautifully sung, beautifully arranged...very well-written. It's songs like this that have been missing from country radio for far too long.
I'm almost wondering if iHeartMedia is going to turn to Bobby Bones from here on out to decide their OTV selections. Like him or not, he's got a lot of pull, and a big presence on the radio and online. If an unproven song/artist gets a big reaction from just a couple spins on the Bobby Bones Show, well, that right there might be a big enough indicator to make iHeartMedia think that perhaps they need to get that song into somewhat regular rotation...hence why they picked a more unconventional choice like "Burning House" (because Bobby brought widespread attention to it first). Perhaps they'll be more likely to select other unconventional releases in the future rather than a [mostly] inoffensive and more radio-friendly and boring tune like "Kiss You In The Morning".

Agree on all points, including Bobby Bones. I really dislike his radio program, but he's really come through with Chris Janson and Cam - for that I'm grateful. I'm currently on repeat #6 of "Burning House." I literally can't stop listening to it.

The thing that irks me is that a song this good shouldn't have to rely on OTV to be a big hit. Glad it was chosen...but it shouldn't have to be chosen to be a hit.
