In Race for Number One, Lean On on Top

The Top 10:

In week 2 of the Brianc2008 Top 50, Lean On by DJ Snake featuring Diplo and MO ends up on top for the second week in a row. It's the first number ones for all three artists. If this had been running in the past, DJ Snake could have landed in the top 5 for Turn Down for What and MO might have had a top 20 with her collaboration with Iggy Azaela called Beg For It.

Rumbling in the distance is Taylor Swift. Her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar called Bad Blood rises 3-2 on the countdown. With not much distance between the two songs, might Swift/Lamar hit number one next week? Stay tuned.

Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon reaches a new peak as well going from 4-3. Their first hit places them in the top 3 for the first time. Perhaps, they can continue to climb the charts.

Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars slides 2-4 this week. Timing could be blamed for the inability of the retro tune to jump to number 1. If the chart had started in January, they probably would have had multiple weeks on top.

The big jump in the top 5 this week comes from Aussie Jarryd James as Do You Remember surges 9-5. The minimalist song benefited from being placed as Pulse's Featured Track of the Week. This should be interesting to see if this could end up at number one.

George Ezra's Budapest slides from 5-6 this week as the young man with Bristol with the big voice could not hold back James. Will this song climb back up or has it already peaked at 5? Stay tuned.

Rachel Platten's Fight Song slips from 6-7 due to the fast rising Remember. The artist who's had her songs in Pretty Little Liars and Jane By Design can probably resume climbing next week.

Renegades by X Ambassadors holds steady at 8 this week. After watching the video, I have less of an excuse to not get out there and exercise.

Fall Out Boy's Uma Thurman climbs from 10-9 this week as the American pop/rock band continues to prove resilient. The video which shows what happens to a contest winner serving a "typical" day with the band is fun as well.

Bright by the sibling band Echosmith completes the top 10 this week, climbing from 11-10. Is there room for a softer sound with the summer breezes? Stay tuned.

In Other Chart News:

Love Me Like You Do slid from 7-12 and dropped out of the top 10 this week. Other notables in the top 20 include OMI's Cheerleader climbing from 13-11, David Guetta's Hey Mama soaring from 15-13, and the twin surges of Maroon 5's This Summer from 23-17 and Tech N9ne's Hood Go Crazy from 24-18.

Finally, the hotshot debut of the week goes to Halestorm with Amen debuting at 34.  The video is a fun one with workers turning to rock to release after hard days at work.  It tops 5 other debuts.

Bad Blood Leans on Top Spot

The remix of Bad Blood with Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar climbs 2-1 and takes the top spot in week three of this countdown.  The video which features numerous celebs and presumably an expensive budget doesn't hurt, although it remains how many weeks this song can hold Number 1.

Lean On slides 1-2.  The song which features Major Lazer, Diplo, and MO led the first two weeks of the chart and finally gave way to the number of challengers facing it.  They will be remembered for their place in history.

Jarryd James's Do You Remember surges 5-3 and emerges as another potential challenger for the crown.  This is the Aussie's first hit.

Another newcomer from Bristol, England rises 6-4 as George Ezra's Budapest reaches a new high on its third week.  Meanwhile, his followup song Blame It on Me percolates in the Bubbling Under section of the countdown.

Rounding up the top 5 is Walk the Moon as Shut Up and Dance descends 3-5.  Their followup Different Colors debuts in the Bubbling Under section.

Rachel Platten's Fight Song jumps 7-6 and reclaims its peak position in its third week.  Song marks the first real hit of Platten's career.

Renegades by X Ambassadors finds a new peak as the song climbs 8-7.  The song has held in the top 10 for all 3 weeks.

Uptown Funk plunges 4-8 in week 3 on the chart.  The Mark Ronson song with Bruno Mars continues its descent from number 2 in the opening chart week.

Fall Out Boy holds at number 9 for the second consecutive week with Uma Thurman.  The song combines the Munster's theme with an ode to Thurman from Pulp Fiction.

And finally, OMI's Cheerleader rises 11-10 to land the Jamaican born singer in the top 10 for the first time.  His ode to a girl who's always there when he needs her adds trumpets for a nice summery mix.

Outside the top 10, David Guetta's Hey Mama rises from 13-11 and Tech N9ne's Hood Go Crazy surges from 18-14.  Love Me Like You Do from Ellie Goulding sinks from 12-17.  And the top debut of the week belongs to Lawson with their song Roads.  Roads beat four other debuting songs.


The regular chart will appear tomorrow and should prove to be an interesting read.

Bad Blood on Top for Swift and Lamar

Inside Brianc2008's Chart for 7/6-7/12

Bad Blood by Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar takes the top spot this week remaining at 1 on the chart's fourth week.  But with competition from hungry challengers ahead, their reign could be cut short at 2 weeks.

The list of challengers is led by Aussie Jarryd James as his Do You Remember climbs 3-2.  He's climbed quickly from 9th place where the chart began and is one spot away from claiming the top spot. 

Also reaching a new peak is Bristol, England's booming voice George Ezra. His quiet song Budapest rises 4-3 and it's possible he's heading for new highs as well.

One song that isn't rising is Major Lazer's Lean On.  The song that features DJ Snake's beats and MO's singing slides 2-4 in its fourth week.

Rachel Platten is on the verge of being a contender for the top spot herself as Fight Song bounds 6-5 in its fourth week on the chart.  Will it settle for being in the top 5 or will it stay hungry for more?

Renegades by X Ambassadors reaches a new high as well as it climbs 7-6 in week 4.  Much like Platten, Ambassadors will probably have to wait a couple of weeks to battle it out for the top.

Shut Up and Dance by the lunar named band Walk the Moon declines 5-7 and appears on its way out of the top 10.  It peaked several weeks ago at number 3.

Uma Thurman by pop rock band Fall Out Boy boogies 9-8 to a new high point for the American band.  It remains to be seen if they can join the other climbers in a scrum for the top spot.

OMI (pronounced Oh-Mee) finds his summer jam Cheerleader rising 10-9 as the Jamaican singer looks for success amidst the rising heat.  Will Cheerleader find enough fans for the top 5, or even the top spot?  We'll see.

Completing the top 10 is Hey Mama by David Guetta with Nicki Minaj and Bebe Rexha singing and Afrojack providing the beats.  The song climbs 11-10 in week 4.

The one song dropping out of the top 10 in week 4 is Mark Ronson's Uptown Funk with Bruno Mars singing.  It declines 8-13.

Further in the countdown, significant moves include TechN9ne's Hood Go Crazy with BOB and 2Chainz rising 14-11, Calvin Harris's Pray to God with Haim climbing 18-16, The Weeknd's Can't Feel My Face surging 23-18 and Kendrick Lamar's King Kunta ascending 22-20.

This week's hotshot debut is Loving You Easy by the Zac Brown Band debuting at number 36.  But another debut is hot on its heels.

• For the third time in four weeks, a song has been knocked out by a late entry.  In week 1, Frankie Ballard's Young and Crazy was bumped for Can't Feel My Face.  In Week 2, it was Years and Years's King which fell to Halestorm's Amen.  And this week, Annie Lennox's I Put a Spell On You gets left out in favor of Janet Jackson's No Sleeep.
• The battle for the top 10 is fierce. In addition to the songs already there, Tech N9ne's Hood Go Crazy and Andy Grammer's Honey I'm Good are on the verge of making the top 10. Further back, Calvin Harris's Pray to God and The Weeknd's Can't Feel My Face are making moves. The next few weeks are gonna get crazy!
  
• Further back, Sheppard's Geronimo, Halestorm's Amen, Tori Kelly's Nobody Love, and Jidenna's Classic Man all look like future smashes. Meanwhile, steady as she goes for MKTO's Bad Girls and Alabama Shakes's Don't Wanna Fight.
• The number of new entries continues to dwindle from 6 to last week's 5 to this week's 4.  Will we see this trend continue next week?  Or will the chart glut at the bottom lead to more casualties than expected?
• Will any of the re-entry candidates find their way back into the chart?  What songs will debut?  And will Taylor Swift see a third week on top?  Or will Jarryd James or George Ezra claim number one for themselves?  All this and more will be answered next week.

Hey! Saw you comment on Daniel Collins's chart, and I think I've seen you post in the Hot 100 threads too, so I thought I'd check out your chart. :)

- Great to see Taylor at No. 1! "Bad Blood" is definitely my least favorite of the 1989 singles so far, but I'm still glad it became another huge hit for her. What are you hoping to see for single #5?
- Seems like "Lean On" spent some time at No. 1 on almost everyone's personal chart around here (including my own.) Shame that it might miss the Hot 100 Top 10.
- Awesome that "Can't Feel My Face" is working its way up your chart. I'm really into it lately, so I'm glad it's shaping up to be a big Hot 100 hit too.
- Aw, bummer that "Style" peaked at a mere No. 16 (I'm a tad obsessed with that one), but I guess you didn't start posting your chart until it had already been out for a while and all the buzz/hype was on BB instead.
- Glad to see someone else who credits "Where Are Ü Now" to "Jack Ü" instead of "Skrillex & Diplo." ;)

I haven't listened to all of Taylor's singles yet.  But I'm digging Clean, a song that shows her washing out the memories of an ex.

I probably would have thought Lean On would have peaked right around 9-10 or so, but a big drop in streams cost it last week.  Fortunately, they are still gaining in radio so they may bounce back this week.

I'm really liking Can't Feel My Face.  I think it could become a future #1 in as soon as a few weeks.

Yeah, I just started over a month ago with the chart.  I think Style would have probably peaked in the top 10 or so, but I couldn't get into it as much as her other singles.

Listing them as Jack U was due to several things.  Most importantly, I think that's what they refer to themselves as.  Also, it saves space on my chart which is nice as well.

No Sleeep is a nice song to go home from work and unwind to.  I really like Janet Jackson as well and I think the song will return once it has a good video to go with it.

King had a time just getting on the chart.  But I think it may have some gains for a couple of weeks while I see what happens next with it.

Do You Remember Ascends to the Top

Brianc2008's Chart Preview for 7/13-7/19

Week 5 of the chart offers chaos and turmoil as the order of the day as none of the current top 10 stayed in the same spot as it did last week.  Although only one new song crossed the threshhold, we've had several songs assert themselves to new highs while others start descending the chart mountain.  Let's take a closer look at the top 10.

Taking the top spot is Jarryd James as his Do You Remember rises 2-1.  Both previous chart toppers have lasted for two weeks apiece.  Will the Australian singer continue the trend or will he break it, for better or worse?

The previous throne sitter was Bad Blood as it slides to 1-2 for Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar.  Their other songs have received mixed news as Swift's Style continues to slide down while Lamar's King Kunta holds steady at its peak.

Climbing 5-3 for a new peak is Rachel Platten and her breakthrough single, Fight Song.  It emerges as the new top challenger to James's reign atop the charts.

Budapest declines 3-4 for British singer George Ezra.  Is it a temporary setback or has the song peaked in the top 3?  We'll have to wait and see, although his second single Blame It on Me continues to bubble under.

The first champion of the chart was Major Lazer with his dance tune Lean On.  The song, which features the vocals of MO and the beats of DJ Snake, sinks 4-5 this week.

Jamaican artist OMI surges 9-6 as Cheerleader hits a new high this week on the countdown.  The song may be ascending at the right time as people look for something to put on their IPods and MP3 players heading to the beach or other outdoors activities.  Perhaps, we're witnessing a future chart topper?

Fall Out Boy lands a new peak as their single Uma Thurman twists up from 8-7 this week.  No word as to what the actress thinks of the song, but considering it's based on one of her iconic roles, I doubt she has any objections.

David Guetta's third collaboration with Nicki Minaj titled Hey Mama ascends 10-8 for a new peak.  Will the third time, also featuring Bebe Rexha, be the charm that ends up on top?

Kansas City independent rapper Tech N9ne is the newest inhabitant of the top 10.  His rap song Hood Go Crazy featuring BOB and 2Chainz jumps up 11-9 for a new peak.

The smash single Renegades from X Ambassadors, an alternative rock band from Ithica, slides 6-10 this week.  Can they fight their way back up the charts or is this song down for the count?

 In Further Chart News:

Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon is the lone dropout of the top 10 as the song plunges 7-13.  Its peak was number 3.

In moves outside the top 10, Calvin Harris and HAIM's Pray to God rises 16-12, Can't Feel My Face by The Weeknd climbs 18-15, Sheppard's Geronimo surges 22-16, and MKTO's Bad Girls scorches 24-17.

Three songs, including Bad Girls, share the fast riser distinction this week in a first.  The hotshot debut this week is Biscuits, the song by Kacey Musgraves that debuts at number 42.

Do You Remember survives tough competition to remain on top

In the short six week history of this chart, we've had acts from France, United States, Trinidad, and Denmark (Lean On) as well as two Americans from different musical genres (Bad Blood) team up to take the top spot.  And if you read the headline, you can add a second week for Australian Jarryd James.

Do You Remember remains at number 1 for a second week.  The electronica song by the Brisbane native will have its work cut out if it wants a third week on top.

Rachel Platten gets closer than ever to the top spot as Fight Song rallies 3-2 for a new peak.  Might she continue to climb next week into the top spot?

OMI, from Jamaica, finds his song Cheerleader surging 6-3 for a new high as well.  Perhaps the favorable winds of summer are shining on this tune.  Or maybe it's the horns? 

Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar's Bad Blood descends 2-4.  The song was number 1 for two weeks before being dethroned by James.

Uma Thurman by Fall Out Boy reaches the top five for the first time as the song rises 7-5 for a new high.  The American band wants to have their first number one for the song named after the actress from Pulp Fiction.

Scottish Calvin Harris and American band Haim reach a new peak as Pray to God soars 12-6.  They are the first of two acts that join the top 10 this week.

French DJ David Guetta along with Trinidad rapper Nicki Minaj and American singer Bebe Rexha find their song Hey Mama climb 8-7 for a new peak.

Tech N9ne with BOB and 2Chainz, a trio of American rappers, rise 9-8 for their smash Hood Go Crazy.  This marks a new peak for the song as well.

Lean On, which features Major Lazer and DJ Snake along with the singing of MO, descends 5-9.  Much like Bad Blood, this led the chart for two weeks before giving way.

The second top ten newcomer is Honey I'm Good, the single by American singer Andy Grammer.  It ascends 11-10.

Two songs fell out of the top 10, led by England's George Ezra.  His Budapest plummets 4-11.  Also falling is Renegades by American band X Ambassadors which slides 10-13.

In action outside the top 10, the Weeknd's Can't Feel My Face climbs 15-12.  Don't Wanna Fight by Alabama Shakes rises 19-16.  Halestorm's Amen surges 22-18 and Tori Kelly's Nobody Love soars 24-19.

American band Awolnation earns the fast riser as Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf) ascends 38-28.  Lunchmoney Lewis, an American hip hop artist who's apparently related to Inner Circle, earns the fast faller as Bills plunges 29-42.  And the hot shot debut belongs to American singer Demi Lovato as Cool for the Summer snags spot 41.

• In a followup to last week's summary, Jess Glynne ties her peak of #32 for Hold My Hand after another gain this week.  Will the momentum carry Hand to a new high?
• It appears that the late Christopher Lee is finding his song Name Your Poison climbing again as well.  It is up to #31 this week.  The song comes from the 1982 superhero musical film The Return of Captain Invincible.
• With all the songs rising and debuting the last few weeks, something may have to give in the bottom of the chart.  Who might drop out?
• Two new rules have been instituted as of this week.  One is that a song must re-enter within 7 weeks or lose its spot permanently.  The other is that if a song has been out for 20 weeks, it becomes recurrent if it falls outside the top 25.
• After two weeks in a row with 4 debuts, the hot rumor is that only 3 songs may debut next week.  But one of them may flirt with breaking the hotshot debut record of #34 held by Halestorm for Amen.  Who will it be?  And how high will it go?
• Can Jarryd James be the first artist to rule for three weeks?  Or will Rachel Platten or OMI knock him off the throne?

Biscuits:  One listen and I was kicking myself for not having it up earlier.  But it should do pretty well.  It's up as well this week.

Honey I'm Good:  Not sure how much higher it will go, mainly because several songs are knocking on the door behind it.  I agree that I like the message too.

Cool for the Summer:  I didn't know for a while either, but some of those lines make more sense now we know what it's about.  But it took me several listens to warm up to it.  The chorus reminds me of Baltimora's Tarzan Boy from the 1980s.

Peaking songs:  Many, if not all, should be still on the rise next week.  Can't guarantee that they'll all be top tens, but I'd say Face could get in next week and I think Nobody Love should make it at least.

Major Rule Changes Afoot Starting in Week 7

After running his chart for 6 weeks, Brianc2008 decided that some changes would be needed starting this week.  The big change is that starting with the 7/26-8/2 chart (Week 7), the Top 50 Chart will become a Top 60 Chart.  "There was too many deserving songs getting bumped week in and week out or held out altogether due to space constraints," noted Brianc2008.  As for how that will deal with the earlier 6 weeks when it comes to year end, the earlier weeks will be multiplied by 1.2 in order to make the scores even and fair.

As part of that decision, several rules were altered.  The recurrent rule after 20 weeks will take place if a song is located outside the top 30 or will fall outside that spot.  The old rule would have taken place the same way, but the spot would have been number 25.  And the bubbling under section will consist of 12 songs instead of the current 20.

So, there'll be 60 spots to battle over instead of 50.  But the better question is who'll be number 1?  Come find out later tonight.

Platten, Fight Song Conquers inaugural Top 60

Rachel Platten, a singer/songwriter who's had a musical career for a dozen years without much success, was on the verge of hanging up her microphone.  But Fight Song was written as an anthem to not giving up on your dreams.  

And so it is that Rachel Platten ends up on top of the Brianc2008's Week 7 Chart.  Fight Song climbs 2-1 in its seventh week on the chart.

But she'll have stiff competition in the next few weeks.  OMI's Cheerleader rises 3-2 and its horn infused song threatens to make Platten's stay on the throne a short one.  Pray to God by Calvin Harris and HAIM is another contender as the song surges 6-3.

To round out the top 5, Jarryd James's song Do You Remember dips 1-4.  It spent two weeks on top of the chart.  Remaining in 5th place is Fall Out Boy and Uma Thurman.

David Guetta's Hey Mama featuring the musical talents of Nicki Minaj and Bebe Rexha climbs 7-6 for a new peak.  Also reaching a new high is the rap song Hood Go Crazy which rises 8-7.  Hood is led by Kansas City rapper Tech N9ne and features B.O.B. and 2Chainz.

The sole new entrant to the top 10 this week is The Weeknd.  His Can't Feel My Face surges 12-8 and could be a future contender for the top spot.

Rounding out the top 10 is former chart topper Bad Blood.  The Taylor Swift tune featuring Kendrick Lamar tumbles 4-9.  And finally, Andy Grammer's Honey I'm Good holds steady in spot number 10.

In moves outside the top 10, MKTO's Bad Girls surges 15-11, Tori Kelly's Nobody Love soars 19-13, and Zac Brown Band enters the top 20 as Loving You Easy climbs 25-20.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful news! As much as I love "Fight Song", it actually never went to No. 1 on my chart, so you're an even better fan than me in that regard ;) I generally try not to focus on age too much, but there's something exciting and encouraging about an act getting her first big hit at the age of 34 in such a youth-centric market (especially when it comes to female artists.)

I won't mind if it gets replaced by "Cheerleader" in the very near future, since then you'll have two back-to-back No. 1's that I really enjoy. "Can't Feel My Face" is showing some promising movement as well, so maybe all three will get to spend some time on top? **Fingers crossed**

SUMMARY

• Years and Years made history this week as Shine breaks the chart's record for highest debut at number 25.  The previous record belonged to Halestorm's Amen which debuted at 34.

Cheerleader Climbs to Top of Top 60 Pyramid
Brianc2008's Week 8 Report

OMI (pronounced Oh-mee) is a Jamaican artist who finds his first song Cheerleader atop of both the Billboard Hot 100 Charts and now the Brianc2008's Top 60 Charts in Week 8.  This makes Cheerleader the first song to top both charts in this chart's short history.  Let's look inside the top 10.

Cheerleader climbs the summit after going 2-1.  But its run on top may be limited by tough competition from several rising songs inside the top 10.

Ascending from 3-2 is Pray to God, the collaboration between Calvin Harris and HAIM.  Might they be the next artists to take the top spot?

Fall Out Boy finds its song Uma Thurman rising 4-3 for a new peak in week 8.  It's the second song from their album American Beauty/American Psycho which also contributed Centuries earlier this year.  The American pop/rock band hope that Thurman can lead to their first number one.

Hey Mama, a collaboration between David Guetta, Nicki Minaj and Bebe Rexha, goes up 5-4 for a new high as well.  Perhaps they're future contenders for the top spot?

Rounding out the top 5 is The Weeknd's Can't Feel My Face which surges 8-5 on the strength of its new video and a lip sync performance given by Tom Cruise, who proclaimed it the song of summer.  With a few weeks left, it remains to be seen if Can't Feel My Face is this chart's song of summer.

Tech N9ne, along with BOB and 2Chainz, reaches a new highwater mark for Hood Go Crazy.  The rap song bounces 7-6 in its eighth week.

A pair of former number ones hold spots 7 and 8.  Rachel Platten's Fight Song plunges 1-7 and makes history as the biggest drop that a top song has had since holding the number one spot.  Lean On and Bad Blood slid to number 2 in weeks 3 and 5 respectively.  Do You Remember fell to number 4 last week.

Speaking of which, Do You Remember slides 4-8 in week 8.  The song was on top for two weeks.

A pair of newcomers round out the top 10.  MKTO's Bad Girls rises 11-9 for a new peak in its eighth week.  The group is named after Malcolm Kelly (Walt in Lost) and Tony Oller (Walt in Gigantic).  And climbing 13-10 is Nobody Love, the debut single from Youtube star and former American Idol contestant Tori Kelly.  Her second single Should've Been Us catapults 51-41 in its third week.

Falling out of the top 10 this week is Bad Blood, the former number one collaboration between Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar which slides 9-12 and Honey I'm Good, the Andy Grammer song, which tumbles 10-14.

Cheerleader:  I'm glad you like the song and the back to back #1s.  I felt like #1 was inevitable for Cheerleader.

Fall Out Boy:  Yeah, that's the full title.  I feel some editing happening soon.

Can't Feel My Face:  It's possible that Cheerleader won't be the only title that tops Billboard and mine.  Might not happen next week, though.

Fight Song:  Unfortunately, that's what happens when a ton of songs want to move up at once.  At least it didn't drop out of the top 10.

Nobody Love:  That song's not done climbing yet.  Really enjoy it.  Yeah, she made it past the Hollywood round, but fell short of the top 24 in Season 9 (the year of Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox, remember those two?)

• Like in past weeks, we've got a logjam at the top with the top 6 songs, 8 of the top 10 and 15 of the top 20 songs at or reaching peaks this past week.  Which songs will thrive under pressure?
• Five songs debut this week led by the followup to Do You Remember by Jarryd James called Give Me Something. Tunes by Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Sage the Gemini w Nick Jonas make up the other four.
• New videos led to gains in both Can't Feel My Face and Around the World.  A new video led to Janet Jackson's No Sleeep earning fast riser honors the week before.
• Among last week's new entries, Are You With Me already dropped out of this week's chart.  679 showed some promising gains and Love Me Like You Mean It and Ghost Town landed new peaks this week.  Will any of these songs become a big hit?
• And among last week's returns, Hold Back the River is one and done.  Only El Perdon and I Put a Spell on You showed gains from the week before.  Can one of these songs make the most of their second chance?
• As it turns out, last week's drops for Roads (29-27) and Should've Been Us (51-41) were only temporary ones for now.  Do fans of One Hell of an Amen need to work about the song's slide this week?
• And how many new/returning songs will there be next week?  Might one of them threaten Shine's record debut?

Brianc2008's Top 60 Week 9 Report

Calvin Harris and HAIM claim the throne for Week 9 of Brianc2008's chart taking over the reins from OMI's Cheerleader.  Week 9 features two new entries in the top 10 including a record setting debut from 1 Direction.  Let's get started.

Pray to God climbs 2-1 to take the top spot for Calvin Harris and HAIM, which makes the first number ones for the Scottish singer/DJ and the American female group.  It's been a steady climb for the collaboration which debuted at #27 eight weeks ago.

Fall Out Boy reaches another peak as Uma Thurman boogies up 3-2 making it a possible contender for the top spot as soon as next week.  But they'll have to contend with The Weeknd whose song Can't Feel My Face rises 5-3.  Am I the only one impressed with the new video for that song?

David Guetta's collaboration with Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha, and Afrojack, Hey Mama holds down the fort at number 4 this week.  Rounding out the top 5 is Cheerleader which descends 1-5 from the top spot for OMI.

Hood Go Crazy, Tech N9ne's collaboration with B.O.B. and 2Chainz opens the second half of the chart remaining at #6.

A pair of rising songs make up the next two spots.  MKTO's Bad Girls soars 9-7, marking a new peak for actors/musicians Malcolm Kelly and Tony Oller.  Nobody Love from Tori Kelly ascends 10-8, marking a new peak for the song.  Her second single Should've Been Us rises 41-39 this week giving her two top 40 entries.

Drag Me Down, the first tune in 1 Direction's upcoming album, makes its hotshot debut at #9 this week.  It shatters the record held for several weeks by Years and Years's Shine which debuted at #25.  Reportedly, the United Kingdom band has contacted NASA for help with its music video.  Might they be the first boy band to top the charts?

Rounding out the top 10 this week is Amen from rock band Halestorm as it rocks forward 11-10.  Like Nobody Love, Amen debuted in the chart's second week.  Might one of those songs reach the summit of the chart?

Dropping out of the top 10 this week is a pair of former number one songs.  Fight Song by Rachel Platten descends 7-13 this week while Jarryd James's Do You Remember plunges 8-15.

In moves outside the top 10, Where Are U Now climbs 13-11 and is poised to enter the top 10 as soon as next week.  Loving You Easy glides 17-14, striving to be the first country song to enter the top 10.  And Around the World, the collaboration between Natalie La Rose and Fetty Wap, revs up 23-20.
